- While the first of this month's batch of videos is up for Patrons, I'm going to see about re-uploading some of the videos that either didn't make it to UA-cam due to copyrights and/or were taken off Dailymotion. That includes the "Arc-V Impressions" videos from a long while back. Title Card by Viga of starlightv.devi...

Judith was actually supposed to sing Anne-Marie's song, but she couldn't do it because the lyrics pretty much reminded her that this was her life for real because of how horrible her dad was, and it made her cry so hard she had to have an emergency visit with a psychologist. This particular character must've been painful for Judith to voice because she was so relatable.
Judith must have wanted to be adopted SO MUCH. Anything for a better dad.
I wouldn’t blame her. And he took her life too soon. not only is that saddening, but also the fact that she never got to have a good life and future for herself, God bless her soul.
Charlie made the ultimate sacrifice that's the whole point of the movie that's how he gets back into heaven 😬
What about Carface then?
That's different. Charlie went back to heaven, because he touched the clock, meaning he's gonna have to earn it. Carface is in Heaven, because the title said so.
One thing that I found interesting despite it taking a backseat characterwise, Itchy actually has a packrat thing going: in that he seems to care more about his possessions then his own life at times. Like in the beginning, he wants to take his tools with him when they mess up the jail break attempt: and Charlie actually tells him "forget about your stuff- I'll get you NEW stuff"
Also when Itchy meets Charlie after hes killed, and thinks hes being haunted- whats the first thing he does to try to appease him? he starts giving him his stuff.
Itchy's very much a materialist. Sadly, they dont work with that later on...
R.I.P. to the three voice stars: Judith Barsi, Dom DeLuise and Burt Reynolds. Plus Vic Tayback.
With Burt gone literally EVERY ACTOR who voiced a character in the series is dead.
At least all three are in heaven together
You have to admit, the voice acting in this movie was some of the best in an animated film. Especially from Charlie and Itchy.
As for it sucking that Judith Barsi was murdered before this movie was released, guess what: her favorite role, and the only other animated one she took part in, was posthumous too! Too bad, because Ducky was her favorite role, as I said! I hope Belladonna is enjoying the act of torturing József, while Annabelle blesses Judith and Maria.
Agreed. "They say powerful beings find anger when they have no room for love" How does a human like that even exist?

@@cockerspanielfan56 Ah, right. I kinda forgot that bit.
@@crystalgemgirl731
On the bright side Ducky was kept in The Land Before Time sequels and not removed.
I think if Anne Marie did return someday Ducky's replacement voice actor should be her replacement voice actor too.
Rip Burt Reynold, Dom Deluise and Judith Barshi.
If you think cats get a bad rap in movies just imagine how snakes must feel.
Also if you're looking for a interesting movie featuring "good guy" cats, I might suggest a little oddity called "Sleepwalkers" by Stephen King.
Lindsay Ellis (formerly Nostalgia Chick) interpreted this as a spiritual journey. Since "all dogs go to heaven because dogs are naturally good," Charlie doesn't appreciate the free no-consequence path to Heaven. So Charlie has to actually earn his passage to heaven. And the ending with Carface implies that even he can be redeemed eventually.
Toshimi1043 I wouldn’t even say she’s “formerly” the nostalgia chick. Yes she stopped referring to herself that way but she still analyzes movies the same way.
After 10 years not seeing this film this film has alot of adult themes being gambling, taking advantages of children for their hidden talents and murder.
In my opinion the film is quite creepy to be a children's film. In one perspective Charlie took too much time to understand selflessness or kindness towards anyone until the very end due to his main goal of getting revenge on Carface.
The film would have been more interesting after Charlie's official death going to purgatory (which allows the dead to cleanse themselves and to confirm whether they should enter heaven or hell) since Charlie went to save Anne-Marie and put her safety before his own.
Though I don't understand why Satan appeared from the crimson mist when Charlie went to visit the girl despite the fact Annabelle warned him when turning his heavenly (more like hellish) watch.
Heres one little theory that I just thought of, which was that Charlie did go to purgatory to see judgement. Maybe the authorities (of the after life) reviewed his life and sentenced him to hell due to his many many sinful mistakes, then after judgement day Annabelle forgave what Charlie did and brought him to heaven after discovering his selfless act in the end of the film.
Don't pamper your kids so much, kids CAN see it! or else we only get wussy movies anymore.
Fun Fact: This was released on the exact same day when Disney's The Little Mermaid was released.
Speaking of which, what will it take foir you to review Disney's The Little Mermaid?
DYK:
The Gator King is voiced by the same guy who played OOGIE BOOGIE from nightmare before Christmas?
Deaddy Fazpool cool story bro. you should tell it at parties
Deaddy Fazpool oh! That makes so much sense 😆
That makes sense, actually.
All dogs go to heaven, the story of Charlie who shows his middle finger to Heaven in all the ways.
"The animation is still really damn impressive for the time." BRUH
If you can't appreciate a cel-by-cel animation, and the (may I remind ya) ORIGINAL idea behind this masterpiece whose fame was literally ECLIPSED by the release of The Little Mermaid.... then WTF are we complaining about? This is a classic.
RIP Burt Reynolds

