- Fun times on Hells Revenge trail in Moab Utah. Colt (@coltbuildsit ) and I were going to head out and see if our Ford and Chevy could keep up with all the Jeeps of Easter Jeep Safari. It turns out there were tons of cool and oddball rigs on the trail that day.
Toyota Tacoma
Ford F-250
Bullnose Ford
Chevrolet Pickup
Chevy s-10
Rockcrawler
rock crawling
Land Rover
Jeep Wrangler
Manual Transmission
Wheeling
4X4 trail
Toyota LandCruiser
FJ80
Fun day on the rocks!! Next time you build a Chevy and I'll build the Ford🤪
I’m always ready to mix it up
I love those s10's specially 4wd I had a black and sliver 88 with the junk 2.8l motor I ended up blowing up the motor in it and got another one and then the transmission went out of the thing and I was in high school and got overwhelmed with it and sold it but man I miss it 😢
@@roberttompkins9466 I still have my 88 Blazer from high school. I miss driving it. I want to build another. Do an AWD S10 with a 3800 in it. Would be super fun. The hard part now is finding a clean truck to start with. They were all run into the ground and sold for dirt cheap.
come on guys, let's get dave over 100k subscribers!!! under 2000 more people needed!!!! HIT THAT SUBSCRIBE BUTTON, IT'S FREE!!!!
This guy!!👆👆listen to him!
Done!
Colt and Dave here, awesome. But I'm just appreciating that International 😍
Thanks! Yeah. Christain’s new rig is awesome
It's a killer build and he has a YT channel. Christian Hazel is the channel name.
Dave! I'm loving your videos ! I watched colts video last week . And you HAVE TO BUY THE PACER BACK! Moms spaghetti and the pacer are my FAVORITE builds!
It’s in the works….
You . Are . The . Man!
The Heminational was awesome
It’s super cool
Looks like a hoot!!
I want to go back
That is a bucket list destination for me that will probably never happen. Thank you Dave for sharing drivers seat view and allowing guys like me to live vicariously through you.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you get the chance to go. Even if just a normal car and hiking around Moab would keep your attention
@@thedirtheadshed Thanks again, love all your content
Every old Ford I've owned had the same special wiper delay😂. Always made me thankful for shoestrings and window wings
Haha. That’s me way to deal with it!
That International is so cool!!
I’m a little jealous
Great vid. Ive got to get out there at least once! Lets wheeeeeel!!
Make it happen!
This is so fun to watch. Way better than making it an extreme challenge. Fun and relaxing 😍
Yep! It was a great day on the trail!
Need to get my 1965 Nissan patrol put together for next year!!!
Yeah you do!
Dave, please get some rest. I know you want to keep pushing out this great content, but take a few days for your family, your mental health, and your physical health. I’d rather see a fresh Dave Chappelle two weeks from now than a worn DC on Tuesday. We’ll be here for whenever you pop back up.
I appreciate that.
great video as always. Im eager to try my 84 f-250 6.9 idi 4x4 t19 at moab.
That should be fun.
Fun fact(ish):
Alaska Gold Rush referred to the orange glow of the carrots being washed in the rivers every spring, some washed them in large flat pan shaped bowels. “There’s gold in them there hills” referred to the rolling hills of carrots that grew wild for thousands of years, probably feasted on by mammoths and steppe bison
I’ll make sure to pass this information on to my kids. Thank you
Your camera work was amazing! TV doesn’t always give you perception of how steep the obstacles are, but yours did! And you drove it at the same time! You’re the man!
Glad it is turning out! Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth watching or not
Oh, dang Ford versus Chevy
Needed some Suzukis out there!
I remember that issue of JP magazine! I think it’s still in my attic. Man I miss the magazine days. I had stacks of JP and petersons
They were all so good
What a great mix on the day. Impressed at how many IFS trucks were out
There were a few! I was stoked on that too
Colt is a wheelman for sure!
He can drive!
