I'm planning to use ecamm live for Zoom concert performances and racked my brain trying to figure out how to avoid addressing my audience directly and create suspense before the opening song. I think the countdown will also allow latecomers a couple of minutes to shuffle in while people arriving on time will stay engaged.
He use the countdown timer every week for our live show on Monday nights. It's a way for us to start our stream while giving the notification tool on UA-cam time to send out the notice that we're live. We usually have the timer set for 5-6 minutes. While that's counting down, we show our topic for the evening while playing some "groovy" music.
I'm an entertainer new to going live on Facebook, but I use the timer to countdown when I actually come on my live feed. I advertise say 6pm and then at 5:55Pm I fire up the live feed and I set a 5 minute timer that lets people know I'll be online when the countdown ends. I have an overlay that covers the entire picture that I "hide" behind till the counter hits zero. Thats the point when I shut off the overlay and viola there I am. Its kinda cheesy, but really kinda cool at the same time.

Is there a way to edit a scene / text or anything, during LIVE, but hide the editing from the viewers? In OBS, you can get two windows. The one on the right is the LIVE view, and you can edit in the left one - and THEN change scenes.
I supposed you could use a countdown timer if it was a sales video and the offer you are making ends when the clock hits zero. I have used many countdown times on my sales pages, but never one embedded in a video or webinar. Peace out! Great video series.
if you created a circle overlay for your face view in the bottom right corner, is there any way to shift the view inside of it. As in shift left or right. I always find it so hard because it always crops to the center and then I have to move my camera every time

Our Awesome Planet well now in 3.4 the countdowns can trigger an action. You could set it to change to a new scene with an intro video and when that end it automatically ends the live! 🤯
This won’t go to Periscope and the screen share is crazy because I have to cover the whole ecamm screen. I don’t understand with Periscope I tried logging in About 10 times and I get a notification every single time that I am trying to login onto Periscope. But it never actually logs me in because I end up looking at a white screen over the E camm right after it looks like it’s about to login but it doesn’t let me in.
We are using ECamm to live stream our church services. Is it possible to pull in lyrics from something like ProPresenter using NDI? Could they come in as an overlay in real time?
ProPresenter 7 makes this very easy using "Looks" which is found under Screens from the tool bar. If running Ecamm and ProPresenter on the same machine create a new screen and choose Syphon output or if Ecamm is on different machine choose NDI output. Remember that you must be on the same network to use NDI. More detail can be found on the Ecamm support website.

Adrian, thank you. Speaking on behalf of a church that has needed to graduate quickly into live streaming because of the pandemic, Ecamm has been really helpful. Your tutorials are really helpful. I have a question about overlays- can you somehow create an overlay while in live mode and edit it how you want it to appear on screen BEFORE activating it visually to your viewers? Also, in answer to your question about countdown timers, we like to use them because we go live 20 minutes before service starts to reassure people that we are there and give them time to find us and wait with us :) thanks!

So this may be a silly question, but can the audience always see the controls from ecamm?or will they only see our image and what we are attempting to share?
Hello Adrian! I am new to Ecamm for our church and was a previous OBS user. I love the functionality of this software and think its great! However, i still can't get a grasp on how to use overlays. We sometimes have to add a text or graphic on the fly (while we're live) and when you are live and add an overlay, everything you do to that overlay i.e sizing, moving etc, shows up live! how can you stage it before pushing it live? It seems like by default, it is set to 'show' and coming from OBS, you had a studio mode that allowed you to queue up something before pushing it live. Any help you can give me would be appreciated! -- Thank you!
Does this program have the ability to create frequently edited changing text transitions? For example, overlays or duplicate scene page with (words/name, etc), overlays without the audience seeing the creation of the changes? This would be applicable for scriptures, song lyrics, etc. Or in OBS lingo......preview scene transition with dual ability to see each screen simultaneously...Thanks
Thanks Adrian! All of my overlays automatically fill the entire window. On here, you have them smaller and resizable. How do I do that, so for instance I can have my main video showing with Keynote slides in the corner?
Adrian firstly thanks for great tutorials. Loving this program. I'm using PDF overlays created from pages docs. Whilst they display well on my screen they are not displaying to well over ZOOM via virtual camera. Any suggestions as to getting better quality PDF's and Audio/Video in general out of ZOOM. Mostly I teach 1 to 1/2 students in a conference. I have 2 x cannon DSLR Cameras and iMac setup with Audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett)

Use the countdown time for my networking group for our infomercials, speakers, and referral sections of our meeting. Love the countdown timer.

Countdown timers are very useful for training courses, language training and the like.

When you were clicking through presentation, was that keynote or some other format

How we add multiple presenters to a webinar style event? I can only find reference to using skype, which not every uses
For now Skype is the only way but Ecamm will be soon releasing a way to bring guests in directly so stay tuned ;-)

How do you create an overlay. This shows you how to use an overlay that was already created. We also need to know how to IMPORT an overlay.
