    Josh,
    I hit the jackpot!! I retire in December 2023 with almost 27 years teaching. I will be 62 and I honestly cannot wait for the 284 days, 19 hours and 52 minutes to pass, but who is counting? Any way, back to the jack pot! I have a friend that gave me enough hoops to build two 13x24 foot greenhouses and a lot more stuff. This was back in February and my feet have still not touched the ground. I have watched many of your videos. They have helped tremendously. One is almost complete and then I can start building the other. (YES! I CAN!!) Thank you so very much for all your help and even encouragement. I look forward to spending many years just growing food!

It shows by the quick growth of your channel. I like your growing methods and that you explain how you do things completely so I walk away feeling like I can apply it to my own garden.

    Good job. Bringing up the potential for the polyethylene and the PVC was unique and explaining the whole deal without having to endure the build footage was also a winner from my point of view.

    i'm so glad you produced this. i had toyed with the idea, but borrowed money against my car and bought 2 catapiller tunnels instead; one from farmers friend Gothic, and one from greenhouse megastore regular hoop. so far farmers friend is winning, it's already been delivered, and the driver was great. he unpacked the pallet and moved all the pieces to my wife's trailer. i'll check back once they're both installed. I'll declare a winner.

    We built our hoop house without a kit, using chain link fence top rail, a bender, hangers, and wiggle wire from Johnny’s. It turned out really well and has survived two years so far. We are in a very high wind area and at high altitude, so UV was a serious concern. I love your honesty about not having plans and winging it. Lots of good advice in your video!

    Thanks for sharing and explaining so well, I have a polytunnel 20 x 10, that is made of 32mm bars, but the plastic that was supplied was the green sock type you pull over the hoops and bury in the ground, but I never got a chance to put in a shovel of soil inside as a storm hit Ireland and lifted it out of the ground completely, your video helps me update the polytunnel by adding timber sides and hip rails and then ordering clear plastic sheeting to reskin the rails.Cheers and Thanks from Kildare Ireland.

      Hi jimmy..from Co.Galway. i think that you n we bought from the same company. Both of ours lifted, just frames standing. In 2010 built a black water pipe and disused trampoline legs, 🔩 together.. base framesetc except the lid. Dismantled now but going to reinstall. Thinking about how/ what to do regards the other bought frames. Regards and blessings to you this year😊

    This popped up at a perfect time on my feed, I should start thinking about building one of these now before the snow falls even if I can only grow spinach in it for a few weeks.
    I like how you built it and the only thing I think I will have problems with is the end walls. Because I only want one end open I think I can fold it all down to the ground at the one end but at the other I will need to build a door to access it.

    • @beekau5009
      @beekau5009 3 роки тому

      Hey Mio, i feel like i need to tell you this..
      The problem is, we search for happiness and identity in a world where the love is conditional, this will never fulfil us. The only One who can give you true eternal happiness is the One Who created you. For so long i had a void and tried so many things to fill it but i was looking to the wrong place and wrong people. It wasn't until I truly surrendered my life to Jesus(Yahusha) that my whole life changed (LITERALLY). Im not trying to tell you about religion, I'm speaking about the individual, He Himself, who wants to have a relationship with you and is knocking at the door of your heart waiting for you to let Him in. He died for us and His blood is what saves us from the flesh, our sinful nature and deceptive hearts that deny Him. He died for us and rose on the third day, He is the Saviour of humanity andHe became a curse for us that we may become the righteousness of God. This world is dying and the only source of life is our one and only Saviour. He is coming back soon and I want you to be ready when He comes. Just call out to Him, repent and turn away from the patterns of this world, i swear if you are sincere, your life will be begin. Tonight, i urge you, cry out to Him, pour out your heart and ask Him to change you, repent and confess your sins and ask that He forgives you, He is waiting for you to come to Him finally. Your life begins when you honestly decide to give it up to Him.
      For God so loved the world that He cave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world may be saved through Him. - John 3:16,17

    Living in Southern Louisiana, I made a pvc hot house with 3/4 inch conduit and sheet pvc. The frame made with the pvc conduit worked great...however the sheet pvc shredded in the wind once it got above 85 degrees f. I only had it on the top portion, the bottom I had clear corrugated panels. I was trying to protect for heavy rains. I now use clear 4 mil vinyl sheeting I bought at the burlap factory online. 54" x 25' rolls. It has been up for 2 years and all I have to do is clean the vinyl twice a year.

    First time I've seen your channel. Great job (with the video and with your farm)! I built a very similar high tunnel 2.5 years ago using the same materials and construction methods. It's working out pretty well so far. Like you, I was also on a budget and used PVC bows. If I was going to do it again, I'd spend the extra money on galvanized top rail and a bender. I know it's a different decision in the moment when there are 10 other things to spend money on! I'm in Michigan and we get a lot of snow. The PVC bows need to be reinforced with a beam running the length of the high tunnel and several vertical posts in order to support the snow load - which is a pain. We grow the same things in our tunnel - greens fall through spring and tomatoes and peppers in the summer. We have used the lower and lean method for tomatoes with good success. The only other thing we added to our tunnel was rabbit fencing.