Mamas 🍝 > S10s… AWESOME RIDE ALONG DAVE👏👏👏 I’ve never been to Moab so to see it in that fashion was Pretty COOL 😎 My personal opinion is I’d take mud and such over Any of that terrain. But, it’s a very unique area! That S10… I’m not a fan of those personally. I remember when it was popular to put those cabs on K10 and K5s and build Hybrids! I remember White Knight from Canada 🇨🇦 had a BUILT K5 and he transformed it to a S10 Blazer. Looks like his does Really well though! I Really Love the Simple build of the 4.3/700R4👏👏👏 Something to be said for not DIVING into the LS 🌎 with everything… Your F-350 is a GREAT EXAMPLE of You don’t need a 12 valve, you don’t need 750 Horse off of a Dyno… You DO need Passion and Talent to set a ride like yours so apart from common Rides yet still be able to relate to some of that. I’d EASILY take the F-350 over the S10. Mamas 🍝 🥊
Thanks Cole! It is a good truck. Pretty unassuming in person
Another great video. I’m amazed that you drove it that far and wheeled as hard as you did. Also UA-cam keeps unsubscribing me from your channel.
Driving my wheeling rig was probably not the smartest move! But it worked out. I’m not sure why the unsubscribe thing happens. I’ve heard that from a few people.. I looked into it on my end and they don’t have answers
Who needs a Jeep for the EJS, when the pro's have Ford & Chevy trucks; on one of the favorites routes/climbs, HR. Thanks for the video, trust you made the long drive home, safely.
Yep! Made it home with only some minor hiccups.
I'm rocking a 95 bronco with a 351 and a t18 swap on 35s and long travel suspension. Love a manual.
Sounds like a fun one!
Ever notice: there's a 'Highway to Hell', but a 'Stairway to Heaven'?
Must be because there's way more traffic headed south!!
All this cuz Dave was climbin the escalator! Wonder where it goes!
That’s deep.. gonna take a minute to process. Thanks for watching dude!
Speed Star Racing. Those are some expensive wheels. Like.. Made in the 90s wheels lol I wouldn't buy a set to off road... They cost more than a set of brand new 35s!
Yeah. He said he hunted them down on eBay. Had ro pay up
Firmly believe that ford had a secret off-road monster made from 1980-96 in 2wd platform. The combination of twin traction beam front with a working limited slip combined with 4.9/300 I6 and a 4/5 speed along with a good set of tires could conquer Everest. The Chevy of the non squarebody platform just had too many clearance issues combined with some engine engineering that could make some issues noxious. So best cheap off-road fun truck that likely Costs less than a new dirt bike is that Ford magic combo in the shortest platform you can find.
Those trucks do work amazingly well
Deadly wheeling man! What’s the wheelbase on Mom’s Spaghetti?
It’s sitting at 116
Dave, don't you know it's called "Jeeping" for a reason?
I love what Colt and you are doing with trucks. It make it more interesting when you put a vehicle with a different footprint on the trails than a two or four door Wrangler.
It definitely makes it more fun in my opinion
One of the best shows on the Tube! 👍👍👍
Thanks so much! Tell your friends to watch too
You should invite the guys from Malaysia!!
That would be great! What a good group of guys
you gotta watch that Colt…he can get you into some sketchy trail predicaments
Yep. Rough group
Awesome day out! First time I saw this I think was with offroad rescue. Cool seeing yall handle it so well, even with some water here and there. Did you fix your pulley alignment?
Thanks. Nope. It’s still squeaky
Colt, Colt, Colt! Chevy is a step side! FORD is a flare side.
It’s ok
Hell’s Revenge was a blast. We did it in a new stock 2 door JL sport on highway 31’s.
Right on! Getting it done
Just to keep with the boxy look of things how about a rectangle tube across the top of the shock towers and just make it all flat across it....unless that would interfere with the way the bed mounts
It would add a little complexity, but the bed isn’t super useful as it is
Wait a minute, our ground is still frozen up here😂 how'd you get fresh carrots
Hmmm…. Maybe they have a big greenhouse??
