With her addressing calligraphy as 'kind of fun' and her talking about how she wants to do other things I'm guessing that she was forced to pursue this above other things, possibly by a family member. I think she's learning to have fun with it just like Eruna. Also she says that she has no intention of devoting her life to calligraphy and that "If I'm going to do it I'll stand beautiful and dignified." the "If I'm going to" tells me that this was not on her plan of things to do with her life.
