Nice over view of the virtual and physical controls, that's great info. I'm still bummed the 4 stereo headphone outs are just physically linked amplified signals of the same sources sent to the XLRs above. I think it's worth pointing out since it is one of the few downgrades (in unique physical outputs) from the X32 Rack. Makes this less of a drop-in replacement.
I should say however, still amazing capabilities at an amazing price! And adding something like a stageconnect IO or an SD8 is really a fine solution-not to mention they both give you back an ultranet port, if that was something you need!

A video would be good but also how some basic, common sense, default routings from the factory would be nice. It took me an hour just to route a Local channel input Mic out to USB and into my DAW. Possibly dumb question. Is it possible in any way to feed an iem transmitter with the headphone outs? Kinda sucks for my use case that we lose the 6 aux outs if there's no way to do that.
Headphone amps are internally connected to XLR outs anyway unfortunately :( You can't send separate signal to them, you can route only to "LOCAL OUTS", so "LOCAL OUT 1 + 2" in software is XLR 1, XLR 2 and Headphone Amp 1/2.
Is it possible to incorporate thing Wing Rack as an FX processing unit with the M32. So for example we are limited to 4 send FX on the M32. Could we use a Wing Rack to get more send FX. How would this be done over AES50?

Hey, does using dynamics plugins (like la2 on a channel) increase latency like in "effects inserts"? What is general latency in insert effects? Is it like in x32 or more? 16 slots is great, but how much latency does it sum? Can you change the source for hedphones outs?
Please tell me how the routing sends to the 4 TRS headphone outputs on the rear panel are assigned. Are they tied to the physical XRL outputs or do they have free routing? If the buses on them are assigned separately from the XRL outputs, then what are the TRS outputs called in the routing output panel? Like auxes?
I like it but it still falls short of how I wish things worked (specifically for me). 32 in 48 out. @@sammyqube AWESOME!!!! So then what is the front panel one for? Why would you need the SD card in the card slot if it can record on the front panel I/O while the back panel USB is for recording to the computer?
Essentially, there are two card “slots” on the wing rack. One looks like the x32 card slot. It comes with the USB card. There is also an internal “slot”. This you can add either a waves card or a Dante card which will installed before shipping to you.

Hey, Drew, quick question for you: if we order the Wing rack from Sweetwater, and it does not have an internal 64 x 64 card, how do we purchase a card and install it in the Wing?
I asked my Sweetwater guy this same question. He didn’t know, but called me back to say that they could install the Dante card, in my case, into it before it ships. He just will charge me for it and the labor to install it.😊
I just got my wing rack. I’m having problems. My EQ and low pass / HP filter not responding. No effect to the sound even when I set it up. Volume control not responding to output and input. What I’m I doing wrong. ?
Please I need one know something about my multitrack record on my XR18, all my effects don’t always coming to my recording sometimes my mix will not come on in my DAW
The wing is a PRO mixer and therefore, flexible, so you decide in the routing section where you want to send your main LR Same thing for internal FX busses, it’s the user who have to set it up But once you have set the mixer for your needs, you can save this setup as a « template » snapshot, and recall it when you start a new patch
@@sebastiencaapi1960 I’m an X32 Rack user and I use outputs 1-6 to handle three stereo IEMs, and then use two of the aux outputs for the 4th stereo IEM. This works very well for us for fly dates/festivals because it means less gear to carry and less expense. Our splitter for FOH is also in the same rack as the X32, so a stage box isn’t required for 4 stereo IEMs. With the Wing, you lose the physical (and, very useful) aux outputs and have to buy a stage box in order to accomplish what we already have with the X32. Reminds me of the 2016 MacBook Pro - a more powerful machine but less ports and no MagSafe power connection. Of course, Apple ultimately added some ports back in 2021 when they released the M1 MacBook Pro. Yes, the Wing is a “pro” mixer, but being essentially pushed into having to buy a stage box in order to accomplish what we already have with the X32’s physical connection options isn’t very thoughtful/helpful for bands that need to keep things very compact and lightweight for airline travel. The Wing Rack is very impressive, and I will be ordering one for non-fly dates and likely as an audio interface for tracking band demos, but I’ll need to have a think as to how best to use it for fly dates. It’s also now a 4 space unit versus three space with the X32, so that also means I will have to buy a bigger SKB Fly Rack - bump up from a 6 space to an 8 space, which means more weight and larger dimensions - more expense. As good as the Wing is, it still misses some very important details for those of us who travel for shows.
My main question: Many of us have spent many hours learning and “perfecting” our scenes. Can we copy our scenes via usb stick from an x32 and move them to the wing rack. Or do we have to learn a whole new system and learn how to create mixes all over again. That would be nightmarish. Ive personally spent soo much time doing this.
Silly question I know....who thought it was a good idea to put the power switch in the back? How are we supposed to power this thing when fully mounted on a rack? Are we supposed to crawl behind every single time?
Hello friend, I want to buy this console, I know that there are 24 input channels and 8 output channels, the question is, to take it to 32 input channels and 16 output channels, I must buy the dL8 or the dn4888, I cannot understand the difference between these two that I mention to you
Yes, it’s basically a Stereo output BUS . The 4 TRS outputs are just more convenient to plug directly a stereo headphone. But this is just the same output as the 8 XLR above, (it’s not 4 extra stereo outputs) When the bus is configured as Stereo, you operate it via 1 fader only
I know this video is about the rack but I kind of feel like the folks who bought the original wing are being left out. Right now there is firmware version 3.0 on the new units but the original wing doesn't have that update as yet. Also the WSG module how do I get it in the original wing..
The new units officially are available, but you have to wait some weeks to get a unit shipped. So, I guess version 3.0 for the existing WINGs simultaneously releases when the first units of the new batch will ship. I guess Drew kind of wrongly explained the SoundGrid-matter, because he just means that there is the possibility to add a Waves expansion card which then can utilise the built-in ethernet ports.
I have just flashed my (grey) wing with the 3.0 firmware and it’s obviously fine :) This is juste the « old » page for the full wing where the 3.0 firmware does not show, if you go to the Full Black wing product page, the v3 firmware is there ! Behringer will update the site, as also for now, you can’t see yet the product page for the WING-WSG wave card …