The rav 4 you and Fred build is currently for sale in Colorado. forgot how cool that thing was
I saw that. It is super cool now with the recent tube work
Hey, has anyone seen Danglearm Dave?
There he is.
It’s the call of the ford
Trying to understand your transfer case with 2 sticks, is it 2 separate cases?
It has a range box (doubler). Thats stick on the passenger side of the transmission shifter. Then the main transfer case is twin stocked. Meaning I can shift front and rear outputs separately. (That’s the two sticks on the driver side of the transmission shifter)
I have a similar song I sing about heights when I’m heightsing, only it has more swear words in it
Hahaha
The international is a Jeep 😂😂 in sheep’s clothing isn’t it on a Jeep frame
That’s pretty accurate
Practice for when you break a drive shat..
Always good to keep up on your skills
I love moms spaghetti it looks awesome and just works.
Thanks! I’m totally pleased with it as well
lol, doing sketchy heights things…hold on I have a phone call.
Matt… always with the best timing
Where can we find out more about the Green Jeep Truck?
Go over to the @verncofab UA-cam page and ask for more videos on it
Carrots soup=nightwheeling
True.. gotta get that night vision
Did most of hell’s with a stock crown vic
Yeah. I saw that.
That was pretty hardcore for a truck that drove there
Probably not the smartest moves
Stickies are basically cheat codes
That’s the truth
I always wondered if people gave you crap for showing up to EJS in something other than a Jeep; it's good to know all vehicles are welcome. Like someone mentioned in the video, there are some Jeep events you'll get chastised for not showing up with a Jeep. lol
Yep. Run what you brung
@@thedirtheadshed that's how it should be. Wonderful!
I wish you were my neighbor!! My blaze and both patrols would be trail-ready for sure..
Only you can make that happen!
@@thedirtheadshed YES I know,,,, but it could not hurt to get some good ideas and some inspiration. I am working on them but time is elusive lately. I don't have a lot of time even to watch UA-cam, but when I get a chance your channel is the first one I check to see if there are any new videos. Getting inspiration and ideas via your channel. Thanks for all the info you share and I can not wait for the next video. Hope to see you out on the trails sometime. Cheers
That pacer would be cool in moab.
It would. It would do really well put there
Not selling the Jeep. LoL waiting until after pride, birthday, July fourth and probation to fix it. Just sitting at home until then. 😊
That was a great run by all the different makes. It was a great look/see/and dream trip. Thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it. I was stoked on the variety out there as well
Dave, your wipers are acting like the old vacuum style.
They totally are.. that’s a problem
@@thedirtheadshed They can be very aggravating
Not a fan of heights Dave? ;) At least you did it and there were no pants wetting incidents on camera. Funny that Shauno from 4wd247 also has a fear of heights.
"i like the sticker package on that one" 🤣
Hey, it looked cool
The Atlas gear box looks like a must have for serious climbing, very nice, the old International is a very cool classic looking body style a real eye catcher.
That IH tickles me in places.
It’s freakin cool
@thedirtheadshed hey dave, do you have a build video on the cherokee that we see in your intro? Is it back from the dirt every day series? Thanks!
I don’t have a video on it. I basically bought it cheap. Already lifted. Then built a cage in it.. lost interest and traded it for a Nissan pickup
@thedirtheadshed shoot, not that there isn't a million videos on cherokees out there already, I just like your style and spin on builds. Cheers!
at 16 min, is that snow on Hells Gate, or sun glare on wet rocks? continuing to watch, it was just glare
It was snowing and blowing around at first
@@thedirtheadshed April next year so hopefully no snow. Maybe the Texans will return, haha!
Dang.. another day with too many "rads" LOL enjoyed seeing Colt here
What are some good sticky tires that I can daily drive with? I have the ridge grapplers on my Cummins and I highly disliked the ko2’s in the rain. I’m thinking the mickey baja boss all terrains or those new kenda rt’s but not sure which one is more sticky
Milestar .
