      @Jonathan Kent This comment tells me you know absolutely nothing about Ronald Reagan's life prior to his public service life. Reagan went through some very rough years after his divorce from his first wife, Jane Wyman.
      Reagan did things that he wasn't proud of before he found and married Nancy.
      But...back then the country believed in the restoration and redemption of men and women.
      The problem with you is that you sit on your holier-than-thou sanctimonious perch looking down on Trump and Melania without giving him and her the benefit of repentance in their lives.
      Our nation has always been a nation of second chances and forgiveness. And people like you in the world is one of the major reasons why our country is so screwed up.

    • @marciadiehl5733
      @marciadiehl5733 4 роки тому +5

      @Jonathan Kent Spoken like a true Christian hater.
      How tolerant of you?
      You know nothing about Jesus/God or the difference between Him and religion.
      I never turned my back of Jesus and I am the only person in this conversation (?) that actually WORKED on Reagan's 1980 campaign.
      So don't preach to me about Reagan.
      The difference between me and you is that you are so busy judging Trump's life and hating on the man that you aren't paying attention to the real fight that Reagan warned us all about and is now here....the fight against communism that he told us was just one generation away.
      And here we are...worrying about stupid crap instead of what is really important...saving our Republic.
      Go ahead...hate on the man...
      But when President Harris and her Antifa goons come to your front door and drag you out to a re-education camp or worse...think about how you didn't listen to Ronald Reagan's warning.

    • @cianbroderick4145
      @cianbroderick4145 3 роки тому +1

      Marcia Diehl so we can’t judge trump blindly but you are free to make statements like that about Harris’ antifa goons? (Literal anti fascists, sort of like what Reagan was a riotous believer in). Remember when Reagan and his Hollywood goons wasted hours of time in a court because of some actors affiliation with communist thought? Big government doesn’t have to exist when Hollywood are doing all the heavy lifting lol. What did you even like about Reagan’s administration? Yes he was more open to world peace than most republicans (massively low bar there), but held onto unnecessary weapons. Complained throughout his administration about Carter failings when it came to the hostages in the Middle East and yet took him years and a great deal of back door sleazing to do it. Again, like almost all of those in the Republican Party, Reagan confused “common sense” and politeness for pragmatism

Even teeth and lips will disagree once a while and get along each other again quickly again. As the former President Reagan and the former 1st Lady Reagan, they supported each other to govern by our country America’s own established principles together always too. Suddenly the liberals discovered that they were living in their own little bubble and the rest of the country was very satisfied with Reagan's policies and leadership.
      If Reagan were president today, the current media would treat him just as badly as they treat Trump. Because I remember vividly how they treated Reagan when he ran for re-election....and they were vicious to him.

      @John Sylvyn We don't think the Conservatives will save us, we are Conservatives. The difference is we believe God will save us, and He has been doing that. We believe compared to the modern extremist Democrats who are borderline Communist, that Conservative, Republican presidents will uphold the constitution and provide more security than the modern Democrat candidates. For example, instead of abolishing or defunding the police, Republicans want to make sure that our police are taught and given what they need to protect us. Democrats could literally care less about law enforcement.

      Wise up. At 3:45 Nancy instigates the dog's mouthing behavior by flapping and flitting her hand in the pup's face, her body language tense and pulling away, inviting the dog to "come on, get me" - then blames the dog for grabbing the bait she was waiving in his face. Dog training is for the dog OWNERS not the dog alone. Clueless people, without basic common sense. It's clear Nancy is unkind. And in Ronald's last years with Alzheimer's, Nancy was brutally unkind towards him too.

    ''Throwing plates and throwing names''
    I wish I would have learned this 20 years ago. It's ok to disagree. It is never ok to throw plates and throw names. Not for a relationship to stay healthy. Every plate and every name are one nail in a relationship's coffin that can never be removed.

    I can see that a real effort was made by the Reagans to keep their private life and feelings PRIVATE..which could come off to others as not so close of a relationship. Sometimes the best marriages you'll see are the ones where you give one another time and space to be yourself. With that said, when you need each other, you drop everything to be there. God bless RR & NR..I'm sure they are together somewhere today 🙏

    • @jhroomy
      @jhroomy 3 роки тому +3

      @Julie Taylor Your ability to respond to the slightest pro-Republican comments in the whole comment section is quite amazing. What is less amazing is your ability to claim that the modern Republican party is somehow not the same as it was when Reagan, or even Lincoln was in office. Perhaps you're an older Democrat and want to believe your values are still old Democrat values, values that were constitutional and American. Unfortunately, the modern Democrat party in the U.S has gone way too far left, and no longer cares for the constitution, nor for American principles and values. The reason, my fellow American, why you may think you see a difference in the Republican party compared to when Reagan was in office compared to our current (and hopefully for 4 more years) President Trump, is because now there is such a stark contrast between the two parties. Both parties use to have very similar beliefs and both use to stand by the constitution, and use to share similar American values with eachother. But now, unfortunately, modern Democrats have left those things and are now exceedingly Lefist in their beliefs. You say Reagan wouldn't recognize the modern Republican party which is steeped in American values, and seeks to honor not just the constitution but also almighty God (Reagan was a devout Christian man), where in comparison, the Democrats want nothing to do with American values, principles, constitution, or God, let alone Christianity in any form.
      Please open your eyes my fellow American.

  • @mickh1475
    @mickh1475 Рік тому

    The way I see it is he had the world burden on him and Nancy is the Angel to comfort him and helping him hold it all together while he was president. I can see Reagan did not want to put her through any burdens because Reagan loved his wife Nancy so much.
    I can see when it comes down to a president trying his best to do what he was elected for because it was in his heart. I heard his speeches and he had a heart for it in his earlier speeches, the republicans came to him for that purpose and he got voted into office for those reasons. After watching and listening while being seated in the back of the late president bus seats, Reagan as he watched the other presidents changing some of the things he held dear to his heart, I feel the changing of those things was causing an even more weight and a troubled husband because Reagan cared. Reagan after being placed not being president anymore, the watching of other presidents changing things, as they doing differently in ways he has made may have added to the weight on Reagan's mind and I bet Nancy had an even more weight on her shoulders about this and as Reagan's Condition deteriorating, I just can't imagine what she was going through after that. Can't see my self adding more because this is not a book about late presidents lives and about them listening while being alive, what's going on before they are gone.
