450 Bushmaster Bullet Drop - Demonstrated and Explained - Розваги
I’m interested to see this one, just to see how close it and the 45/70 compare. Thanks for all the great pew pew videos, a good shooter, fine hunter, good friend, good entertainer, and a great dad. All good stuff in my book. God bless ya WTW FAMILY AND FANS. 👍🇺🇸
Hey Joel!
Me too, same reason
@@WHOTEEWHO do we get to see the 45/70 In This series. It’s a neat series that I’m really enjoying and learning from. Good shooting to the WTW HUNTING CREW. 👍🇺🇸🎥==🥇🥇🥇
Coming soon
@@WHOTEEWHO thank you bud, finely got me a judge other day. But mine don’t shoot the 454 ca. Still glad to get it the same. Thanks again for the great videos 👍🇺🇸🙏🏻
Maximum point blank range for that cartridge, on a 6" target, is exactly 200 yards. Zero 3" high at 100yds. Aim dead on out to 200 w/o worrying about any holdover.
Exactly how I have mine sighted. Makes 25 and 175 zero as well. My furthest kill is 180 yards so far and with the 250 ftx. Made two bounds and died.
Hornady calls for 4.1 high at 100 yrds with the 250 bullets and that's zero at 200yrds..really pleased with my 450 won't hunt with nothing else
@@josephvanover6846 that works out to a MPBR of 226 yards, but on an 8.5" target. For deer sized game, I use a 6" target for MPBR calculations.
@@jaylancaster5419 yes that's true, doesn't matter what caliber I'm hunting with I line all my rifles by what the box recommends..out of all calibers I have my 450 is my go to gun..👍👍
I have that same shootin' stick! Love it. The .450BM is a beast of a cartridge, too...consistently "bang-flop" results. Also, the 450BM is inherently very accurate in bolt actions and amazingly accurate in semi-auto platforms. Wide variety of loads available for it now, also...lots of choices.
The Ruger American is worth every penny. Mine is very accurate with the Federal Powershok 300 grainers. 👍🇺🇸
I love mine.
These ballistic demonstrations are very informative. Good stuff.
I underestimated the 450 until I put it up against the 458 and 50 beowulf. I was surprised by the 450's performance. Thanks for this video it was very helpful for me.
Great video, thanks for making it. I also have a similar set-up. I got the Ruger Scout in 450BM along with a SilencerCo Hybrid 46 suppressor. Running Hornady 450BM subsonics at 395gr. It's a fantastic setup for a big game silly quite rifle. I'm in GA, so straight walled cartridge's are not a factor, but I chose the 450 as a flatter, more appropriately sized round to the 45/70 and also quieter suppressed. I have several 45/70 lever actions with one suppressed but the 450BM is my go-to and is the one that I would highly recommend if looking to suppress a big game rifle. Anyone with one of these Rugers that have the treaded muzzle brake, should look into suppressing it (if legal in your state) with a 450bm rated suppressor such as the SilencerCo Hybrid 46. It is silly quiet. The fact that Hornady makes an off the shelf subsonic round for the 450BM was one of my biggest determining factors in getting the 450BM rig. They made if for reason as it is the bested suppressed big game cartridge in my opinion, and I'm glad we have their support.
Love the 450 BM. I built a 16" AR, and I also have one of the camo Ruger American rifles with the longer 22" barrel. When mentioning the straight wall cartridges, you forgot my favorite though.... the .444 Marlin. Love that round in my Lever Gun.
Pretty cool seeing those big old holes in the paper from the 450 Bushmaster!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
Please do a 30-30 win. Down here in Georgia we swear bout our 30-30s. Everyone says they are a good brush gun. But I've always wondered what it would do hunting a power line?
I love both of mine !! Have a Marlin and Winchester.
I agree. I love my Marlin
Love my bushmaster. Devastating cartridge for hunting under 200yds. Awesome video!
Excellent video! I've been looking at the Henry single shot In both 350 legend and 450 bushmaster. U
Your drop series has helped a lot. Ron Spomer had a good one today with the 25-06. Have a great night to the WTW family!
My best bro uses 350 legend. It's got way less recoil than the 450, less drop, but half the time there's no exit wound. Even without an exit he has never had it fail to be lethal, just not as good of a blood trail as the 450.
