I just tried this menu last week. The main was delicious! The variety with the other components is interesting. It’s nice to know I could order another one and it could be a little different. Mine didn’t include the chocolate drink (which based on your reaction probably was a good thing), my snack was a Cranberry Maple Trail mix, my jam was blackberry, and I had a Snickers bar (would have loved to have the Mars bar). Mine was packed the same year as yours.
This one was awesome! You're definitely better off not having that shake. Not good! I actually have another of these so I agree, it's be interesting to see if there are different components. Thanks for watching Brian!!
There are a couple reviewers that have used one. Tyler Butterworth just reviewed an IMP and had one that appeared to be a dud. But Stickyfingaz745 did an IMP review and had one and it seemed to work great 🤷 They seem better than the US. Thanks for watching!!
Maybe the fruit had fermented, could have caught a cheap buzz and stomach ache to go along with it 😝! Beverage bags are just useless and I still think all those protein drinks are gross in any MRE! I’ve become a fan of the 3in1 coffee. I used to just do black coffee or with cream but first time I had a 3in1 coffee I was hooked! I have tried several of the sachets from all over (Korea, Vietnam, Germany, Great Britain). They are a nice afternoon break. Anyway, nice job on the review. Looking forward as always to the next Jerms review!

It was very good! There are some US menus that would benefit from a bunch vs wheat snack bread or tortillas. The Jalapeno pepper Jack beef patty would be the first menu that comes to mind. They just seem more practical than the wheat snack bread, or even the crackers for PB&J. Just my opinion. Thanks for the comment and question! I appreciate it 👍👍

You absolutely *have to* get an old US MRE menu 23 Chicken pesto pasta from 2017 and prior and compare it to this one! I had it once and it was actually really good! There were real pine nuts in the pasta! I've heard a lot of great things about Canadian IMPs but I have been reluctant to get one just because of the price. Even for cheap they are at least $35 and some menus are even more expensive. Just for kicks and grins maybe I will get one and try it out. But for that price I would rather buy a first strike ration, or 2 US MREs. A Canadian IMP is definitely on my bucket list. Actually, a lot of foreign MREs are, but I am turned off by the price of some of them, and the fact that customs would ravage them. I've been extremely lucky with the few Russian and Ukranian MREs I have bought. They made it through intact! But one day my luck will eventually run out. Anyway, I have had only a few components not quite right in a US MRE, pineapple pieces were one of them. Usually when you think of pineapple, you think of a white or yellow color. Those are not colors I would use to describe the ones I opened from 2009. Brown. They were brown. And they smelled like vinegar. I did still taste them though. It didn't taste right, so I did not eat the rest. My point is, fruit, cheese and milk products seem to go bad at a much higher frequency than other components. So I don't blame you for not eating the fruit. And this was from a US MRE which last literally forever! Well, I am glad to see you trying new menus!

I've had mostly good luck getting them but have had a few that got nabbed. The fruit smelled awful! No way I was eating that! Thanks as always for the comment and for always being here! I also don't understand why the bun isn't in US mre's. It's literally the most shelf stable thing in the whole MRE. You could let it sit out for months and it wouldn't go bad. It might get dry, but it wouldn't go bad. As long as it is sealed in the bag, I bet that bun would still be good 20 years from now. It's basically straight carbohydrates and calorie boost.
The new Mars bars may be the same as Milky Way; but, the old original ones from when I was young are not. Those original Mars bars had nougat. There is ZERO nougat in Milky Way/Mars from today.
