Jimmy Diresta: / jimmydiresta
A neat project that does double duty - a handy outfeed support for the table saw, and when flipped over, a stand for my bench grinder. It has bin storage in the bottom as well.

Extremely funny !! Thank you for the tribute !!! As a kid on my framing gig we would always play w the nail guns to see how far you can shoot and still get the nail to stick !!! So funny that u did that ! Love and respect !
jimmydiresta Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks even more for being a good sport about it and taking it the right way - I'v got nothing but respect for you and your projects!
Thanks again brother !!
Love the speed work like Jimmy does
But need more epic dramatic slow mo.
Slowness waste the viewers anxiety to see the results
Nice one John, I like you made the feet adjustable, great idea !!
Colin
WoodWorkWeb Thanks Colin!
John Heisz Yeah, the adjustable feet were a great idea!
And btw the piece you made was great unit ! Ill use some if that build
Tx u
So funny, thanks... Oh the build was great too hehe :-D
You hit it spot on on John. The lifting of the too wide workpiece on the SCMS, is a DiResta trademark. But I missed the "Heisz" template spraypainted on the floor at the end there, but you´ve got your branding iron which is even cooler. Great project and video
The combination of several great ideas all in one project has created such a useful, compact and unique finished result. From the leveling apron to the most simple approach to supporting, marking and nailing a sturdy shelf, this video demonstrates the the power of the individual functions and also the sum of those functions.
The project looks great! It really came to together. I agree with others 4:15 was hysterical!
The quick draw of the nail gun and the knife push stick were great touches. Well played, well played.
I always learn something in your videos, John, but I have to say that the "using a forstner bit as a marking gauge" thing at 3:21 just totally blew my mind.
Oh this is brilliant! You got the Deresta rough-and-ready spin perfectly. Love it.
To watch your videos is much better entertainment than a TV show. THX!
Never thought you and Jimmy Diresta made the same type of vids but this is gold! Thanks.
My favorite part of this whole build is that you combined 2 completely different needs into 1 project!!! I would have never put together an Grinder stand with an outfeed table yet this works perfectly! very nice!
04:15 through 04:20 is my favorite clip of this video approach. Thanks John Heisz! Nice job!
Big fan of Jimmy's and your work, so I loved this video! Looks like you had fun making it!
Kinda reminded me of the old slapstick comedies, I enjoyed it. Tributes to you both. Hands down cool build !!
Let Jimmy Diresta do his thing and he's good at it. You're very innovative with the projects u do and the quality shows in the finished product. DON'T CHANGE the method of your builds cause they're great and your unique in your own way. Thanks for all the videos u make, keep normal filming mode going. thanks John
It's called an homage, and it was excellently done. If you think John's actually considering changing to this style then you've lost your mind.
Great work. Really like how the out feed is angled so the wood your cutting won't catch on the edge... the adjustable feet are a clever touch too, will have to remember that.
Great video John. The nail gun shoot out and knife push sticks especially gave me a chuckle.
You sir, have made my day. Fantastic production. Really hope Jimmy appreciates the homage like I do. You guys both make me want to go to my shop and create something awesome. Thanks!
Loved it! Was also looking for the 'I Build It' insignia to show everywhere. Now you need to get the cat and chickens! Wig! keep up the great work!
Love this video. Thumbs up to both you and jimmy diresta. Whom I look up to for great ideas and carpentry tips. You guys keep posting the videos and I'll keep watching and supporting them.
Brilliant job. Thanks for taking us along on the build....
Brad
Not only I do enjoy the work and plan for project but I also do learn a better safe and neat way of working with tools and using space I am not a professional wood worker though but I very much love the way that John( the artist of I BUILD IT)looks at the things and material around him, kind of living Zen Wowwww, thank you very much for this amazing video.
I like the leveling system.
krtwood Thanks, I've used it on a few projects with great results.
Probably my favorite flip/rotation mechanism, even after the proliferation of this kind of unit on UA-cam.
John, this was just great. I enjoy all of your videos, but this was taken to a new level. Very enjoyable.
At 4:20 you had me cracking up! Jimmy would be proud, John! Thumbs up, all the way for a great project and extremely satisfying content!
I really like the self leveling feet. What a genius idea.
Nice project, I particularly like the hinged top. Very nice.
Nice homage to jimmy. Nice design.
That was Awesome!!! I hope Jimmy gets to see this.
Good fun video, it points out the best thing about the UA-cam woodworking community - that everyone has their own style. Whether it's you, Mathias, Diresta, Izzy, Ramsey, April, Linn or Frank Howarth you all have something of your own to bring to it and it makes it great for us to watch, keep it up.
I like your "Jimmy Diresta" style of editing. You did a nice job. I think he would like it too.
Great idea for space saving John, thanks for sharing!
Nicely done, thank you for sharing. I think I will try one of these soon, I know this is an older video for your channel, but it is still a functional and fun build, so I am going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week.
Dale
Another great creative build. I like the way you experiment with your video's, always challenging yourself. Thanks John, I really enjoy all your builds.
Terrific idea. And good job too. Congratulations.
