Hey, I know. You just got back from Africa, but you got this big black fuzy ball type thing with white tips on it right underneath your chin man, you know, you might wanna get a doctor. Take a look at that or something. Could be some weird, African fungi or fungus or something, man. That's some weird stuff, Brother.

Savage just keeps on truckin, last week I took an old original axis 1 and did a DIY trigger job on it then built a 2800fps round shooting same hole, (6.5 Creedmoor) (140 gr. Gameking hpbt) the gun was purchased new before covid for $300 with $120 rebate, wild for sure!!!
Howzit Who-Tee! Awesome rig that indeed. But us in SA are starved for choice...very limited on both rifles and ammo THIRD TIME LUCKY!!!! Incredible group! SAVAGE just doesn't disappoint. Boots and sometimes clothing as well are sprayed with disinfectant for foot-&-mouth and other diseases ...AND insects, (flies, mozzies, ticks, fleas, etc.) Kills the eggs as well stuck in the grooves of soles and stiching of clothes. Certain farmers in certain provinces, especially when you hunt in and are from different provinces (like the US has states, we in SA have provinces), farmers will spray your shoes and clothing upon arrival and departure
You are correct about not being soft with the bolt motion, if being soft with it you run the risk of not fully locking the bolt, striker can still be released but won't contact the primer and give a false sense of a miss fire.
That’s what I’m talking about! Man I love the tight groups that makes slinging boolots fun . Great time in Africa I know you want ever forget . Good video, Thanks WTW
I noticed that if you overlay all 3 groups that only your 1st cold-bore shot and the 6th shot would be out of a good group. The other 7 shots would be close together :)
Not sure if you have done a video before on that subject, but this ammo rifle combo might be a good test subject for a cold bore shot video. Just take it with you every time you go to the range and fire 2 shots with this ammo first thing. If it consistently shoots one MOA right on the first that would be something to compensate for on longer distance shots
Hey buddy, I have the same rifle/caliber. My trigger was very stiff too but I was able to fix it. For some reason savage put a short/heavy spring inside the normal accutrigger spring. I just removed it and now it breaks clean around 2lbs.
I have the Savage Impulse Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor and it is by far my most accurate rifle. I thought of myself as a 3/4" - 1" MOA shooter UNTIL I got this sub 1/2" maybe even 1/4“ MOA beauty 😊 I love it!!!
Not sure of your barrel profile but I had a sporter barrel in 30-06 and every 3-shot group was the same..Two close and one flyer..I was young and impatient..No barrel cool down..Whole lotta powder in them thar boolots..😂😂
Dang Adam, you are a content creating maniac. Cool your vids are informative n interesting, not the norm out here. Mauser fan so no interest in Savage but thats a sexy slinger that prooved its worth in Afrika. Best n b well
SAVAGE, Has pretty much always had it's ACT TOGETHER. They should have Bought Remington and made it what it once was, as Well as Winchester, because those Two cannot bring their flag ship Rifles back to CONSISTENT QUALITY.
Sometimes more power not always the answer. There's very little a 300 Win Mag will take that a .30-06 won't, at normal distances. The overlap between them is 90% or so.
I have a 700 in 30-06 with a long headspace. I can load long and up my charge to exactly the same as a 300wm. The best of both I guess, I do have to single feed though.
Hello my name is Matt I know this question has nothing to do with this video but I just bought an Eep 5 5/25 by 56 mm it has not come in yet but I want to get rings for it I have a Ruger precision rifle in 308 and don't know to if to go with the hirings or the our style mount what do you think by the way this video does kick Ace keep on rolling
@@WHOTEEWHO Ya that is the plan just didn't know if the 56 mm would hit the rail but I know you would not steer me wrong and you have a lot of experience with Arkin on many different platforms so thanks a lot and also appreciate the 25% discount code you give really helps out
Maybe it prefer a hotter barrel , since I’m sure Africa is HOT ! The first group was cold barrel even though the first shot was dead on . Just my observation
Just when i almost lost faith in the internet. I get one these 👌 from ol hootie and yesterday i had this crazy idea to run an ao scope on my ar w a red dot mounted at 90 and i found a dude on youtube that had the same idea 6 yrs ago and i told id decided to do that before i saw his video. This interweb thing is perdu cool. Anybody know where i can buy a hockey mask to deflect brass for this 90 degree red dot mount im gonna test :)
Does Burris make one of those scopes in thermal but with the same ballistic features as that one? O If not, do you have one with the same type of ballistic calculating features?
@@WHOTEEWHO Thank you! I haven't really searched yet but just thought I would ask you. Be cool if there was a thermal that would calculate and show where your bullet would go.
@@WHOTEEWHO I know on a regular bolt action when your turn down the bolt handle ,the bolt rotates and it locks into place.. how does this gun lock the bolt?

Otherwise straight pool and accurate barrel for hobby LR shooting and hunting is something nobody offer. Couse i am looking for my first rifled barrel and want to be only one for everything local hobby competition and hunting in 308 or 30-06 for slightly more power and extreme long barrel life couse untill i learn how to use it will do 2000 rounds and that in 6.5cm is end of its life while in 308 is just first baby steps and another 8k-10k to go
Not really. ARs use a rotating bolt. The Savage uses a camming action using ball bearings that surround the bolt face to lock up, clever and effective.

30-06, the OG Magnum cartridge. Glad to see it group so well.
Boringly versatile caliber, but an undeniable performer. 🙂

Some life long memories with this rifle. 👌💯
I've been thinking on an Impulse Elite Precision model in .300 PRC. Been wondering how fast I could make a 130 grain TTSX go from a 30" barrel...🤔
Beautiful idea.
…say 3420fps?
That will be a rocket. My bet is 4000 fps. My 300 wsm pushes that bullet at 3500. 7” more barrel with more go berries 4K is possible
Why ? A 30 inch barrel ? Lmao .
cute lil birdies chirping in the background, sounds peaceful
That last group was definitely sub MOA. Just take it a little to the right. I really like the straight pull of the bolt.
This is the bingbang I've had my eye on from the beginning.

Very impressive rifle.
I’d appreciate your take on the Beretta BRX straight action rifle.
Very Nice ! But for now I'll stay with my go wild ruger, which needs a shusher...
Those are nice scopes
Yup
I love my eliminator scopes, I have a few of the 3s and want the 6 but having trouble convincing myself to shell out 26 hondos for one
I have the impulse hog Hunter in 308 for deer hunting in NY
Nice
Going from shooting a lightweight trigger in a light weight gun to shooting a hunting rifle (magnum with a heavy trigger) can be a bit of a challenge.
I want one of these in a seven PRC but it must have a 24 inch barrel. Savage I’m still waiting.

Sweet videos WTW! Have you done a review video on savage axis gen 2
Thanks for watching. Many videos on the savage axis
O.K. As Jim Eagleman showed, it may take 6 shots to re-settle a bore after a good cleaning. Did you scrub it after your trip?
Did not clean
I want one of these in 6.8 western in the worst way! If only.....
You mentioned that the trigger is a little heavier. In your opinion, would it be worthwhile to spend the money for a timney trigger for this unit?
Fine for me as it is for hunting. Personal preference I guess

I have been watching your videos for a long time wtw anyway it's about time you slow down a little bit anyway
Can't. Bills to pay
Did you clean the rifle when you got home? 6 shots to foul the barrel is pretty normal
I did not
Not really extended range…inside 300 yards is point blank range for the good old 30-06. Doesn’t have to group stellar for hunting at those ranges.
When the video on your AB3 Stalker Long Range coming to UA-cam? That beautiful 300 Win Mag.
