Very cool pickups Sam. Have never seen anything on that Marlin label in my whole life ha! Ron Carter is definitely among my favorite jazz musicians. His album 'Where?' is probably the most collected and is fantastic. Kinda hard to find an OG though. Great video!
*Ron Carter* YAY! One of the coolest, seemingly sweetest & most wonderfully lispiest players out there. He still gigs around NYC, too, if any of y'all are close or visiting! Such opportunities to see a true legend perform are extraordinarily rare. ❤️♾️
absolutely agree except for the audio......always sounds like she's speaking into a soup can!! Has anyone else ever addressed this issue with TS!!?? (-:
Aloha Sam, U purchased some amazing record albums this past few weeks. Haven't heard that John Tropea album in a while, dat George Benson bad Benson is his most funkiest of his CTI catalog. I heard of the Ink Spots, but I grew up listening to my dads favorite band The Mills Brothers. lol Awesome VCLT. Looking forward to watching your next video. Mahalo Ed
I love the Ink Spots from their classic period in the forties when they had Bill Kenny as their lead vocalist, he had one of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard.. Sometime back in the nineties in my hometown Madison Wi, I was in a restaurant with a group of friends, and at nearby table was woman who, in spite of myself, I just couldn’t help looking at, staring actually, lol. One of my friends whispered to our group that it was Shirley Manson. I was aware of Garbage, of course, but not aware enough to know which building it was that they recorded at, which was only a few blocks away from where I was living.. Shirley Manson has in recent years, expressed her dissatisfaction with her time being in Madison, which in her view, is a small and boring place, which it is, compared to New York, London, San Francisco, Seattle etc.. - Enjoyed your video and hearing about, and seeing your latest pick ups..Take care.
Check out MFSB for the best 70s soul/R&B. They were the studio house band for Gamble , Huff and Thom Bell, backing all the great Philly soul acts, Spinners, O'Jays, Stylistics, Billy Paul, etc. That is, if you don't already know.
There is a very good recent Aussie band 'Tropical Fuck Storm'. Live also amazing. A mix of punk and psych/blues. Worth checking. .And the Aussie legendary rock/punk band The Saints mid-70s to 1980s is also very good.
Hi Sam 👋 ! - Love The Hat .. I have it in black. Wish 🤞 I could have had the looks or talent of Bryan Ferry ( or both 😆 ) Kiss & Tell my favorite track on that very 80's record. That's an excellent Stones compilation & not often seen these days. Happy Holidays 🎄 ✌️
My Uncle Roger Romeo, guitarist of Legs Diamond and many other bands took me to the Whiskey and the Rainbow on the Sunset Strip. He was more into the and WAS 70's and 80's rock while I was a younger anti-glam punk rocker. I literally ran into Vinnie Paul coming out of the bathroom. "Vinnie??" "Yeah man," "Thank you for the music..." Dime had just passed away and that's all I could say. I could see the pain in his eyes.
My uncle gave me his copy of " Made in the Shade" in 1977 , when I was 13 . He never liked " the Stones" for some reason . I always thought that was kind of weird of him .
The INK SPOTS had that very dark deep voiced singer and he’d repeat some of the lyrics. As if it was a guitar solo. They did that with every song, almost. Haven’t heard them in decades 🙂

Beautiful Al Kooper's "I Stand Alone" and Benson's "Bad Benson" copies 😍
Man, I've been trying to get some of the early Pantera albums for a while. I'd gladly buy that off of you.
I have the Lime Spiders last album on cassette. Haven't listened to it since the early 90's.
Pantera and Stones 🤘🏻🎅🏻🤘🏻

Re: Roxy Music - Phil Manzanera's solo stuff is worth checking out.
Cool shirt! Saw him on that tour, didn’t buy a shirt just the poster

That’s the STONES best album ! ❤
If you're into groove metal (Pantera's CFH and later - maybe a bit of their Power Metal album also), then check out Exhorder. Bad @$$ band.
I love you
