Okay; a couple of tips to keep your slasher-movie fans loyal: a) don't watch these out of order; b) don't watch a spoof on a movie before seeing the actual movie; c) yes, the Scream franchise is outstanding in that there really are no thumbs-down entries. While some are better than others, it's a very well done series. I definitely recommend sticking with it; d) don't watch anymore 'Scary Movie' movies until you've seen a lot more horror/slashers; you'll have more authentic viewing experiences of the originals and you'll love the Scary Movie movies that much more when you're familiar with the references and so on. Okay, now I'll start watching the reaction ;)
I feel like you need to have seen the slashers multiple times before understanding the laughs in Scary Movie.
Watching Halloween once isn't enough. Same with Nightmare On Elm Street etc etc
Fun fact....Scream WAS originally titled Scary Movie.
Yeah I got 10 min into this reaction and couldn’t watch it anymore. Way too many comparisons to Scary Movie.
With the exception of three the whole franchises bangers number three is the weakest of the franchise and that's because they had to rewrite it a whole bunch of times because of some stuff happening in the real world at the time so it ended up being the combo breaker being the only one without a partner for the killer and they left in a lot of the b******* that implicated the partner that was going to be the partner
As a slasher fan I love when people react to these movies.

@@DanielGarcia-us7tf Psycho 2 is one of my favourites of all time
@@DanielGarcia-us7tfHalloween was trash and all the sequels too
The effective jump screams have me laughing so hard I love you guys 😂
Three things that I love about this franchise:
1. Ghostface is an actual human person who's killing people. It's not like a Freddy Krueger, Jason, or Michael Myers. Scream is something that can actually happen in real life, and that's what makes it relatable and frightening. That's actually how Kevin created "Scream" by basing the plot loosely on the 1990 case of the Gainesville Ripper.
Making Ghostface somewhat clumsy also made it a realistic human. (Also, the robe is very easy to trip over.) I love the mystery of who done it.
2. The self-awareness and rules about horror movies and how Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson play on it.
3. Typically, in horror movies, it's always the killer that continues on the franchise with a whole new cast to kill off. But in Scream, it's the opposite. It's the "final girl" who wins against different killers who are portrayed as Ghostface.
- it's interesting with Ghostface how he seems intimidating and unkillable when hiding behind the mask. But once it comes off for the revealing, it's like he or she becomes vulnerable and then ends up getting killed. It's kind of like how people hide behind computer and phone screens they come off as aggressive and intimidating, always picking a fight. But then, when it comes to dealing one on one in person exposed they become complete opposite and are actually weak.
I love this franchise so much. The film came out at a time when the horror genre was dying out and it was breath of fresh air. It's a self-aware horror film, making fun of the horror tropes. This is a good one for those are not really into the tipical horror or slasher movies. I love all the movies. I rank them like this: Scream > Scream 4 and 6 > Scream 5 and 2 > Scream 3. I hope you continue watching this franchise.
Yay! This is my favorite horror franchise so I’m happy your going do the rabbit hole 😭
I didn't know it was so funny. Definitely need to watch the rest
One of the best things is that the movie doesn’t take itself to serious and isn’t afraid to poke fun at the tropes other horror movies follow. Wes Craven was a genius
Oh, and random fun fact! Fred the Janitor was played by Wes Craven, who also directed Nightmare on Elm Street!
It's so funny that "I want to see what your insides look like" is simultaneously so funny in Scary Movie when it is a Playboy Playmate saying it vs. an isolated teenager being stalker.
I love that whole scene when Randy (Jamie Kennedy) was watching Halloween by himself and telling Jamie Lee Curtis to turn around that he's behind you lol. Wes wanted to be creative with playing with their really names. He was telling himself that he Jamie needed to turn around lol. The way Wes Craven creates those little things is amazing and brilliant!
- Also, the whole last 30ish mins everything that was happening around the house it was perfectly mirroring with what was happening in Halloween lol. The bedroom scene with Sid/Billy like Y'all mentioned, the background music and noices from Halloween when Dewey was in the house searching, Randy on the couch by himself and Sidney yelled out at the same time as Laurie screamed in Halloween which ended up saving Randys life lol, Laurie hiding in a closet as Michael was stabbing through and Sidney also in a closet and stabbed Billy.
