I'm genuinely more and more underwhelmed by this set the more I see of it. This seems dangerously similar to the mess that was the BRO collector boxes. And I hate everything about this because I genuinely want to love this set. But realistically? Most of the Multiverse "Legends" come from recent sets, and they seem to just be everywhere in these packs. I've gotten at least one collector box from every set since Ikoria, and I think this set breaks that streak. Just genuinely disappointed in almost every way outside of a good handful of the new cards from the actual set. Regardless of my personal opinion of the product, great opening, and thanks for sharing the video. It continues to help people make informed purchase decisions going forward.
As a long time EDH player myself this bonus sheet is amazing and I am actually more excited to open from it then the main set. Monetary wise the set is not great, but I would say that would be more because of the main set that feels too similar to Brothers War to me with very few exciting cards. Would be really suprised if the 13% chance of your Multiverse Legend Mythic being Ragavan or Atraxa and further 53% chance to get a respectable EDH or modern staple would be the thing that makes these packs not worth it.
@Ondřej Bronec Again, just my personal opinion on the MUL. I own literally all but one of these cards as a massive EDH player, and I stand by my statement that most of them are bland choice from recent sets. Do you know how many companion cards I own from Ikoria? I didn't particularly care for them then, and they were all over the place in this case. I sold both copies I owned of Ragavan because while ok in Commander, his place is in 60 card formats that I don't play. As the "chase" card from that list, it just doesn't impress me. I say all that to say that if others are excited about the MUL list, that's awesome! Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that. But I'll hold to what I said. I may grab a Set Box or two of this set to grab most of the cards I want from the actual set, and that'll be that.
@@GeorgiaTechPhenom Yeah set boxes and draft boxes seem to be great in this - the multiverse legends not taking up a rare slot benefit them greatly. I understand your point of view. I always want only like 3-4 cards per standard legal set, so they don't excite me. On the other hand I am very happy for every Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or Ragavan in my collection. I always can jam them into decks or trade them for whatever I need. That said I prefer to buy 5 set boosters instead of a collector booster and prefer even more to just draft the set so we are likely just very different people. Hopefully the next set will be more fun for you!
Man I want all of the monowhite cards but I know my LGS' literally won't have them in stock as singles for like a year. Still barely have any cards from newer sets. It stinks.
@@RipAndShip Thats so strange.. so it's just a 'fake'? I kind of feel if they were going to use the same treatment, make them part of the series or don't bother at all...
@Ollie Patterson they simply designed treatments for every plane the characters represented are from. Since Kaladesh already had a variant, they used it for inspiration. It makes sense if you're not thinking of it as an Invention.
@@BillyTheFridge I am trying to see it that way but it just seems like a simple way for WOTC to cash in on a successful product. Why use the same treatment and not have it be part of the inventions set? It weakens its appeal imo
We usually stream Monday and Thursday at 8:30 PM Eastern, but this week we are streaming both tonight, Tuesday and Thursday. People purchase packs on our website, www.moonshotgamestore.com/live. Only packs listed on that pack (listed as MOM: Collector Pack and MOM: Set Pack) can be opened on stream. We've been selling out, but still have some set packs for tonight listed. We'll restock for tomorrow night's stream at 2:00 PM Eastern tomorrow.
This set looks like a dumpster fire for collectors boxes. I usually buy 2-3 collectors boxes of each set & this one just seems subpar on the pulls. The packs seem awfully similar to brothers war where it contained too many artifacts & too few actual set cards. The multiverse legends cards seem to make the bulk (figuratively & monetarily) of each box. It’ll be interesting to see how the set boxes do on mass openings. But as of right now, I’d have to pass on these collectors boxes.
Its more of a lotto ticket then bro. Good or bad. Ragavan and other playable creatures and the praetors will crush the prices of artifact serials and transformers.

They are not his cards, they need to be shipped out to the new owner first before any selling can happen. But yeah agreed, Ragavan prices likely to plummet in the coming months. Glad I showed restraint in purchasing my copies. Honestly don't think that even if the owner could he would be able to sell them at current prices - they are just sellers coping with the fact that the price will drop. I don't think most people are willing to buy for this much, when they can be literally pulled from a Standard legal draft pack.

something that really bugs me is how it is possible for people to open these boxes up when they should not be available for any consumer before the intended release date. i work in sales too and normally in my company and for our products this would be considered embargo breach which is basically breaking law & contract with the producer of these cards. unless they specifically allow this to happen, which i cannot imagine. the reason why i cannot imagine this is rooted in the fact that we have serialized cards in this set and allowing people to open up products before release basically lowers chances for anyone buying them at official release, to get one of the serialized ones. this means there is an unfair distribution in this product to begin with. i dont think any company wants to send out these signals to its customers. if that is the case, then you are doing something actually nobody watching this, should be happy about, because it takes away from other peoples chances, who are not as fortunate as having access early on to these products. hopefully that is not the case, otherwise, i am going to stop watching this channel and normally there should be a lawsuit for this case.
This is expressly allowed. We are not allowed to open any product on video until after the full card image gallery is posted. After that, we are allowed to presale packs (which we have done here) and can open them for customers to see what they get. However, we CANNOT and DO NOT ship product until the allowed shipping date. We don't ship until prerelease day, April 14th. Additionally, people getting to see what is in their packs/boxes they preordered does absolutely nothing to change the chance of anyone else getting a serialized card. These individuals preordered these packs just like people preordered boxes sealed. They are already accounted for. The only difference is we know what is in them. The thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of boxes Amazon sold all are already in the same circumstance. Likely hundreds or thousands of serialized cards are in them, they just aren't opened or videoed for people to know. Also, we allow anyone we can ship to (United States only) to purchase packs on our live stream for these presales. If you'd like to get a pack opened, you can get one, too :)

@@RipAndShip Well then its all good :) Just wanted to be sure this is something that gets approved by wizards of the coast ;) I do still feel like doing it this way is gonna change things up for reselling single cards on market, because this way you can effectively sell sooner and people who are offering them and people who cannot wait for products to officially drop, will always tend to pay more then necessary for some cards. and i also think that before the cards drop there will be quite some overpriced cards on the market, knowing that by reselling them now they can get away with some of these prices, but that is not your fault. Thats just how free market works. There will always be people who abuse their advantage in being first to own something, like for example the playstation 5 situation. Sellers just have to be very sensitive in this aspect in my opinion, so they dont "sell" too much product by preorder, which honestly takes away product from physical market and which can also in a way effectively increase prices, because there is nothing left to place in local stores. The issue in this sense is just that some people already have ownership of a specific part of the sellable amount before it even releases officially, which can change market prices. As customer you will always be left with the pricetag, and if some prices would be regulated and fixed by wizards, this might change. In the end if we fix prices, collectors will not be incentivized to buy the product anymore, because that is exactly the reason why they buy it, as a small investment and because the products are limited. So in the end there is no way you can make everyone happy, leaving it to the free market to decide which card is of what value will in due time regulate it the fairest way for the competitive and the collectors scene.