Exceptional multi-use stand! Totally enjoyed the video. Now I'm going to have to find some of those Jimmy videos!
Great project and love the levelling feet. You and Jimmy are my favourite channels to watch. Keep them coming. Well done
So much humor in this video that isn't obvious. nice work. and cool out feed contraption.
That was pretty awesome. Good job John!
Great video John. Awesome design! Epic homage to Jimmy...I'm sure he'll love it!
This is an awesome project, I have a small shop so I'm always looking for space saving projects. Thanks
You are the Ninja nailer... 4:17 belly busting laughter! Also love the leveling feet what a great idea.
How much did you love being able to listen to music while you worked?
Shop built It was great. I rarely get to listen to music anymore, so it was a welcome change.
John,
Your videos just keep getting better all the time! I'm a Diresta fan so I had fun watching. I appreciate the humor and all the attention to detail in your videos. I know how much work goes into producing these and I just want you to know that i appreciate the effort. Keep up the great work.
Great design and build, John.
Nice project and vid John. Cool tribute to Jimmy.
Nice work, John I really liked the leveling feet...great idea!
Great video, love watching both of you artists!
I'm not sure who is accusing you of doing Diresta style videos but that for sure was a Diresta video.
Amazing project, it is always a pleasure to watch your videos, thanks for the plans, and share your idea.
Coolest thing I have seen all month (except +jimmydiresta s coffin build) the nail gun stunt had me rolling.
.
Great video. I enjoy the comrade of this community, and hope soon to be able to contribute to it. Thanks for all the videos, and the ideas to make my shop more productive.
Awsome video, I think it is a great asset in your shop. Cool that Jimmy Diresta commented on your video the way he did.
Keep it up.
Awesome as always John... Love the Diresta tribute.
i always enjoy your builds on the channel
You even got the DiResta radio mixed in the background ;). Great job!
Excellent. You definitely got the Diresta vibe.
Two of the very best unique craftsmen that I follow.
Great idea. Ive got 2 bench grinders taking up to much space in my tiny shop. One for grinding and one for polishing instead of out feed table
Great Video and project. Take care Michael
Way cool John, I like the idea.
Brilliant! Lots of laughs at the DiResta Easter-Eggs throughout. Great leveling feet design.
Holy crap fell out of the chair laughing with the nail gun shooting .......now thats some accurate nail work!!!!!!!!! Love it as always Thanks JOHN made my day JOE
Had to watch the long distance nailing twice. That was great! Very funny...
I'm glad to see that even the best of us are plagued by dead batteries and a misplaced support system at times. Kudos to you for keeping it real John.
Awesome as usual John. Thank you so much for sharing.
Great video! Next up -- Frank Howarth style! Open the door, the wood follows you in, goes to the appropriate tool, and voila! Project is complete after it takes a bath in finish. lol John never has to touch a tool.... ;)
I like the levelling feature and the tool rest.
I love the swivel idea!!!
Great idea using the Forstner bit to mark your circles.
Great idea and build. Loved the Jimmy Diresta take too! Just missing Spike the cat. LOL
Loved it! I was wondering when we were going to see the "I build it" on a piece of wood. Great build!
Absolutely love your videos. I can't get enough.
I like all of your projects and how clever they are. I also like what diresta do! If you and diresta will work on a project, i think it will be a master piece!
Yet another great video! I don't know how you continue to come up with cool stuff to build. Love the diresta style too. Well done.
Pivot point is slick, like it!
That is quite perfect, my friend!
watched the video a couple times just to laugh at the nail gun part..great video. nice to see even Jimmy Diresta found it funny. keep doing what you do.
Brilliant build and video.
Fantastic! You had me laughing out loud with the Diresta-isms. And some really neat design elements, too. Well done.
bellissima idea ! sei sempre un grande John !!!
One of the top videos i`ve ever seen , thank you !
Great project and awesome video!
Very Nice grinder ! Congrtas John
Somehow not as elegant recklessness as with Jimmy. :)
Great project and very fun idea this Diresta-thing
Sweet John! Love the ideas!
Thanks for the good ideas. I need to build something similar. I like the trick shooting with the nail gun!
Really enjoyed this kind of video jimmy diresta is a huge inspiration to me as well as you are your videos inspire me to continue out in the shop I just wish I had the skill to make videos
I saw what happened with the errant nail at 5:29. But no judgement here after seeing you accurately shooting nails from across the room. There are a lot of great tips in this video from a simple rotating stand to your leveling feet.
I also appreciate how each of you wood workers can have fun with each other and promote community instead of putting up walls and arguing.
Awesome project!! I will be making something like this soon!!
That was great! Totally Jimmy!
Wow that height adjustable bottom is killer
Love the video. The Diresta feel of the video is pretty cool. Great job
Fantastic work.
Too cool I also have a small shop and I need both myself! Great idea thanks
I watch Jimmy Diresta and i have to say you did a Great job imitating him...nice project also
Excellent build as usual, the DiResta style approach was great fun although I love your normal approach.
Another Greeeat Job!! As Always!!! Congrats!