Hi, it's amol rane from INDIA, first of all I want to tell you that I have a four console, x32, m32, xr18 & ofcourse wing. my all console perfectly working with p16/ turbosound tfx 152 & behringer xtouch except wing, because the lack of ultranet connectivity, I can understand that but what about xtouch connectivity? Sometimes we need more number of faders & it's possible with xtouch, then why can't connect with wing, when xtouch connect with wing or wing rack, it will help for all byers, just think about it! Thank you.
It's a shame that channels don't have independent inserts like the Allen and Heath mixers do. For example, when using Waves/external gear we will either need to send and return the entire channel or burn the 16 FX slots to insert that send and return.
Shame has a price, Allen and heath SQ is almost twice the price of the wing and you have to pay for the extra channel plugins (comp, eq , dynamics), only 8 effect slots, and if I remember corectly, dynamics eq, deeser, and multicomp also burn an fx rack because those addons cannot be used as DEEP processing. The soundgrid card is also more expensive, same thing for the stage boxes, and there is no 32-16 as Behringer and Midas … So honestly, I won’t bother burning 4 fx slots for specific channel, and /or sending an entire channel or Busses if I really need the 16 slots … The wave superrack can replace all the wing channel processing easily. So much money did I will save doing this way 😊 (I sold my SQ5 with all addons 6 years ago)
@@matthewcselby 😁 They have managed to implement bus send to bus, maybe the processing architecture of the wing allow this kind of upgrade also … wait and see !
Behringer should use more transparent language around the 4 rear HP outputs. Drew says 8 XLR outs ‘as well as” 4 HP outputs and nowhere does anyone mention that it’s ‘either/or ‘on the outputs. Each HP out takes away two XLR outs. My Sweetwater rep had to ask multiple times in order to get a straight answer from a Behringer rep in regards to the HO outputs. And in less (again) I’m getting incorrect info from Behringer. They are hardwired to their respective XLR outputs - meaning, if you have need for any more than 4 IEMs or more than just a simple LR for your PA, you need to buy more IO. They handicapped their outputs. My Sweetwater rep was even beside themselves with why they would do that. Before hearing it from Behringer, he thought that surely it was separate.
Don’t get me wrong though! So many great things that this brings to the table…this just seemed like a strange choice and then they don’t really spell out the limitation anywhere.
No way to customize a simple gain knob that I can find. I run karaoke 5 nights a week, and every singer sings different, and I use 5 microphones, so I'm constantly adjusting gains (so each singer hits the compressors appropriately). Getting to the gain setting for each channel takes several steps, and is a pain in my butt. Blah. With Mixing Station the gain is right there (I made a custom layer), or I can tap GAIN on the right column and set gain easily for all of my channels.
Come on ! A radioshack tape deck ? 😂 I don’t know how you use your mixer, but on the wing you can set if you want to use the internal clock, or get it via the AES; same thing for any devices connected to, an amplifier, a stage box, a soundgrid network, you have to set it up correctly. Anyway, on midas PRO series, you have the word clock in and out, but not at the same price point obviously 😊 You get what you pay for, and with this wing series, how can you complain ?
Hi! Thanks for the review! The description says: 2 Ethernet ports with built-in switch for networked remote control and optional AoIP via Waves SoundGrid and Dante. Do I have to pay extra to use this feature or is it all included in the basic set of Wing rack? 🥹
All you will have to pay for is the internal module, the built in switch for AOIP and ethernet control is ready to do the job on ALL wing platforms, no need to pay for a feature upgrade if it’s what you where wondering