The Best Part of The Review....
The Ice Cream Guy’s Reaction To Everything!
27:42 - 29:35: Media Hunter, people say things that they don't mean it. Do you *really* have to take what Charlie said seriously? For what I see, maybe Charlie was saying that just to get on Itchy's good side again, but it made Ann Marie sad, especially with her child-like innocence, causing Charlie to feel guilty for ever saying that in the first place.
Agree; that's how I all ways viewed it.
YES!
THANK YOU
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 yeah that to
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 I didn't understand that part. That part confused me because I thought Charlie would've learned by now.
I agree with all of you, but can you blame Media Hunter, judging by taking a closer look at how Charlie was behaving before Anne Marie got sick?
I watch this movie when I was a kid and I still watch it today and are you going to do a review for the second one and am just curious?
I just realized Charlie's dad is name Burt R. Barkin (Easter eggs am I right?)
and his mother is Loni A. Bowser (obviously after Reynolds wife at the time Loni Anderson)
@@SweenyTodd98 And Loni Anderson is the same woman who voiced Flo in the movie as well.
@@SuperCodywebb
If All Dogs Go To Heaven had a prequel movie where Charlie is a baby puppy that be so cute and adorable and it would have Belladonna as the hidden main antagonist.
R.I.P Burt Reynolds
Great review as always. This is one of my favorite movies, although it did take me a long time to really warm up to it.
Maybe you should review Cujo, as a polar opposite to the dog protagonist movies.
Burori1 it also makes bats look bad
And it makes dogs rabies look more disgusting than it already is
@@alieninvaider Oof, this comment didn't age well today.
NickyVendetta it aged just fine as far as I’m concerned bats always get the blame for everything. Plus covid -19 was made in a lab that has been proven it never came from bats. Just another excuse to blame something Innocent.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 I’m not blaming bats for anything. I’m defending them.
Maybe, the dogs pay off the humans that run the junk yard.
I used to watch this movie when I was a kid, still to this day I love this movie for nostalgia
👍🤩
I remember watching this too
To be fair Charlie is saying that because itchy it the truth. He does care. heck she choose to be with him and he didn't need her at that point. She was need to jump start his business. He was better then Carface.
Review timon and pumbaa tv show please
Ah one of me fav childhood movie I would watch this with my dog in car trips to places as a smol child a lot
I do remember that movie a while back ago... funny thing is that this and Cats don’t Dance both take place in the 1930s, as well the Addams Family too, we got some characters going back and forth.
WHAT?! She was murdered?! You've GOT to be kidding me!
No, he's right. Judith was murdered. Now she's in a better place. 😔
@@ChelseatheCreativeFox-pc2xz nope shes just dead heaven isn't real
@matthewjones2095 SHUT UP JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE EDGY DOESN'T MEAN OTHER PEOPLE CAN'T BELIEVE IN HEAVEN
The nightmare scene is STILL the scariest part of the movie for me. Holy shit
I honestly wondered why Annabelle (aka the pink dog which I assume she is a Greyhound dog based on her design) never had a name until the sequel. Don’t get me wrong I am glad she has a name regardless but I don’t know why but I preferred if she was nameless since for some reason the name Annabelle doesn’t fit her.
I don’t know if that is just me but that is my opinion.
Hey guys, Burt Reynoldshad just passed away, so I can assume just how awkward watching this movie is gonna feel from now on.
That's Ken Page playing the Gator King; the same man who did Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas

I liked this movie
In fact it’s my favorite Don bluth movie of all time!
But I’m fine if you weren’t fond of it
I don't know why but Anne Marie reminded me to a younger Snow White, you just see their similarities in appearance and clothing
Well maybe it vase intentional since aside from Don Bluth the only man hating them this much is Jeffrey Katzenberg.
I think the reference to the lion and lamb was a bible verse, probably found in Revelations.
Did anyone notice that Charlie isn't in any of the black and white pictures that have Ann Marie the puppies and her future parents
THANK YOU IM SO TIRED OF THE CAT VILLAINS AND "GOOD DOG" TROPE YOU JUST EARNED A SUB (:
I thank god for this amazing reviewer 😀😀😀
I'm not religious, nor am i an atheist, but i do enjoy this movie since i love dogs. Though Charlie did need more time to develop his character a bit. And i feel bad for the voice actress of Anne Marie for being killed by her father.
Was Ann Marie's singing voice provided by Jenny from Disney's Oliver & Company?