Any true “sticky” tire is gonna wear quick on the road. I believe the Milestars are the only ones that are still DOT approved
@@thedirtheadshed thank you.
that international is soo sick
It’s way cool
I've got an lb7 dually that would love a Dave lift special
That truck would be better suited for towing your rock crawler
@@thedirtheadshed or solid axle swapped with a wrecker bed on 40s 🫠
Love the long videos of wheeling, Great work Dave!
Thank you
Ohhhh, the BC Toyota 4WD crew is awesome.
Love seeing the Canadians out wheeling. I need to get up there
@thedirtheadshed we'll show you around.
Full-size Fun!
They are pretty fun
Great group of vehicles. My first EJS was in 2005. I rode with my buddy in his Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series. Everyone was awesome during our trail rides.
Nice. Time to make another trip !
VanderWeele carrots?
Not sure . I ate them and got rid of the bag
That looks like a lot fun
It was a great week in Moab
Dave, way cool! Hell's Revenge is a fun trail. Didn't make EJS this year, next year for sure! See Ya there!
It’s definitely a place to keep making it back to!
Living vicariously through the DHS! Awesome video and I agree ledges and heights are no bueno
Thanks for joining!
Hey Dave, awesome video!! Great mix-up of vehicles out there, each with a personality and trait!! Keep wheeling😎🤙🏻
It was such a fun group
Man I could sure use your help getting my ol 1999 f250 to clear this front driveshaft
That stuff can be tricky
Wiper arms are heavy.
Hahahhhaa
Third time's the charm. Fun week. I always enjoy EJS. You have to have the mind that there are a lot of neat folk there having a great time. My first ws 1995 and I have 7 Saturday flags.
It is more fun the more you slow down. And it gets better each year
This is another really good video. I love the diverse vehicles and the fun wheeling. Seeing an old square S-10 reminds me just how small trucks used to be and how big Rangers and Colorados are now. The small dimensions mean they look like monster trucks when you put some tire under them.
It’s wild how big they are. And no new small trucks for a base model
I really need to get myself out to Moab. Had a whole trip planned out but COVID closures blew that up. It’s crazy that you know over half the people that you randomly run into on the trail.
It was not like that the first few years. Got to go. And continue to make it a priority. It just gets better
Cut my teeth wheeling a '76 K10, Fully appreciate the lack of sight lines you were dealing with.
I got a good laugh at the wipers too.
Great video! Thanks!
It’s tough seeing out of these big trucks!
Awesome builds! Next time add an 80's Toyota to the mix for a sleeper build.
I do like an old Toyota
Great video Dave alot of awesome rigs and beautiful views wheeling with friends what more can you ask for 👍👍
It was a really good day on the trail!
Good show Dave!
Thank you
Cool day on the slickrock. Nice to have a day with no commitment. Love Moab videos. Hope to see that place someday
Make it a priority! It’s worth the trip/time/money
Verns truck gives me hope ill be able to do those trails with my truck one of these days.
You should be able to make it happen
Awesome video as always Dave,
Greetings from Australia
Cheers !! Glad you enjoyed it
So you have a doubler in your rig (203/205). Can you in your next video show how to use it, I have been locking for a good video, but there is none, and I'm doing that setup, thanks
I do have a doubler. But the one is an off road design Magnum to np205
Great video Dave, good to see some different rigs, and thats coming from a Jeep guy.
I love when it’s a mashup like this day was
looks like you guys had a good time out at Hells Revenge! thanks for bringing us along
Thanks for watching. It was a great day
Mom's Spaghetti is the best! Another awesome video Dave!
Thanks so much. It is a good rig
Love watching all the mag guys out together! Great video!
They are a great group!
I just love your low key humor brother.
Glad you’re digging the shows!
It’s cool to see you driving mom’s spaghetti all the way there and back! That says a lot about the quality of the build
It’s a great lil truck!
Awesome!
Good times
"You can have my six too" "I'm only 5'9" cracked me up haha
Glad you caught it
RAD!!!!!
Thanks for watching
Cool, now do it on a dirt bike.
Support
Much appreciated
Another great video Dave! Keep em coming & stay safe!
I plan on it! Thanks