@@pipelineaudio of course you’re correct. SD card on the ext “slot”, not USB . The USB “port” on wing rack is for sending to DAW, iirc. Thanks for the correction. I have been told that the two RJ outlets on the wing rack, when Dante installed inside, will not function yet until an update comes from Behringer. Why? I don’t know.
Hi! Please give me the factory firmware for the Wing Rack. Version 2.x. Is needed to update the external Dante card. On 3.x, it does not work in the Dante controller.
You can download it by USB cable.
Are the headphone outputs tied to the 8 XLR Outputs on the back of the Wing Rack or can then all be used simultaneously? Due to reasons that are too stupid to explain, I need 19 XLR Outputs plus 5 Stereo headphone outputs for IEMs (29 Outputs in total). I’m wondering if I’m going to need one Midas DN4816-O or two in order to get this done?
My questions are: is the xtouch compatible w this? Also are the S and SD stage boxes compatible w this mixer?
Hi
I don't have a WING console myself, but read in a different comment, you should be able to control it with a X-Touch when using MixingStation. Officially by Behringer it's not supported (yet).
The S and SD stage boxes should work with the unit...
Hola buenas tardes, me gustaría que hicieras un vídeo explicando la función de copiar y pegar en la consola Wing con la última versión de firmware 3.0.4 ya que estoy un poco confundido de cómo realizar esta acción. Muchas gracias de antemano.
How can I connect a p16-m to this device??
Hey, Drew, quick question for you: if we order the Wing rack from Sweetwater, and it does not have an internal 64 x 64 card, how do we purchase a card and install it in the Wing?
I asked my Sweetwater guy this same question. He didn’t know, but called me back to say that they could install the Dante card, in my case, into it before it ships. He just will charge me for it and the labor to install it.😊
Yups, want 😂 just need a black x-touch to color coordinate (and take away the 90's vibe 😂)
I just got my wing rack. I’m having problems. My EQ and low pass / HP filter not responding. No effect to the sound even when I set it up. Volume control not responding to output and input. What I’m I doing wrong. ?
Did you do the assignment screen thing? I remember reading about that yesterday as I’m researching this mixer
I got it to work. I just needed more time figuring out the unit. Work great. 😊
Please I need one know something about my multitrack record on my XR18, all my effects don’t always coming to my recording sometimes my mix will not come on in my DAW
can you tell me where is the main out put
I'm wondering the same thing, especially if I also need to use the 8 outputs to create 4 stereo in-ear monitor mixes.
The wing is a PRO mixer and therefore, flexible, so you decide in the routing section where you want to send your main LR
Same thing for internal FX busses, it’s the user who have to set it up
But once you have set the mixer for your needs, you can save this setup as a « template » snapshot, and recall it when you start a new patch
@@raygringoif you need more than 3 stereo in-ears alongside a MAIN LR section, then you will need a stage box
A little bit pity that the headphone jack can't be patched separated from XLR outputs above e.g. Bus 1-8 for XLR's and Bus 9-16 for phones...
My main question:
Many of us have spent many hours learning and “perfecting” our scenes.
Can we copy our scenes via usb stick from an x32 and move them to the wing rack.
Or do we have to learn a whole new system and learn how to create mixes all over again.
That would be nightmarish. Ive personally spent soo much time doing this.
There is a third party scene converter that already exist for that purpose 😊
Silly question I know....who thought it was a good idea to put the power switch in the back? How are we supposed to power this thing when fully mounted on a rack? Are we supposed to crawl behind every single time?