It came out before it though
can you please review the 4 live action scooby doo movies?
Technically, it's not wiether you are good or bad to go to Heaven it is weither you Believe Jesus died, and rose again, yes, you have to follow what Jesus taught i.e love your neighbor as yourself, but Heaven and Hell are not decided by actions. Sorry, I've just seen the good/bad heaven trope too many times.
He probably didn't mention it because he didn't want to get into the whole "Christianity real-or-not" argument that's going on right now. Who could blame him really? I don't even like getting into the arguments either, and I'm a Christian who likes to defend his faith.

True, True
jayblade2000 hey you! This is not a place to preach😑
CW AMVS ok hold up! You have to RESPECT everyone’s beliefs whether you believe it or not. It’s called CURTESY!
No, that's not true either. Its a mix of acion + believe, dear! Believing in jesus is one criteria, but not the only one. As stated in the bible: 'faith without the work is dead' and 'one shal be punished based on his works'. It's as you yourself said: you have to follow jesus and what he taught, which is an action. And don't even get me started on the numerous things you can do to let you go to hell either.
So, yes. heaven and hell ARE decided by also actions. Believing alone aint gonna cover you, otherwise it be pretty easy to get into heaven right?
Ya know in this video when I saw Charlie saying good bye and going to heaven a tear ran down my cheak
the swedish dub for this movie where a bit better with the songs....but I really liked this movie..the second movie though were a bit darker and the devil cat was the only thing I liked from it. This first movie is one of my favorites..by Don Bluth the other ones are tha land before time and the secret of nimh. the funny part in the second though is when the dogs go to heaven; the cats go straight to hell, very cleaver, very cleaver..well I am a cat lover so I go to hell.
Huh? 🤨

All those years, I thought I had seen this movie... now I realize I must have seen the sequel instead xD I am pretty sure I hadn't seen any of this, and that the movie I remember starts with Charlie already being in heaven.
31:16
Because he gave his life up and saved Anne Marie, of course.
Carface reminds me of Sykes from Oliver and Company
Anne Marie is a true angel and RIP Judith Barsi is eternally the worlds angel
They should reconsider giving all dogs getting a free pass to heaven whenever bad dogs like Carface exist.
this is Judith barsi's final Role Before she and her Mother was sadly Murdered by her Father
7:20 and That’s how the isekai was invented!
8:15 well, to add validation to all dogs being naturally good, loyal and kind, the saying I believed is tied to dogs servitude towards humans who take care of them. Dogs naturally are loyal to humans without question when they are cared for by people.
This is proven with both Charlie and Carface, who although used Ann-marie, were protective and caring for her, since she did provide a means of nuture for them in running their casino. 14:58 this is why carface was so protective and wanting to get her back, since in a way he did care about her. She was the reason his business success skyrocketed and he loved her for doing that.
Also, since heaven is technically a sanctuary for humans in which passage into the kingdom is governed by judgement of how one treats god's children (man) based on conduct, animals are not penalized based on how they treat one another since heaven has no rule against it . So animals killing off one another would not count as a sin.
This is why charlie was forgiven and allowed back into heaven in the end, since he proved his loyalty to ann- marie by saving her. Heaven could care less about him and carface's beef.
Are you crazy? Carface never cared about Anne-Marie! He only used her ability to understand animals to raise up his business; nothing more. Plus, he's terrifying and I can sense that she may have been afraid of him all her time. And Charlie? Well, I don't know about him. Media Hunter was right; he doesn't have a believable arc where he went from a sneaky dog who wants to get revenge to a loyal one who eventually cares a out someone who's in need of a better living condition. So what was the point of him saying that he doesn't care about Anne-Marie all of the sudden, blabbing out the entire truth about the situation only for Anne-Marie to hear, when Itchy stated he cares about her until we saw Charlie redeem himself when he saved Anne-Marie and apologize to her before he went off back into Heaven? I thought that he'd learn by now and know what is the right thing to do. It's like that we didn't see what he learned from knowing that Anne-Marie has pneumonia and when the nasty truth was revealed, it didn't feel earned at all until the very end of the movie. So yeah, the reviewer was right. It was a very weird and very late development for Charlie Barkin to go through in his experience.
@@ChelseatheCreativeFox-pc2xz
Yeah unlike Carface Charlie really cared about Anne Marie and gave her stuff she needed or wanted.
Plus Anne Marie is lucky he got out because she still be crying and living under Carface's rules if he hadn't.

I can imagine I Rex feeling guilty for everything she did but Blue's sisters and the dead dinosaurs and humans forgave her since she only tried to find her place and didn't understand.