The great thing about the Scream films were they were so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject they constantly refers to old Horror films and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each one of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do all the sequels, the writing is just so clever. Sarah Michelle Gellar ( Buffy herself! ) is in Scream 2, but can't use her slaying powers. Really top female actors in all the Scream films Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox (the constants), Drew Barrymore, Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Heather Graham, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Rebecca Gayheart, Portia De Rossi, Emily Mortimer, Emma Roberts, Hayden Pannettiere, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Carrie Fisher, Jenna Ortega, and they are just the ones I can remember! The plots are just so clever you will love them. You gotta do all the sequels!, they are great films in their own right.
Fun fact if no one has said it yet, when Sydney pops out of the closet and stabs billy with the umbrella, his screams were genuine screams of pain. He was wearing a safety vest and Nev (Sydney) was supposed to hit the vest but she couldn’t see out of the eye holes so she had actually hit him in the chest above the vest.
Not to mention he had surgery just before well not just just before…. but he had surgery that’s why the vest was required and not too many people know that this movie , storyline was actually inspired by actual events the 1990s Gainesville Ripper
A little backstory of how Scream got created.
Kevin Williamson wrote the story, originally titled Scary Movie, and based the plot loosely on the 1990 case of the Gainesville Ripper. It was a string of murders in a small town... Then it was changed to "Scream" cause the Ghostface costume was a close resemble to the Scream painting. The Ghostface costume was originally going to be all white but Wes Craven said it was to much like the KKK so he did the black robe with a white face. Kevin wanted to create a story that has horror but also with some comedy of making it a self aware with the horror universe. But also use a relatable story that truly happened as a baseline. So many Directors wanted to be a part of it. There was even a big bidding war. He chose Wes Craven cause he was the only one who truly understood the story and his vision. Kevin wrote majority of the franchise and Wes Craven directed all of the Scream movies except for "Scream 2022" and "Scream 6". He died after making the 4th.
The title of "Scary Movie" ended up being used for the parody movies since Kevin didn't use it. So yeah the 1st Scary Movie was mostly about about Scream, Scream 2, and I know what you did last summer. Then little bit of Halloween, the Blair witch project, Urban Legend, the sixth sense, The usual suspects, the Matrix, a very brief Dawson's Creek. .
Her side eye reaction of you laughing while shes terrified and grossed out is the funniest part of this🤣💀
Can’t wait to see y’all react to the rest of the franchise. My list of favorite to least favorite (I love all of them so much)
1. Scream (1996)
2.scream 6
3. Scream 2
4.scream 2022
5. Scream 3
6. Scream 4
@25:59 I had to replay several times over y’all’s reaction to it lol. Absolutely loved it lmaooo
Matthew Lillard is amazing haha
Matthew lillard is so ace in this - “Surprise Sidney”
One of the things I like about Scream compared to other slashers is that it's a mystery. You don't know who's doing the killing until the end of the movie, so you get to try and figure it out.
If my manz Wes Craven was still alive i think he'd loooooove yal reaction. For him to know that even all these years later his movies can still scare the hell outta people. Craven changed the game. I hope you guys do more of his movies and i cant wait for your reactions to the rest of the franchise
Sad, I didn't know he passed. Someone else pointed out he cameo'd Freddie in this movie which is hilarious. Seems like a cool dude
Wes Craven did cameo Freddy, he also created Freddy. The janitor is actually Wes Craven dressed as Freddy.Craven did cameos himself in other movies. So I'm gonna need you to do the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise as well. I'm gonna do o my part and give you lists of movies, not just horror
The scary movie sent me 😂
Scream is top notch horror, perfect mix of horror, mysterie and comedy ❤
One of the best parts of this movie is not only is it a horror, but it is also a psychological thriller , comedy and drama all in one
this is such a good movie. a true classic
The music is so amazing. When Ghostface is killing, they play the old Universal Monster movie theme. When Billy is getting the PG-13 "Treatment", the music that's playing is "Don't fear the Reaper", foreshadowing he's the killer.
31:35 How could she NOT be into him? I mean, look at that man's beautifully sculpted face, and those soft, brown, puppy dog eyes. He was my beauty standard for men back in high school after this came out. He was Johnny Depp 2.0, except not as successful, sadly. And he really didn't age well.
