Great video! As someone just getting back in to the game I found this very informative. I also like how many of these are done with C/U cards rather than Rares!
I'm shocked that Clash of Sabers/You Are Beaten didn't make the list - they should be near the top. Even more so, Lateral Damage is such a killer! But my personal favorite is Power Pivot! Combine with Rapid Fire to surprise an opponent that is attacking. Add in Don't Underestimate Our Chances, and you can deliver a heck of a knockout punch.
I watched at half speed. Even better then full speed! These are some great KO's! I've never been a good enough player to come up with these ideas on my own, although I have used some the of the #1 KO's. My big combo has always been Mantellian Savrip and Bacta Tank with Kal'Falnl C'ndros (great forfeit and 0 deploy cost). It's tough for the DS to win when you don't ever lose cards off the table! Looking forward for Episode 3!
thanks for watching at 1/2 speed ! Oh thats a brutal combo too, you can fight any battle even if they have 20+ power, just lose a 9 forfeit obi from your hand, and KFC to the tank and back! then they lose attrition
The Scanning Crew + Miiyoom Onith combo always made me seethe because I didn’t have any doubles of my mains, and my friend did this annoying laugh every single time he took them out 😂
Definitely that #1! You're going to be running mains anyways, have the cards that add destiny for those mains together! I was waiting for you to mention EPP cards since they basically all add destiny (most anyways).
Really cool video idea; I think the only one my friends and I ever used back in the day playing was uncontrollable fury which was such a frustrating way to lose as DS. We never played with much strategy back in the mid 90s when we were in middle school, so it was always about putting the highest power/ability stuff in your deck even if it made no sense, and smashing stacks of mains against one another until someone lost. Imagine you and your friends piling in the back of mom's minivan, punchdrunk from staying up all night drinking soda at a sleepover, on your way to the card shop, pulling a minty fresh vader from a pack...the absolute ultimate card, sticking it in your deck all set to demolish your friends, and then that one friend with a few more braincells than you hits you with uncontrollable fury and absolutely kneecaps your vader. Friendship ending stuff there.
i like that deck idea, try it with Sienar Fleet Systems (retrieve 3 force), use the vader squadron too for 3 force retrieval. actually my brother had an insane win % in P-D2 tournament doing this, and Flagship operations (TIEs destiny +2, aka squadrons plus +6 .. so Tie squadrons destiny 9..) then surprise assault with huge destiny. And if they dont come to space, you throw your ties into the asteroid field to destroy them. and then retrieve them again
So many good ones. You highlighted the destiny adders but Don’t Get Cocky is probably my favorite; not only is it stupid with EPP Han (4 destiny with any Luke) but I’ve used the “destroy a TIE” to great effect in space.
During a recent retro 2 person starting set game I got blindsided by an "I've got a bad feeling about this". My opponent did some tactical deployments and movement to swing the battle in his favor and I paid double the damage. I've been a shell of a person since.
My best combo was always any ion cannon with Combined Attack. Best and nearly only way to take Executor (or most other ships) down easily without extended fighting.
I dont know why, but i really enjoy Sandwhirling a main like Vader at a nonunique desert since the Sandwhirl has nowhere to travel. Players dont usually have a good way to 'find' him and hes basically left in the dust
Any card that manipulates your opponent's deck, The Birh Shuffle, Omni Box to mess with their tracking. Or if you want to get really fun, Sabaac, but not in a battle, unless you're Jonny Chu.
I use a lot of those in my decks. Some are in specific decks, like fallen portal, il a Tatooine deck, with a lot of heavy rebels (Han, Leia, Chewie,... with their weapon include) and for surprise assault, i remember playing it in a jedi test deck. When you've done some of the training, you draw a specific number for destiny and this card was realy usefull in it, with an automatic 6 or 7 destiny, it's a killer. Some of the cards you talk about are in dual card. One i use a lot is control and tunel vision, taking wath you need in your activate force pile is just powerfull.
I would like to add further support to one of your picks. Tallon Roll is particularly nasty for a knockout punch not just because of the sudden loss of one starfighter, but more importantly you can do this to a specific target to prevent them from having enough ability to draw battle destiny at the location. Even more effective if you've done it on their turn and they were the ones to initiate the battle. The sudden force loss could leave them with having to choose between forfeiting everything there, opening them up to a force drain, staying at the location for you to battle them on your own turn (they may not have enough force left to move), but you can also target the highest forfeit value starfighter in the system to reduce the amount they can mitigate. I'm not sure that "Search and Destroy" and "Uncontrollable Fury" really meet the criteria. They're specifically slow burn cards. Sure, they're hard to deal with and I'm in no way saying they're not effective at draining your opponents force. But the category was knockout punches. All the other examples were more along the lines of a huge amount of force loss at once to end the game, but "Search and Destroy" and "Uncontrollable Fury" are just instances of 2 force over a longer period of time. In their place, I'd probably have "Trooper Charge" or "All Power To Weapons".
good comment, and good point, should really have been more about big battles. I've Got A Bad Feeling About This, should have been in the list. I just get tilted when they have the slow burn cards I know I cant counter
@@fatty777 Oh absolutely! I have Visage of the Emperor in my starting setup for my "Hunt Down and Destroy The Jedi" deck which has them losing a Force at the end of each person's turn and every time I play it they start obsessing over how they can't do anything to stop it.
Boonta Eve Podrace and Watto's Box, boom 22 force swing! Kidding, had to bring some cringe. Legendary Starfighter was a fun one. Someone has the Ghhk or plays around the Superfalcon a bit, so you just catch them for 2 a turn instead. But First Strike and Draw Their Fire were my favorites. First Strike with Scum, throw aliens down and battle all over and get a 4 force swing every time. Draw Their Fire with Frozen Assets was just unfair in like a Throne Room mains deck.
A friend once used emergency deployment to deploy two star destroyers for free against me. I was very gun shy about attacking lone characters abs starships after that.
Used Force Lightning to reduce captive Luke's defense by 4 to then use Vader's Lightsaber with Sniper to try to Young Fool him out of play against my brother last Saturday... Vader missed with two 1s 😆
I really liked cards like Trooper Assault and All Power to Weapons as blow out cards. I don't how good they actually are, or even if I was playing it right (can you play more than 1 per battle?) but I remember somehow moving 2 troopers as a react to a battle, where I had a couple more troopers, getting me up to 4 ability, then playing 2 Trooper Assaults, giving me +16 power out of nowhere.
I've Got A Bad Feeling About This is another damage tripler, and it's in a battle you initiate, so a little easier to control. I've lost to it in a knockout punch!
*Run, Luke, Run for tricking an opponent into attacking a site. Sure, Vader's Obsession can cancel it, but with a 60 card limit and however many cards in all of the editions, can your opponent always have it in their hand or even in their deck?
Ahh yes the It could be worse / its worse wars... that was really big in the early versions before more significant strategies came to play. I recall that as a kid against my friends... we would stack like 3 copies of the its worse and try catch our buddies with the abusive it could be worse usage.. it also was great for destiny abuse lol..
Massassi Base Operations / One In A Million Set Your Course For Alderaan / The Ultimate Power In The Universe Play them against each other !!! super fun or just 2 hoth theme decks (no objectives) is really fun too
one of the highlight of my life and I was just observing. Having no sleeves on the cards makes the opponent so aggressive, and it a 40-50 person LOCAL tournament back in the day.. oh they were the days
plus we were 13-14 years old, playing 20 year olds, they see a kid with no sleeves playing random priemere cards in a P-SE tourny hahaha, they will attack tagge with comlink. plus we had the starting location be something stupid like Mos Eisley
That KIller Instinct Combo Soundbite during It's worst
made my heart smile
thank goodness someone got the reference!! Thunder and cinder are my boys. Damn fulgore
I am more of a collector than a player, enjoy watching these videos on strategies and deck tech.
These are truly the best ever videos made on the star wars ccg.
Thanks so much supprr!
So happy with your top pick. Back in the day I used to play merry havoc with them on my friends whenever we played.
great videos. its great to see star wars ccg is still alive and you making videos.
Great video! As someone just getting back in to the game I found this very informative. I also like how many of these are done with C/U cards rather than Rares!
Tallon roll is still super strong at Bespin cloud city with the cloud TIEs, my favorite place to use it now. Great video!
I'm shocked that Clash of Sabers/You Are Beaten didn't make the list - they should be near the top. Even more so, Lateral Damage is such a killer!

