    I am seriously considering an Antoine Courtois brass instrument. It was a real treat to view this video and to see the care and skill that goes into making these fine instruments. I would love to see a video of the 107 Eb soprano cornet.

    Je possède l'un des derniers trombones basses fabriqué dans l'usine française... Quel magnifique instrument! Dommage que cet usine soit fermée au profit d'une plus grande en Allemagne.

    The French know a thing or two about creating a fabulous Flugelhorn, don't they!

    the best part is when they open up the freezer and you can see all the bells inside.

    The tubes in this video are filled with soapy water that is frozen. Other instrument makers use pitch, lead or woods metals to bend tubing. Heat is only used to soften the tube prior to filling with a bending substance.

    • @alext9067
      @alext9067 5 років тому

      Interesting. I've seen pitch used. Now, question: Why the soap? Why not just plain water?

      @@alext9067 Ice cracks because it's not flexible... if you had soap, then it's more flexible therefore easier to bend the tubing

    Never showed how it's formed into a tube from that flat blank. Is it welded? I guess it is, but how and why not show it?

    Hi Courtois instruments lovers!
    Maybe somebody has a catalog of Courtois trombone mouthpiecies?I'm interested about "-A.Courtois-Paris-Becquet L-" characteristics.

      Hi! I'm probably seeing this too late since you posted it a year ago. The 5L has a cup diameter of 25.6mm (ever so slightly larger than a Bach 5G at 25.5mm) but the throat is 7.05mm (.277") which is the same as a Bach 5G, but the rim on the 5L is slightly flatter if I recall correctly.

      @@johnjenkinsmusic1 As they say, better late than never.
      Thanks for the info, I still need it.
      Are Curtua trombones original instruments, or are they made according to some example?

    • @johnjenkinsmusic1
      @johnjenkinsmusic1 2 роки тому

      @@Skirmantasas1 a little of both. Most of their models are inspired by the Bach 42 while one model is inspired by the Conn 88H.
