I'm going through the series chronologically, so this year I need to play Yakuza 3. I'm in not rush to get this one, but I know it is going to be awesome when I get there.
I hope Like a Dragon: Ishin! sold well to get Kenzan! a green light for a remake, too. Let your friends know about Ishin! is a tight game, if they already haven't played it for themselves.
I think I've noticed this in other EZA reviews in the past but the game audio sounds like it has been heavily filtered in the capture. Sounds like there is zero low end, like a high pass filter was used. Great review as always of course, still need to actually complete a game in this series. Always give up pretty quickly.
Love the game and the review. I will say though, the healing items you can buy with virtue are ridiculously cheap compared to what you can buy with normal money.
Great review as always guys! But the game audio in this one is a bit whack and actually made me feel a bit nauseous, keep an eye on what you do with compression! I hope this issue is on your end and not a fault with the game, because I'm actually loving this a lot and am very much looking forward to getting Ishin soon :) otherwise great review!
Do you have a good time stamp as an example. I've compared a couple of the source clips to the final video and I'm not hearing the issue you're having. Kind of makes me wonder if it's somehow a playback bug on UA-cam. -Bloodworth
@@EasyAllies hey wow, I didn't really expect a reply from you guys! I checked with some other videos if it wasn't on my end. But they all sound perfect, it's this specific video. Although it pops up for me everywhere whenever the game takes over (the voice over sounds good!) it was especially noticable at 5:08 it's like the audio isn't as clear around the low-mids. It's also prominently noticable at 5:50. I'm beginning to suspect it's the actual game mix then though seen as you compared them. Or it's indeed a youtube issue. I've played my fair share of Yakuza / Like A Dragon games and know this is not a thing I've encountered before. But then again, it has to be said I'm very sensitive to this. Thanks for checking guys and replying! I'm hyped about the game eitherway and will be cheking it out!
I confirmed with Don that there's no compression or effects being applied to it. Been going back and forth on speakers and headphones, listened on youtube, the export, and source clips, and checked bitrates. It sounds totally fine to me, and there aren't any obvious mistakes, but perhaps like you said, I just don't have as sensitive of an ear. Or sometimes things just sound weird out of context. Sorry! I wish I could give you a better answer. -Bloodworth
@@EasyAllies No worries, I was just a little concerned and was unsure myself, so I made a comment. You guys went above and beyond to check it out though, I appreciate that! The dedication also proves once again why you guys are unmatched ever since the GT times. Thanks for giving it some ear and consideration. Keep on keeping on 😉
@@TacoTimePablo I noticed it too, especially when the swords came out at 2:28. The game audio in the video sounds muffled to me, even though the VO sounds fine. But to your original question, having played the game and heard the same problem here, I can confirm the actual game doesn't have any issues with muffled sound (at least not on my PS5 and TV).
I've played Judgment and Lost Judgment, but I haven't had the chance to dive into the actual Yakuza games. I played this and really enjoyed it. Really makes me want to play all the others
@@lukejonesme yeah as soon as I finished Ishin!, Wo Long came out, so I jumped right into that. Then I've got Chained Echoes that I want to check out. But then, I'm not sure what to do until Jedi: Survivor. So maybe that would be a good time to jump into Kiwami or 0
Currently playing this slowly as a big fan of the games in general. I think my only bug bear so far which is understandable but I wish they kinda kept their modern names, at least their first name. The family name could be different. After so many years and games remembering peoples names, they switch it up and I forget who's who XD
I've got mixed feelings on this entry so far. The story is great, but out of the 45ish substories I have done thus far, only a handful have been memorable. Most of them have been nothing more than, give this guy food, give that guy food, give that woman vegetables, feed that dog, help that cat, give that guy medicine, etc. They're very uninspiring and lack the creativity and fun I expect from a Yakuza game.
@@revbladez5773 Well then because at that point Yakuza was a dead game in the west and no-one played it. It wasn't until Yakuza 0 that the franchise became popular in the west.
That final score should definitely be flipped round lol It's the most dull game in the series and the now tedious, dull, repetitive, dated battle system translates even worse into samurai setting
Never played a Yakuza Game, maybe I should start with this game.
It is definitely worthy of a purchase, it's great
Start with Yakuza 0, you won't regret it :)
You can start with this game or Yakuza 0.
Please try Yakuza 0 or Yakuza Like a Dragon first.
You'll have a greater appreciation of this game.
And then Zero, awesome game
Glad you took your time with this Huber. Like you said, better late than never. Think i'll be picking this one up soon.

You totally should! Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 haven't aged very well... but Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1 & 2, Yakuza 6, and Like a Dragon are great fun.

Just need to finish Kiwamj 2, yakuza 6, yakuza 7, and lost judgment and I’ll be right there!
great review huber what a game i love it and i cant wait to play it soon after judgement and lost judgement
Remember going through the original with a translated guide, love the main story, but miss a lot of side quest, gonna get this ASAP.

They could not do that because they are historical figures.
Well the original game didn’t have their faces
@@revbladez5773 oh damn, I didn't know haha. Thought it was all fictional characters

Change the recording format to mp4 in ps5 settings, then you won't have crappy audio when you're converting from webm to mp4 like in this video.
Ah my favourite video game franchise of all time returns and as usual, i fell in love with this one too (i can't wait for Like A Dragon Gaiden)
Great review! Glad to get a thorough review rather than a stressed out one just to meet embargo!

Agreed! So many sub stories just lead into boring grinds.
Looks cool!
Bring on Kenzan!
What’s the reason for not releasing it at the same time for the rest of the world?
They felt that you need to know the history of the samurai to play this game, which the Japanese learn at school.
The reamke came out worldwide in feb? What are you on about?

Idk I was/still pretty annoyed you can just go buy new clothes or hair dos without purchasing with real wold money DLCs
Man as much as I love brawlers, I’ve never liked the Yakuza games outside of 7, the turn-based one.
thank god for this map, i was so sick of seeing kamarucho
Why the face similar to the protagonist in Yakuza 😅
It's like Tarantino film, recurring casts
What are you talking about? Sakamoto Ryoma is totally different. = P
Ishin is a fan service game

8.5? when Forspoken received an 8? Ishin is such a better quality game.
Damiani reviewed Forspoken. I have a feeling if Brad or Huber reviewed that game it would've been a 7 or 7.5 at best.
Atomic Heart review when? Or is that controversial/political/harmful?
This would have been exciting a month ago
MY FOVARITE GAME FRANCHISE GOING BACK IN TIME AND STILL LOOKS GREAT.