Fun Facts:
- So when Tatum said to Dewey that the janitor is your superior, it's true cause the janitor at the school that was dressed as Freddy Krueger was Wes Craven who directed Scream-Scream 4 lol.
- So before Scream came out in 96, the caller ID was not popular at all. The caller I.D. sales in the U.S. tripled after Scream was released, lol.
- Billy AND Stu were at Casey's and used their girlfriends as Alibis for being out. Stu was on the patio with Steve while Billy was in the front, tormenting her on the phone. The question about "Which door am I at" was a trick question. Stu ran to the front door to let Billy in. You could hear the front door open before she went outside through the kitchen. When her mom was hearing Casey breathing on the other end of the phone line, you can hear one talking to another saying "tree," and the phone ends. Also, when Steve was tied up, he was looking at both directions of the house.
- Wes Craven lol to get his actors into character emotionally like Drew Barrymore (Casey) and Neve Campbell (Sidney) right before he start to film he would run up to them and tell them something terrifying. With Drew Wes Craven would tell her real-life stories of animal cruelty to bring out her emotions and then run off set and yell action, lol.
- Roger L. Jackson was the voice of Ghostface for all of Scream movies. For every film, the actors were never allowed to meet him before or see him during filming, so that way, when they were on the phone with him, it would give them that real fear effect. Wes Craven always kept him hidden from the others to where they couldn't see him, but he was still able to see them. He also improved a lot of his lines as well.
- Neve Campbell (Sidney) was originally going to say "no" to the film as she is especially afraid of horror movies. But when hearing her co-star Skeet Ulrich (Billy) from The Craft (1996) was going to appear, she agreed. They did both movies back to back that same year.
- They casted Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis and gave him the same kind of hair style cause of how close he looked like to young Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street who also climbed in through a bedroom window. His last name, Loomis, is a reference to Dr. Loomis in Halloween.
- Also when he climbed through her window, the first time "Fear the Reaper" was playing. He climbed through her window to distract her and turned on her stereo to cover up the background noise of Stu kidnapping her dad. If notice he was wearing the same outfit at the end.
- The news lady that was harassing Sidney "how does it feel to almost being butchered" is Linda Blair from the Exorcist.
- If look really closely when Billy was "stabbed" in the bedroom, you can see Stu adding the fake blood onto the knife before wiping it off.
-Casey's comment about Nightmare on Elm Street about how the first was good, but the rest sucked. It's because Wes Craven only did the first one and didn't direct all of the other ones, lol.
-Kenny actually saved Sidney in his literal final moment AFTER his throat got slashed. He pointed to the back and told her "door" so she could crawl out.
- Ghostface in the bathroom was a prank on Sidney it wasn't either Billy or Stu.
- Rose McGowan(Tatum) was actually able to fit through the cat door. They had to staple her shirt to the door cause she kept falling out. Also, just before her head got smashed in, she herself added, calling out "mom," and Wes loved it and kept it in cause it gave her last moments of humanity. Rose also picked out her own outfits for her character. The jersey she wore with #10 was also a reference to Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street.
- When Billy hit Stu in the head with the phone, it was an accident on Skeets part. The fake blood was so sticky and ended up hitting Matthew Lillard instead of the desk, and his "Oww You hit me with the phone D***" was a real reaction to it. Wes loved it as well, so he kept it, lol. Matthew also improved most of his kitchen scene with his lines, like with "Houston, we have a problem," "the peer pressure," and the comment about his parents going to be so mad, lol.
- That WHOLE kitchen scene took 5 days to film because of the amount of high energy that was used as well with the fake blood (corn syrup dyed red).
- Neve Campbell and Matthew Lillard actually started dating while filming Scream and were together for almost 3 years. So that whole "I've always had a thing for you, Sid" was true, lol. He originally auditioned for Billy, but the casting didn't believe that someone like Neve/Sidney would date someone like him, lol. So he ended up getting Stu, and Skeet got Billy cause of his look alike to Johnny Depp. The funny thing is that even though the casting thought that about Matthew, they ended up dating real life anyway 😂 Skeet and Matthew talk about that often at the conventions dueing the Q&A. the Original cast are all still close till this day. Skeet, Matthew Lillard, Neve Campbell and Jamie Kennedy (Randy) are the main ones that do the conventions and sometimes Roger L. Jackson.
