Amazing Person. His poetry was sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as well. He was born in Pakistani city Narowal in Shakargarh District. It was only district of Gurdaspur given to Pakistan at the time of Independence. We Pakistani and Indians have many things in common like Shiv Kumar Batalvi then why we always fight and argue? We should have to just and give each other their rights. PEACE LOVE TO ALL INDIANS :) .

I don't really agree with that statement but I do feel his pain. I think he needed someone who understood him... because I've been there before.

Anyone will fall in love with him. Age and gender make no difference. Yes , I am a woman, but Shiv ji is old enough to be my grandfather. The way I love him, I initially thought was romantic but I realise its much more... it's like 1 soul who deeply understands and feels for the other. I'm sure if we met, he would understand me too and what I went through with my social anxiety and stuff.

I am very happy to see this video, he is my favorite poet for last 50 years and i have read many of his poems ( again and again)in last 50 years and i don't have words to explain how i am feeling after listening his voice, his poetry in his own voice, although i can see and feel pain in his eyes ,anyway thanks a ton to the person who uploaded it

His every word is pain, people write he was drunk, but look at his eyes, the tears are there as always, I have started reading punjabi poetry after listening to his somgs, every time you hear every line, you are amazed at thedepths he manages to achieve, people like Shiv Kumar Batalvi, are custodians of a culture, even despite having so much bhangra, cheap poetry, people like us come back to listen to him, to thank him and to pay our tribute to a legend.
He is not normal in anyway. He is too sad and too Mysterious to be understood by any common man. Only keen observant people like me can understand

I have sung and loved Shiv's songs all my life, but to see him in a live interview in this form - well, healthy and poetic brought a lump in my throat. When, on some occasions, Shiv visited England in his later life, he stayed with some of my older friends, who told me that they enjoyed his company and had the privilege of hearing poetry that he only uttered once from his lips and poetry that never saw the pages of any publishers' book. Thank you posting this video.

I agree we need to be sensitive to his family. True Punjabi culture is to be sensitive to feelings of all.
Big lesson for me is to focus less on the gossip surrounding SKB's life & just enjoy his work & mindset (surt in Punjabi)
Let us ask what lesssons we can take from his work that give us enjoyment & improve our quality of life.
Listening to his interview, I pick out the inequalities in society & the rituals that create pain.
Let us see if we can do our little bit to change these.