Love .450 Bushmaster! I own 3 platforms in the caliber. That's how much I like it. Taken several whitetail, 'no tracking neccessary'. Great for the woods of Mississippi. Ruger makes a pretty decent stick shifter.
Wouldn’t expect anything different from a 250grain bullet in a strait wall cartridge that small. Still a ton of power out to 300. But I’d say 200 it is a safe accurate enough round. Maybe if you load and make that magic recipe you can get more out of it. But still a thumper of a round
This is going to be another awesome video, Aussie Steve .
Love it. Ordered a 16" complete upper with the side charger from Bear Creek last night
Excellent to see how that round shoots in that Quality Ruger Rifle.
Don't hunt anymore but i love the 450 bushmaster. Ive been reloading 250 gr with 38 gr lil gun. Seams to work great.
I am a fan and it’s my deer rifle here in Southeast Michigan. FYI 45-70, although a straight walled cartridge, is not allowed in Southeast Michigan for deer. It exceeds the case length allowed.
Most 450 bushmasters will out shoot 90 percent of the 45-70 leveler guns to bad to talk about, I was so surprised...never seen a 45-70 lever gun cut bullet holes But I have seen 450's cut bullet holes 😮
Just sighted in my 450 today. I have the same American you have but with a red dot scope for closer interactions. Got it on point today with 10 rounds up to 100 yards. Hunting a heavy wooded area so the max ill shoot is around 25-75 yards. Great info on a cartridge I have little experience with. Thanks man
It didn’t drop as much as I expected at 200. Thanks for the video
Cool stuff. Good caliber up close and maybe medium range. Doesn't have the legs past 200 yards. :)
I think you have some of the best videos I've ever wanted all ways enjoy them and always learn something thanks for posting keep shooting brother
Best I've watched sorry spelling correct does what it wants sometimes
Really appreciate you watching Chucky
Awesome video. We have this conversation pretty regularly. Glad you did this video. We use the .450 as a 100 yard and in gun for thicket hunting.
Not much drop in 15 feet is my guess. 450 out of a 9" AR is my home/vehicle defense round. It seems like a round that can persuade someone that they should probably go somewhere else. *IF* they make it out.
Sighted in a CVA scout in 450 this evening with Hornady Black and it was a bit of a struggle. Going to check all my scope torques and try it again with some Barnes next trip to the range
Never thought about a 450 bushmaster in anything other then an AR platform lol. I feel silly nice rifle buddy love it.
Good one! Ready for this one! Thanks Who Tee!
Appreciate you watching Gary!
Big heavy round..... knew it was gonna drop like a stone
My 450 AR puts them bad boys sub MOA at 100. 450 is probably my all around favorite rifle
Whatever search I do about Bing bangs WTW has a video on it. Love it
Appreciate you watching! I try to cover it all!
I just came home from the gun store with a brand new rifle. While I was setting up the rifle decided to watch your newest video.... I had to laugh because I also bought a green Ruger American.
That s an interesting video on a round I just never think about much. You should try sighting in for Max Point blank range n see how that works.
Thanks Hootie.
We hunt with a little carbine in 45 Super that pushes a 250gr boolot to about 1700 fps. I was really excited to see this one!
Great video, are you planning to do a 45-70 with the Leverevolution 325 grain boolats?
Doing 4570 soon
Maximum point blank range is 205 yards on a 6" vital zone which works out to 1.16" high at 50 yards, 2.68" high at 100, zero at 175, 2.45" low at 200. Seems like a better way to zero to me but maybe Tee never shoots much past 100 yards where he hunts so a 100 yard zero is best for him. I really like all of Tee's videos.
Im a fan! I have a 458 socom im gunna take on its first hunt next week.
Good luck!
Going to do a big bore AR15 build, thanks for the information. Tough choices ahead.
Awesome! Thanks for the info. My rifle with my preferred ammo!
Lookin forward to seeing this one for sure !
Thanks for watching Jeremy!
Thank you for demonstrating 👍🏻👍🏻😎
🙏🙏🙏
Been waiting for this one, what's your opinion on the difference between HDY custom and HDY black. I've researched and some say nothing, some say ones better but they cost the same so I don't get it. I have some of each so I pulled the bullets and the powder looked the same, looks like H110, one weighed 3.8 grns more than the other. I just got mine re-sighted in with new rings a couple days ago. Was gonna Chrono both to see any difference. When I get these shot up I'll be reloading, I just bought to get the brass and it wasn't cheap, reloading is my hobby, and working up loads. Good video as always.
