    When it comes to heavy tools, and most other tools, i really recommend indexing the handle, with the sides of the handle pointing forward, and backward, when holding it, this gives an intuitive reading on where the striking head of the tools is facing, and makes it much easier to control.
    Good work though!

    Awesome job! The oak looks great in it.
    Was laughing picturing you showing up at the post office with it wrapped in paper and getting odd looks "Yes, I'd like to post this to America please"
    For smithing check out Sam Fowler's channel - bet he'd be happy to do a collaboration.

    Almost sure you don’t get spalting in oak (which is a type of fungi, I think there’s too much tannin ). It looks like the stain you get when iron/steel has come in contact with the oak when it’s got wet or was green.

    • @RagnBoneBrown
      @RagnBoneBrown  6 років тому +2

      Could be! There were a few massive nails in the oak so it may have been staining from that

    Good video, you should consider getting a lathe. Lots about second hand and you can make use of offcuts and scrap to make tool handles and stuff. The head of the hammer would of been very easy to turn down
