  • Harley Davidson Street Glide Key Fob Issue - Security Antenna. While on vacation I discovered that I had a key fob issue. I was asked for the security pin while turning the ignition on. I assumed this was just a key fob battery issue. I decided to check for any diagnostic codes a found a couple that pointed to something else. In this video I explain what happened and why I think it happened as well as the resolution. #howto #harleydavidson #sinisterclutch #keyfob #howto

    I put in a new battery and despite all other efforts, she would not start. I stumbled on your website and discovered this antenna...not only did I have it turned the wrong direction, it was not connected to the mystery dangling cable!! Connected the antenna after configuring it the right way and assuring it was not damaged and....she fired up! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

    Thanks for this. I also failed to re-attach the antenna and it dangled onto I think the drive belt and rubbed the module like yours. My problem was that the plug got pulled to the point that the red wire was streched and lost connection. I had to go all diy with crimps and heat shrink tubes. All better now. Peace to you and your family. 🤘😎🤘

    this man dove right into explaining all this which everyone should appreciate,on the other hand this also tells me that maybe the 'smart' security system(SSS) is not worth the what-ifs down the road and if someone with daily living, simply forgets about the fobs battery-change and the battery acts up away from home etc.in other words it seems much easier to simply turn a key and ride vs worrying about a security system esp if your bike is garaged etc,if its left outside then i would have a basic alarm where "I" arm/disarm it at "MY" choosing vs the bike.to end it,i think id pass on this security system even if it was offered to me for free,one less thing to worry about while riding etc.

    First, your bike is gorgeous. Thanks for this informative video. You performed an operation I was going to have the Harley dealer do on my 2022 tri glide but now I'm wondering if I can do it myself. I traded my 2017 Ultra Limited in for the tri glide and even though I had two fobs for the Ultra they only required one so I kept the second one. My new trike only came with one fob and I am planning to have the second fob from the Ultra mapped to the trike. In you video you map two fobs to the new antenna and I was wondering if I could do the same thing and map the old Ultra fob to the trike. Oh, and I changed my security code which the dealer never told me and it was a string of the same 5 numbers.

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  Рік тому +1

      The problem with that is each key fob has a 24 digit number used to program it to a bike. So your Ultra key fob is not programmed to the Tri Glide. That’s something that will need to be done at the dealership. In my case both my key fobs were already programmed. I just synced my fobs to the security antenna. Hope this helps and take care✌️

It's been hit or miss for a couple of months. sometimes it works fine and other times it does it after I turn the main switch off and back on. Now it's not working at all. My gut is telling me , maybe the main switch. Anyone have an idea ???

      No a New Key Fob will have to be programmed. Each fob has a code that allows it to be married to the bike. An AVDI tool is used to do the programming. You’ll have to take it to a dealership. I think you can buy the tool but it will be cheaper to take it to the dealership. Hope this helps✌️

      @@SinisterClutch Ive tried resetting the PIN but all instructions say 'With correct Key fob'..

      I've owned this 2011 electraglide for three years.
      It went into security shut down yesterday. I assumed key fob battery.
      I changed batteries in both key fobs, as well as check all connections to my new main battery, which I also tested.