They're the same in a different box. The winchester is also the same just with a blue tip.
Thanks for another good vid! I have the same results with my Mossberg Patriot .450 shooting Hornady Customs 250 gr. at 50yd and 100 yds.... HOWEVER, shooting the Hornady Subsonics at 395 gr. they are shooting high at both 50yd and 100 yds (???). Would be curious to know if you or others have experience with those Subsonic rounds.
Exactly the video I was looking for, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I shoot the same gun. I use a Leupold VX-Freedom Scope. Very accurate. I shoot the same ammo. This year 5 shots 5 whitetail. Longest shot 187yards. Love my setup.
Hey who tee who this is gonna be a really fun video
Appreciate you watching
Well Michigan has thrown a wrinkle for us hunters that use straight wall cartridges in the lower half instead of shotguns. Your straight wall cartridges can not exceed a certain height, so for my cousin who just dropped $1400 on his Henery 45-70, we found out he can't use cause it's too tall, but my .450 bushmaster is ok.
😳😳😳
Yeah its stupid its not much at all. Limit I think is 1.8 case length and 45-70 is 2.0? Something like that.
i saw some guys on forums cut down their 45-70 cases to the limits but that is not a risk im going to take. I dont think DNR would go for it. Might win in court but such a hassle.
What's really stupid is the 30-30 should be allowed since it has the same or even less range than the 450
Awesome been wanting to see the 450 bullet drop. Can you do a 300 blackout next??
I have the 450 bushmaster and I love it
I find my VX-FREEDOM 3-9X40 .450 BUSHMASTER scope works pretty good.
Who Tee , Hawaii loves you and the video content 🌺🤙🏼
Id love to see this with the 338 winmag! Awesome videos man keep ut up
The hornady 395 grain subsonics hit like a mf truck, palmetto state interchangeable ar15 platform with a thermal scope and a squared muzzle break that reduces felt recoil by 60% , very accurate round, good for dispatching hogs
WHO_TEE_WHO, I have seen plenty of videos on wether.308 and 7.62 x 51 are the same and the conclusion usually is yes other than the .308 is a little hotter. But, I have never seen a penetration comparison between the two… and/or a direct chronograph done on comparable bullet. I think it would be a “Really fun video” since they both can be shot out of your Ruger American .308. Paper plates is one I’m thinking might show enough difference, who knows?
WTW could you try loads with more standard bullets, 300gr from Acme or a gas checked 250 gr lead alternative for those of us who would love to shoot for less than $2.00 a round. Thanks, love this series.
Thanks for watching
Love mine. I've got a Ruger No1 in 450.
Awesome
I have the same gun. Also using the same cartridge. Having never used a straight jacket I am so impressed after sighting in today. What's not to like about it,. I just moved to Ohio and didn't want to use a shotgun. I have no doubt this gun will do the job,
Just got myself a 450 BM last weekend can’t wait to shoot it
Love this series.
Thanks for watching Pat
you make my day with your videos
Appreciate you watching 🙏
Picked up a box of that ammo and it’s over $2.50 a round!
I’m excited to see this one!
That was a great video and it looks like I'm seeing a lot more 45-70 fans wanting the 45-70 keep up the good work
Thanks mate, Bushy is the most fun gun i own, when i shoot at 1000 i just aim at the moon haha
cheers
rob
My favorite caliber
Have you done a chronograph test with your Ruger 450 BM and the 250 FTX Hornady black ammo? If not, that is something I would be interested in!
I have not
I have a professionally built AR in 450 Bushmaster. 450 score 1 deer O. Dropped a 7 point in its tracks 66 yards. Hornady 250 FTX.
🦌🦌🦌
WTW...'do a A -10 gattling gun....lol....with 4.5 pound depleted uranium- tipped- fmj rounds...love to get the specs so I can build my own...(hahahahahahaaa....I crack myself up some times) this...was another fun video to watch and thanxs soooo much....steve
Very informative! Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for watching!
