@@SwitchbackOutdoorstv oh it is a spot where archers keep the releases. But as I seen later in the video that isn't what it was. It was a part of you'lls backpack and you had the butt of the rifle in it. But any how like the content in your videos . UA-cam hunting videos is what keeps me sane till next season.

Early morning sighting of elk got me excited to bad no bulls ..I do like the idea of pre marinating grouse with candy .

Seeing that smoke brings back memories from September...and there isn't many bugles in those memories

Thats how it goes sometimes. We had the same thing this year. Tuff glassing cause of fires. Shut down areas cause of fires within our unit which created a lot of hunting pressure. We had to stick and move just to find larger groups of elk. This episode feels very familiar.
It was pretty brutal, hind sight we wish we would have stayed in where we were at. But you never know, the heat had us super nervous!
@@SwitchbackOutdoorstv Agree with the "never know". Elk are where they are and you always second guess yourself about making the right decisions. But got to go with the gut👊

Hang in their Ross. I believe that 2020 was a tuff season for alot of people. Go back in November like you said and put the smack down on a nice bull.
That was the plan, we did get a chance to go back a couple weeks later to try again!

Thats why its called hunting not shooting. Had the same conditions trying to deer hunt early September. Can't glass because of the smoke. Looking forward to the next one
