I've been taking this course for the last 6 days and I am absolutely hooked. The etudes are so fun and work on different aspects of technique, not just slap. Charles also provides insights into some of the musical choices (tone, harmony and songwriting) that each of the 10 bass masters utilize which is really inspiring. There is also a community to connect with other bass players so come say hi!
I sware if it's the last thing I do on this earth Charles, I'm going to sneak into your studio and string up the E on that brown bass to your left. And you will know it's me because it will be neon green, look completely ridiculous, and then everyone will point and laugh. I'm super cereal. Awesome vid btw
help this is amazing. IVe been playing bass for about a year and a half (im 14) and i really want to learn slap.. is there any songs youd recommend for a beginner (ive tried to learn Freddy Washington's forget me nots bassline because ITS SO GOOD but im struggling and think maybe i should start from the start hahaha)
Victor and Marcus styles can be challenging for different reasons....Victor obviously has more speed and technicality behind his style and Marcus my not have the same level of complexity in terms of his technique compared to Victors but What sets Marcus apart from everyone else is his experience as a sideman being in nearly every musical situation as well as a solid musical foundation and imagination..he has the uncanny ability to Groove 2nd to none ...his choice of notes and staying locked in with the drummer and in perfect harmony with the melody
You should buy an old PS3 and do a mini-series of you playing the hardest songs on Guitar Hero on the hardest difficulty 😅...it'd be easy for you, entertaining for us, and it'd probably get a LOT of views...people love nostalgia after all!
Is many notes great music, or is it the old master's there wrote music who had a perfect balance between techniques and notes. It is like nowadays all instruments, bas, guitar, drums keyboard, put out there a lot of fast lines. Everything drowning in each other. 🤔 the skills are super high today. So for me is music, perfect balance. 😊 I do alot of notes on my guitar to, 🎸 I'm starting to understand the silence often is better music, but it tok many years to understand discover that.
One day, I'll be in a better financial situation and upgrade from this sad acoustic Fender to a nice electric one. I really like the looks of the Schecters, but oh man, I can't spare even the sale price
Go to bassmasters.co and get half off Mastering The Masters until midnight on June 21st!
that domain name made me expect a fishing website tho.
Can you go over your action setup? I get some rattle especially as I go higher on the fret board. Thanks!

CHARLES!!! You've never given any love to Remco Hendriks! This musician changed how I approach the bass guitar. Truly innovative. Plus, he's Dutch.
It’s incredible to see such kindness and love. Thank you all!

The PROPER way to do an ad.
When the stanky face goes to 11!
do you ever give permission to use a few bars of your music on someone else's video ? or do you charge for the use ? absolutely a fan !