I just bought one of these because of your video actually i bought 3 guns because of your videos lol.this the 93f 22 mag and the same 243.On that note i think you got an extra inch of drop from what is labeled on the box because your running a 16 inch barrel.I would assume the ammo manufacturer tested it out of a 19-22 inch barrel could be wrong though
Pretty cool, appreciate these type of videos. 👍👍
That is one hard hitting caliber.
Absolutely
Hi I assume you'll remember me , I questioned "Why not a semiauto bolt action ". Found one Springfield 1903 lol something different.
My American ranch with cds scope is good out to 300 yards work very well for me and honestly I have never shot past 150 with any gun even my 270 that is along way for my skill level in a hunting situation don't a rest with me
Thank you
Good lesson 👏. 👍😎🙏
I have the same rifle with red black box CUSTOM Hornady ammo. At 100yds it will stack them together. I was very surprised at the group for a fat boy! I took a big ol Kentucky 10pt at 80 yds. He went 25 yds.
Finally the 450 Bushmaster is out
💪💪
Perfect for what i do. Llove mine
Howdy, excited for the new video.
Yup such a fan I have a pair of them and my oldest son wants 1 from Santa. Shooting 300g so not much walks outside of 150 and in
I sighted mine in at 50 yards, 75 yards is a stretch where I hunt. However, zero’d at 50 yards but it hits 2” high at 100 yards. Makes no sense to me, but that’s what I’ve always got with it.
I think it’s because scope to barrel distance, your actually shooting at a slight upward angle, and the bullet is still rising because at that angle and hasn’t started to fall yet, atleast that’s the way Iv always thought of it
I would love to see the same type of video for the 44 mag out of a rifle with a 22 inch barrel
Hi cobba, hope all is well over there....have you reloaded or know of what would be the most accurate of hand loads to 150 mtrs around between 200 to 250 grain....? About to start the reloading game as a box of hornady black retails $65 to $ 75 a box of 20....love my 450 ranch
Cheers for keeping it real...fun and great to watch...
I have not loaded 450bm
Good information
In my view in. texas with an AR
Are the holes normally this ragged? Almost looks like it isn't stable.
This gun was never designed to be a "long range" package. It is for use in the traditional shotgun only zones
Love this series please do 308. And 223!
Coming very soon
.50 cal muzzleloader to 200 plz
I was thinking the same thing. All Muzzleloader guys are waiting.
Hey I found one Omaha Outdoors has a Roger American in .300 win mag
Just saw it still available
I heard the A 10 rounds are great for deer....lol
Awesome video WTW, keep it coming
Thank you for the video it will be quite useful to me.
I just bought a CVA Cascade in 450BM for my states public ground deer seasons
I reload 100% of all my rifle ammo and 70-80% of my HG ammo
For the 450BM I bought Hornady .452" 200 FTX, and 245 grn I-Locks and already have Lil-Gun, AA#9 and RS Enforcer and a butt load of Starline brass as that was the only new 450BM brass I could find in stock.
That should give me many enjoyable trips to the range before deer seasons.
Have 12ga slug rifles but 12ga sabot ammo is up to $20-$25 for 5 rounds so I decided to invest in a 450BM and roll my own ammo for public ground deer hunting
That cva is awesome!!!
Oh yes! I've been waiting for this.
Me too!
Love my 450 . Deer under 250 yards. Whacked some Texas hogs with out to 150
After watch this again I am wondering if sighting it in at 50 yards was a mistake. I really underestimated this gun. It reaches out much further than I originally thought. You think I would still be ok at 100 or 150? Opening day here in Ohio is this Monday, not sure if i can make it to the range. At 50 I am in a 1" group.
I have the .450 bm I love my b.c.a are in .450 bm
I built an AR in 450 bushmaster just for deer hunting in Indiana. We can use most high powered rifles now which I totally disagree with. To populated and a friend would have died if he didn’t get up 30 seconds later. Had a bullet from some idiot not taking good shots and it went through his door and into his recliner where he was sitting just seconds before and it hit right where his heart would heave been! I believe shotguns and straight wall is all we need here! Anyway the gun I built is a tack driver and I choose it over my Rock River 458 SOCOM. Pretty much the same but ammo is half the $$!
Thanks for all your work like most people not enough time. Love all .45 cal really like 450 bushmaster all my hunting in heavy cover and hogs. Also love my Ruger American Ranch. My .45/70 feels like a step child.
Appreciate you watching. I love em all!
