For those wondering: The first several minutes are of a tuba being made; you get to see a trumpet made at the 6:00 mark. This is all handmade stuff and you don't see any CNC until the 9:40 mark.
"handmade" implies no machinery is used in the making of... "man-made" is different than "handmade" or "machine-made" (also refered to as "automated"). 0:47 is handmade, 1:55 is not. essentially, all handmade items are man-made, but not all man-made items are handmade. one is not better than the other, just different approaches for different applications.
His shirt says “Miraphone.” The first bell piece says Miraphone. Yes, it’s a Miraphone Tuba, indeed! This BBflat Tuba is used by colleges, many high schools, and of course smart professionals use it in their work. Later, the Bach craftsmen create C Trumpets, mostly used in Orchestral and Solo work by professionals. Since most band music requires only Bflat this instrument would be the professional model. Thanks for the production M/C!!!
I am playing in the Latin Band "Rumba Wachaca" with a brass section (Trumpet, Trombone and Tenor Sax) and love how much power brass instruments are ggiving to our live performances. I never ever would have thought how much precision work by hand is necessary to produce brass instuments. I feel high respect for the unbelievable skills of the specialist! Now I know why these instruments are so relative expensive compared to my American Standard Fender Jazz Bass. TheremMost production steps are done with CNC and other full autonome working machines. Thanks fot the great video!!
Dont know a damn thing about musical instruments but was a machinist for 30+ years. These folks are more artists than machinists which is to take nothing from their talents. I was totally impressed and truly enjoyed watching their skills.
Hello, and first of all, 1000 thanks for this video. Being an artists and DIY myself, and music lover, I wondered how all this precise thins are made. Now I know. Thank you.❤❤
Wow! I had no idea CNC machines have developed so far as to look like humans! But seriously, that's still a huge amount of hand work. Nice photography. (And a strange soundtrack choice. ^.o )
Ummm. No Im just commenting, obviously, hyperbolically, on how cool that job seems. (As an aside i do work with my hands, but,...) No i do not already know how to make brass instruments by hand.... lol @@lougottlieb156
My single F french horn in junior high was a very beautiful Miraphone with a nickel plate ring at the bell and a lot of hand-etched decoration. Later I would discover what a privilege that was, when later I played student grade (Conn?) Instruments made paper-thin and without decoration like that first Miraphone horn.
As a lad in high school I played a double B flat tuba. Always wondered how the bell has created. Never could see any visible joins. Now , over 60 years later, I know.
I started playing music when I was 8... it was on a trumpet. At 14 I took up guitar because the trumpet was sooooo uncool. When I was about 22 I discovered Miles Davis and realized I had given up the on thing that was just soooo cool...
"How to Manufacture a Trumpet" - my first thought was that that is far too large to be a trumpet. Turns out it's a tuba. I've never seen one with rotary valves before, but it was cool seeing how they put them together. The trumpet is in the second half of the video, for those interested.
It is amazing how the way they have to temper the brass till it's perfectly true before building it so that it achieves that perfect richness and tone... otherwise it's no good.
I always thought that tubas were made by little elves in a hollow tree. Or maybe gnomes in a cave. But these are just normal guys in factories. I am devastated...
Synth music in a brass video. Top notch
Horrible isn't it.
Horrid

I've played a Mirafone. A fine tuba.
C Trumpets are used in french orchestras, Bflat in american or english ones. F trumpets are stil used in Wien.
Only expart hands can produce such melodious instruments so precisely great work
I was lucky enough to play a Miraphone through Junior and Senior High school.
A beautiful instrument.
Visited the Miraphone factory. They are very friendly people. Proud of making tubas and so they should be. Wonderful.

Wow ! What a precision , what a perfection ,what a finish ! Hats off !!
Not other than men, where never to be found in this productive video. Keep it up, they were not needed. MEN AT WORK.
Five minutes in I have seen no CNC. That's a tuba. Not a trumpet. I do recognize the maker. Mirafone makes a fine tuba.
It's a rip of the same video that they put out years ago...
It’s a contrabass trumpet.
@@tjp1451 Almost. It's a contrabass coronet.
@@VinceHiggins-OTW Oooo or maybe a contrabass flugelhorn, that would kick ass. 😂
Well, there are some trumpets later

Bow that is the most best biggest
Brass instrument I HAVE EVER SEEN

Magnifique! Combien d’années d’expérience ? Magique!!!!
Fantástic!!!What a treat, really beautiful!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎻
😮, muncă manuală de mare măiestrie!!! Bravo bravisimmo și succes în continuare!!! De la un român și țăran liber.
This is so cool!! I totally want to work here! What an awesome job!

Muito elogiável esse trabalho. Um misto de beleza, capacidade , precisão. Gostaria de saber onde fica essas fabricas.
muito bem feito que bons profissionais parabéns

Fabulous!
Très intéressant, impressionnant ! Quel travail !

Vero artisti!!!!!
I had a friend who played the Sax. He stored his Sax in a room and I said to him "Is that where you keep your jazz"?
Yes
Beautiful.

Very interesting, thank you for the video...😊

Absolutely amazing what hands can make
AWESOME !
Very Good
Sensacional
Fantastico 😊😊😊
At 2:24 one might see a CNC, if we define the abbreviation as Clanky Noisemaker Constructor
;-)
Beautiful job.
A very big trumpet!
Das is echte Handwerkskunst❤
Beautiful
Piece of art
Amazing work

You’re not the only one who gave up trumpet for guitar - so did Paul McCartney.
love the no eye protection!
good video. in this age of AI and techno everything, very very few people appreciate the skills and manhours needed to create fine instruments.
I think brass choir music in the background would have been better.
¡¡¡ Hermoso trabajo !!!👍👍👍👏👏👏
Vak bekwaam heid top ❤😊😊
What was the heat source used before the advent of the blow torch?
Dragons breath
Grato Job.

Impresionante, ingeniería, tecnología, arte, belleza,
Good .
The lack of personal protective equipment in the first half was astounding
Arte para fazer arte!
❤very beautiful
Amazing satisfying video thanks a ton
12 minutes of video without single tone from a brass instrument? Somehow pointless
Curious, do they need tuning? And if so, when do they do it? Not clear in the video.
There is a user adjustable section for tuning. They manufacture it close and the user takes it the rest if the way
🔥🔥🔥
_Thank you!_
Perfect
Very nice 👍

Why this video feels like it's recorded in the 80s
Good old times 😂😂
It is amazing how the way they have to temper the brass till it's perfectly true before building it so that it achieves that perfect richness and tone... otherwise it's no good.
I wasn't a Bell maker (Customer Repairman) with Boosey and Hawkes, but I saw them doing all of that
I always thought that tubas were made by little elves in a hollow tree. Or maybe gnomes in a cave. But these are just normal guys in factories. I am devastated...
I've played trumpet for 4 years in school but was not a good player but I wish I had kept playing
Which country this making...
☝️😳
Is this video from the late 70s or early 80s?
That's a big ass trumpet! Or did I miss the shrink process?
This video makes me want to buy a brass instrument and I don’t even know how to play.
Does the musical accompaniment not have any BRASS IN IT because the brass is being made or what?
Vraiment extraordinaire !!!!!
Got the reason why these instruments are so much expensive... They take lot hand work for long time for precise and accuracy..
fantastic. my ideal job
Interesting
It's not a trumpet but a tuba.
second part shows the trumpet production process