Hello friend, I want to buy this console, I know that there are 24 input channels and 8 output channels, the question is, to take it to 32 input channels and 16 output channels, I must buy the dL8 or the dn4888, I cannot understand the difference between these two that I mention to you
Behringer S16 or S32 Stagebox is what you want.
Is there anything in the specification about wifi capabilities? It would be great if it had decent wifi
Ignore that, I've just seen it has nothing onboard.
@@daviddonnan5you really want it outboard anyway. Just sayin’.
@@sound4uaudiovideorecording927 It was always going to be outboard, I just wondered if they had sorted it.
Can I use the Wing Rack as a Stage Box for the X32?
Why not? Seems like you output the inputs to aes50 so the x32 can pick them up.
Do you treat the 4 headphone outs as any other output? - In other words, can I create 4 Stereo IEMs which are controllable via remote
Yes, it’s basically a Stereo output BUS .
The 4 TRS outputs are just more convenient to plug directly a stereo headphone.
But this is just the same output as the 8 XLR above, (it’s not 4 extra stereo outputs)
When the bus is configured as Stereo, you operate it via 1 fader only
I know this video is about the rack but I kind of feel like the folks who bought the original wing are being left out.
I have just flashed my (grey) wing with the 3.0 firmware and it’s obviously fine :)
This is juste the « old » page for the full wing where the 3.0 firmware does not show, if you go to the Full Black wing product page, the v3 firmware is there !
Behringer will update the site, as also for now, you can’t see yet the product page for the WING-WSG wave card …
@@sebastiencaapi1960 I already downloaded the firmware but was afraid to update it. Didn't want to brick the board lol lol...was waiting to see if someone tried it. Then that would give me some confidence lol
@@musicmankeyzI’ve done it today, and it work flawlessly !
It’s just the behringer product pages that have to be harmonized 😊
Hi, it's amol rane from INDIA, first of all I want to tell you that I have a four console, x32, m32, xr18 & ofcourse wing. my all console perfectly working with p16/ turbosound tfx 152 & behringer xtouch except wing, because the lack of ultranet connectivity, I can understand that but what about xtouch connectivity?
Sometimes we need more number of faders & it's possible with xtouch, then why can't connect with wing, when xtouch connect with wing or wing rack, it will help for all byers, just think about it! Thank you.
Impressive 😅
It's a shame that channels don't have independent inserts like the Allen and Heath mixers do. For example, when using Waves/external gear we will either need to send and return the entire channel or burn the 16 FX slots to insert that send and return.
Would the WSG card solve that problem?
Shame has a price, Allen and heath SQ is almost twice the price of the wing and you have to pay for the extra channel plugins (comp, eq , dynamics), only 8 effect slots, and if I remember corectly, dynamics eq, deeser, and multicomp also burn an fx rack because those addons cannot be used as DEEP processing.
The soundgrid card is also more expensive, same thing for the stage boxes, and there is no 32-16 as Behringer and Midas …
So honestly, I won’t bother burning 4 fx slots for specific channel, and /or sending an entire channel or Busses if I really need the 16 slots …
The wave superrack can replace all the wing channel processing easily.
So much money did I will save doing this way 😊
(I sold my SQ5 with all addons 6 years ago)
@@sebastiencaapi1960 forsure, shame is the wrong way to phrase that 😜
Midas Wing wishlist 💸
@@matthewcselby 😁 They have managed to implement bus send to bus, maybe the processing architecture of the wing allow this kind of upgrade also … wait and see !
@@sebastiencaapi1960 just saw this and more in 3.0 - very exciting!
ULTRANRET STILL AVAILABLE
I want it!!!! There are no unit on the market…. 😓
Will the WSG internal card be available for purchase?
Same question for the Dante
POV: you are the first one under the video😂🎉
4AU high. Don't you mean 4RU high? I believe it's Rack Unit not A? Unit.
NOT AVAILABLE FOR MONTHS !
......cuz it just came out, bro.
Curb your enthusiasm, available only in several months .... at least two.
Put Moter on it
Zu wenig Outputs ….
The interface is bad, very unintuitive.
Without word clock in or out it might as well be a Radioshack tape deck. Definitely not professional gear!
Maybe you can buy it as add on
Come on !
A radioshack tape deck ? 😂
I don’t know how you use your mixer, but on the wing you can set if you want to use the internal clock, or get it via the AES; same thing for any devices connected to, an amplifier, a stage box, a soundgrid network, you have to set it up correctly.
Anyway, on midas PRO series, you have the word clock in and out, but not at the same price point obviously 😊
You get what you pay for, and with this wing series, how can you complain ?

Plus pay for the module to be installed.
Can I use the wing rack as my stage box for my Midas m32r?
Why not? Send the inputs to AES50 out so your m32 can get them.