Love the videos. Didn't follow the meta back when Decipher was making cards. This helps a ton!

two of the most frustrating cards haha

Solid refresher for cards, just got back into the game and some for sure additions ill keep in mind for when i start building decks again!
Absolutely love it. I think the random roast is my fav

great comment, my childhood described in a post
What a bunch of great ideas! I'm such a noob when it comes to game combos. Thanks, fatty! 🤜🤛
Atmospheric assault plus all power to weapons, one of my favorites in my tie deck not a great deck but pretty fun

If anyone should be the mayor of the Star Wars CCG, it should be you.
Evolution on all of imperial sites to choke force generation. Happened to me on GEMP and didn’t play another game on their for 7 years
Destiny adders and tripling the eventual damage is always a fun way to do it. Chewbacca Enraged also great to use with this.
This is awesome love the channel!!!

hahah so risky!!! emergency deployment should have been on the list..
Definitely used the dark Jedi presence and counter assault a time or two lol
Gotta add trooper assault to the dark jedi presence!
Love high speed tactics with blast points with scouts and their blasters!
oh good one, didnt even think of that!

should have put it on the list! forgot about i!
I made my buddy too paranoid to play It Could Be Worse after multiple It’s Worse blowouts. I always tried to get a copy in any dark side deck.
hjahah classic
Tallon Roll was extremely overpowered. Glad it got nerfed.
I just drew an Obi-Wan’s Cape in GEMP’S Panh Sealed.
its a sign!

Midge with E-11B and a houjix. Knock air-body off.

What are some objectives do you recommend to play a fun game?
Massassi Base Operations / One In A Million
Set Your Course For Alderaan / The Ultimate Power In The Universe
Play them against each other !!! super fun

It's Worse haunts my dreams
Do you play any other card games?
na, mostly board games, used to play magic, stccg, young jedi