- When Billy got stabbed with the umbrella the 2nd time, it actually hit Skeet where he had heart surgery when he was younger, so that scream he let out was his real action to the pain.
- Drew Barrymore was supposed to play Sidney. But she ended up changing her mind and went to Wes herself with an idea to have her as the open kill cause no one would expect it. Also, it would show if they could kill off a huge star right off the bat it would mean NO ONE was safe. It was the BIGGEST surprise shock effect for the audience cause they assumed she would be the leading character and they played into the with the publicity.
-Even though Billy was at Sidneys for the attack. It was actually Stu who she fought with when he was tripping up the stairs. You can hear ghostface saying "easy" "easy". The next day at the lockers, he was checking his face in Tatums mirror for any bruises, and when Tatum was hitting him with her sucker he says "easy" "easy.
-Billy was always 1 handed with his killing if he had a knife if didn't he resorts to choking except for Tatum he used the opportunity with the garage door. He gave a signal look to Stu at the front door that Tatum was dead. Stu uses both hands when using the knife and resorts to other tactics if he doesn't have a knife like the both times he fought Sidney.
-Stu was the one that called Dewey about the abandoned car and also called Randy about the principal after the whole "I'll be right back." Billy killed the principal so they could use him as a deploy for later that night to get the rest of the guests to leave so the real party could begin.
- Dewey was supposed to die in this one, but Wes Craven and everyone just loved David Arquette and how he played his character. They all fell in love with him, so at the end, Wes had Dewey do the thumbs up to show the audience that he survived
Will never forget when this came out and the joy of the first watch
1. What I like most about doing this is watching people overthink it. Thank GOD for the twist ending.
2. Cell phones weren't prevalent in 1996.
3. This is a movie to watch if you want to have fun.
4. The principal was the Fonz/Henry Winkler.
5. Tatum/Rose McGowan has permission to sit on my face.😋😍
6. I love how the inept killer keeps getting his ass kicked🤣
I like number 5 lmao

I always find it interesting that reactors think Tatum having two beds in her room is odd. Do kids not have sleepovers anymore? Everyone I knew in the 90s had either more than one bed in their room or a trundle for sleepovers. 🤷♀
you realizing midway that was courtney cox was wild, i thought you recognized her when you first mentioned how they nailed her look in scary movie LOL
IT'S A SCREAM BABY!
Yoooo thank you so much!
Sweetheart, everyone worries about that popcorn 😂😂 Sometimes I'm more concerned about the popcorn than the character of Casey. Can you imagine the stench in that house? How many times they had to burn bags of popcorn for different shots, and resetting those shots? I feel bad for whoever actually owned that home, probably took weeks or months to get that stench out.
16:01 you got me there for a sec hahahaha 😂
Lol the reason ghostface is so clumsy at the end is cause it is stu and he was drinking at the party all night
15:33 it is a program for deaf people to text back in the mid 90's
Ahh that makes sense
Fun fact: Rose McGowan could actually fit right through the garage door so they had to fit her with a prosthetic so she would get stuck 😂
I read an interview that said they finally just stapled her shirt to the frame to give her some resistance. 😂
Thank you for your reaction I love watching people react to movies group watching or seen in the theaters. As for scream I was already in my 20s but I can give you with the movies I was born in the 70s drop in the 80s and 90s what a time for entertainment…
Good reaction as always.
Now a little bit off topic, but I have been wonder for a while, did Cassie get that "Your Name" tattoo she wanted??
Great reaction. You guys are funny.
It really is a fantastic horror franchise, with only one slightly bad movie (but still actually good in its own way). Most franchises go completely off the rails. Not Scream.
Ooooh I’m excited about this one!!! I will be spending lunchtime with two of my favorite people today, looks like 😁
Hahaha you can finally watch something we watched!
@@RelaxwithJC Yes!!!! I always check out y’all’s videos “for the algorithm!”, but I often haven’t seen the shows/movies haha. But today…. slash slash, my good man
We are trying to do some more "main stream" things lately.
