Lesson of the day: don't use All is Dust against an opponent full of colorless equipment, especially if one of those equipment is Lightning Greaves. It won't end well for you.
I can only say that All is Dust took care of a lot of my problems. And didn’t hurt me as much. The land that exiled graveyards on the other hand. Was bumming me out.
A sad day for Vilis and therefore demons everywhere. Didn't impact gameplay, but the regeneration on Reki would have him tapped after damage. Great game!
@@DarthAthar Muddstah said he "activated" it though, which meant he used its ability for mana. There was also only 4 mana tapped on screen, two forests and sol ring.
That All is Dust just gave the game to Jesper; nearly all his permanents were colorless, plus he had Lightning Greaves out, so he could just replay his commanders on his turn and completely undo the All is Dust.
This channel has a notorious threat assessment issue, but Jesper simply has much stronger decks than other people consistently. Here, the bridge deck was slow, Reki was mono-green and thus very limited in its ability to interact, Andrew mulled to 5, and there was a t1 Sol Ring to help kickstart things.
Finally, a Rograkh/Ardenn game on this channel! They're a ridiculously fun deck to play. The fact that not only can you stomp the rest of the quad with a Boros deck, but with a VOLTRON deck!

Doesn't Jesper not get another round of priority to equip the lightning greaves after arden gets blown up since it was at the end of his main phase? Isn't it at a point of transition, where sorcery speed isn't available?
Not really. Jesper passed prio in his main phase, wanting to enter combat. If he enters combat, Ardenn would trigger. Thus, in response, it was destroyed to prevent the trigger. This was done in the main phase, so Jesper has prio and can equip greaves. There is no such thing as "point of transition". You are either in main phase or in combat.
I must have created some confusing as to which one of them I wanted to gear up for attack and decided for Arden but then also just attacking with the magistrate since it was in the runner up for attack too
Was Jesper able to swing with Rograkh on that last turn there? It looked like the greaves were attached to the magistrate still. I might've missed something haha
Okay. Maybe I'm just not versed well in this. But once Jesper declared going to combat how was he able to go back and equip the beast token with the lightning greaves?
He passed priority to move to combat. Mads casted Beast Within when they received priority during the second main phase. Had they waited for beginning of combat, Ardenn would have triggered, even if he was removed in response to it.
didnt know jesper could have geared up his token after beast within. if i am going to combat and there is a spell, once that resolves, how can still be in my main phase 1? :O
Here's what happened: Jesper passed prority so he could move to the main phase to the combat phase, then his opponent cast Beast Within. After it resolved, priority went back to Jesper, so he could gear up. The game can't move between phases and steps until all players have passed priority without doing anything, so it was still Jesper's main phase.
@@alexobrien4240 yes, but then Ardenn's trigger would have gone on the stack, which is what he was trying to prevent by doing it at the end of Jesper's main phase
I feel like targeting the Lightning Greaves instead of Ardenn with Beast Within would've been the better play from Mads. It would've kept you around one additional turn to maybe find interaction. At the very least it would've given Adam and Mads one additional turn where you soaked up damage from Jesper. Regardless, it was a fun game to watch.
I think the Beast Within should have been casted in response to the Ardeen trigger, leaving no chance for an equipped swing to get through that turn. Also the one swing Mads sent at Andrew was kinda rude considering he was about to clear Jesper's board.
Hey Jesper, I've been thinking of making a higher power Boros deck, how are you liking Roger Ardenn? I'm thinking of making Jeska / Akiri for mine, feels like the commanders are more just powerhouses individually / together, and makes infinite mana an easy win condition.
This Roger Ardenn deck is my way of trying to build a more fair deck when it comes to game play. I stayed out of infinite mana and heavy stax. I like to build decks that play differently every time and don’t just aim at wining the same way every time.

I did not miss it. I just wanted to gain more board presence rather than put all on roger and Arden right away. The 3 mana ramp is crazy good in this deck and since I run only 30 lands I need to take the ramp I can get. Also. And this is why I've come to hate Arden as a commander. Getting taken out turn 3 by commander damage has only been surpassed by an extra turns deck that took 12 extra turns in terms of most frustrating things I've played against in Commander. Unban Golos, ban Arden
I think if you play lots of spot removal you can easier keep opponents at bay. I am never relying only on Arden to equip but generally play very cheap equipment and equip cost and other ways of auto equipping so taht if people kill my Arden repeatedly, as in this game, I can still function and keep attacking.
A great deal of the table talk was discussing what Adam could find with his next trigger and we were all really afraid since we never played against adams deck before. Mads had trouble blocking flying but think he was better suited to block my voltron dudes than a 8/8 flying
