I'm 32yrs old and just getting back into Lego after not having a set since the 90s. Looking up all of my old sets, this one is near and dear to me. I've lost my sets a long time ago, now that I'm older, I'm on the search to picking up every single old set I have now that I have the disposable income. This one brings back so many great memories of my childhood, thank you for putting this video together, such a nostalgia trip.
Hey no worries Nolan glad I could help. Nostalgic sets are the best. I'd try bricklink, thats where I was able to pick this guy up. All the best on your future collection 😉
Whoa! This is the first review I found about this set! I'm 39 years old and my mother recently dropped off a huge bag at my house which contained my childhood Legos. This set was in it! Surprisingly I was only missing 2 pieces to complete it lol I ordered replacement parts from the Lego store. Cool themes back then. Thank you for this review, I loved it!
My dad got this for me as my very first lego set back then around 10-15 years ago. A very noltalgic one during my childhood which sparked my love for collecting them! Great review and your set is well taken care of!
This is my all-time favorite Lego set ❤ Love King Kahuka, such a GREAT minifigure. Love all these plants and animals. They make this set look so full of life. Buildings/structures are not so big and complicated for a flagship set but so much happens there! Last but not least - 2 amazing baseplates. Especially the rocky-one with waterfall painting ❤ This set is so colourfull and has this happy vibe I just feel good looking at it ☀️🏝
Really cool set! I like that mini pirate ship XD and the mini figures are awesome! Also I got the Architecture Statue of Liberty set today! And the Lamborghini!!
If this set proves anything it's that King Kahuka is a straight up Boss!! I loved that bridge collapsing feature. It reminded me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
I don't think the statue is supposed to hide the islander but is more like a prison, but as it is with LEGO there is no limit to imagination. At least back in the day there wasn't a limit. When you mentioned the yellow stud at the fireplace: Ever considered that minifigs have yellow flesh? Just another imaginative possibility. ;-) I love sets about exotic cultures, they are always always great! Unfortunally but understandably they don't do these type of sets anymore. How do you think this set compares to the perilous pitfall? Do you think its better? Or worse? Will there be a old school comparison video? :-)
Hahaha didn't think of the yellow flesh being cooked 😉 And that makes sense about the prison, kinda like their version of a fridge lol. Yeah i really wish LEGO still made sets like these too And thats not a bad idea, i think this one may be slightly better, like .5 better or something but there close
@@TieTheLegoGuy Yeah, it's really sad but hopefully we can leave this weird part of human history behind us and start functioning as normal human beings again soon.
Hi tie, I got a question. I turned 18 a couple of months ago and I want to start a Lego UA-cam channel but I don't have too many sets to review and I want to get into the Lego ambassador. Any tips or anything like that?

Dude... AWESOME choices!! Big spender haha
And thanks Rubbernose, personally love this one 👌
One of my favourite childhood sets, had so much fun with it. Just sold it in my dark times, where my love for lego was a bit on the low. Stupid me...
Great set, and it happens. Did that with a bunch of Bionicles myself. Regretting it now
My favorite set when I was a kid. 👍🏻
10 out of 10 model 🔥
I really like that totem pole and the tree bridge!
Same, great builds/play features 🔥
Yeah I like the totem pole too... it’s not very historically accurate though...
Haha its true, i think LEGO was just trying to throw in some stone ruins honestly
Same face from Pirates of Barracuda Bay!!
If this set proves anything it's that King Kahuka is a straight up Boss!! I loved that bridge collapsing feature. It reminded me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
He most certainly is lol if you think otherwise, he'll eat ya. And thats true, never thought of that but it makes sense
great review
The statue prison is for the pirates brother!
Jeez this set is surprisingly good! It looks awesome Tie. Great review!
Thanks Daily, such a great set 👌
So Tie - are you and BFAB going to do a Tie and Tequila stream soon 😂

Why is it understandable that they don't do sets with exotic cultures anymore?
LEGO is too worried about people getting offended. I'm all for them making sets like this but I feel LEGO is very afraid of WOKE colture

I hope so too :)
Nice review! I have highlighted your video on Redbeard's Cove fanpage!

I still love this set. One of the first I got.
Dude same, one of the very best Pirate sets in my opinion
i wish i could afford...
Its pretty expensive nowadays honestly, but there are some deals out there if you keep your eyes open
Hey tie I really like this set but I do not like the small boat so do you recommend me buying it
I would, just sell the smaller boat on ebay or something, make some of the money back for the model lol
@@TieTheLegoGuy okay really good idea 👍

Hmm you could cover news related stuff, and cover different older themes/current with pics. That will give you alot of content right there 🔥
Yeah lego news is a great thing to do
For ties talks if u could time travel only once where would u go and why
Haha great question Commander, I screen shotted it to remember 🤙