The movie or story line was inspired by the 1990s Gainesville Ripper
I generally don't like horror movies because they're usually too unbelievable. For something to get to me, it has to have a grounded premise - it has to seem like something that could actually happen. That's why Freddy, Jason, Michael thing doesn't work, and other films are too supernaturally based, I jus can't take them seriously. Scream I can watch because we're not really supposed to take it seriously, but within the film, the characters still have stakes. Only horror that was ever really creepy or weirded me out was 'The 4th Kind.' Its because the premise is plausible, even if unlikely to be experienced. Plus that damn owl! Those who know, know what no mean.
I do find it weird that so many people who react to this movie have seen Scary Movie already. Like why would you watch the parody of a movie that you haven’t seen first?
Scary Movie came out when I was in highschool. EVERYBODY watched it. You couldn't have a conversation without hearing about it. It's funny even without seeing the source material.
More so that the Scary Movies are so profoundly profoundly stupid.
Can’t wait to watch your reactions to the other scream movies
If you watch 2x speed the vibe is revealed.

Fun fact Scream original title was called Scary movie they change it because it seem a little generic name.
I never knew!
these slasher movies are so scary
The new Scream movies aren't up to par with the orignal four. I think that most people agree that this is the correct ranking from best to worst: 1,3,4,2...........Scream '22, VI
I don't. I think Scream VI was great movie and is right up there for me after 1 & 2.
No, most people think Scream 2 is either on par or better than the first. No way is is worse than 3. 3 had some funny moments, but overall it was lackluster and the final act was boring.
You guys are gonna love the franchise. 2 is good because of the cast. 3 is pretty boring. 4 and 5 are AMAZING and so much more violent than 1. But 6, oh man... 6 is the definition of violence. Be ready.
I wouldn’t say 3 is boring- I love the comedy- It’s not the best compared to the others- The comedy holds up though- That’s my opinion though
5 has the worst cinematography 💀💀💀 bad characters, bad scenes
You gotta react to the Insidious franchise ❗️
I refuse to believe anyone hasn’t seen scream……like wtf
Please watch Sleepaway camp next . It’s weird and funny
technically Cathy is correct... the working title of Scream was Scary Movie
Comment for the algo and will let it play out buuuuut lord knows I can’t watch this, even if it’s just a reaction lol.
Haha it's barely scary, more funny than scary. You got through Final Destination you can get through this Easy!
🔥🔥🔥
Unfortunately watching Scary Movie before Scream ruins the experience. It's not nearly intense as it should be because you already know who the killers are how and the movie goes beat by beat.
Recommend I know what you did last summer Sarah Michelle gellars character Helen has the best chase scene in a slasher to date
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
Thank you!
Followed for more Scream content (and whatever else comes up, of course).
Hey, so you guys like Matthew Lillard? Have you guys watched his movie "SLC Punk!"? It would be a good react
Fun facts. Matthew lillard improved the line u hit me with the phone dick cause skeet aka billy accidentally slipped the phone out of his hand so they kept it in. Matthew lillard improved my mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me. Last lil fact when did stabs billy in chest with umbrella the actor had a pad on his chest but she missed the pad and hit his chest where the actor had open heart surgery and his yell was real
Movie was so much funnier than i remember
That's my favorite horror movies yall should watch Scream 2 1997 movie 😂
We are going to watch them all!
@@RelaxwithJCheck them out these movie is the reason the Slasher genre hasn't lost it's touch.Inthe beginning of the 90s Horror Audience had enough of these type of horror.
Please look up the year. Scream came out in 1996. Hey, WTH ? Is this gas lighting bs.?
Why don’t y’all watch the full franchise
there are 6 scream movies
Scary movie is funny but it really doesn’t take that much talent to parody movies when you basically take the whole frame work. And tbh, that movie is definitely overrated.
I usually like horror reactions, but the constant giggling and your lack of comprehension is straight up annoying.
This movie was lightning in a bottle. It's legitimately one of the best in the genre.
That being said, the rest of the movies in the franchise are crap. They'll get views though lol
Don't say that I was really looking forward to watching number 2 haha. And the ones with Jenna!
@@RelaxwithJC You know me, I'm hypercritical of everything. You're less critical and pedantic than me on a lot of stuff so you'll probably have a good time with them!
@@smashbrandiscootch719 haha only a little less crital. But with movies I'm a pretty harsh critic. But I can tell these movies don't take themselves seriously so I'm going to try and do the same
