People who work in this ship, are a different kind of breed. May God bless every single one of them.

This is the way you can deliver a compassion to entire beings, not by war or destructions, we all have temporary lives, all we have dying flesh, but the compassion and tolerance you shown them here was ever lasting.👋👍✌️👏👏👏👏❤️💓💕

I wonder if Cameroon will get health insurance for every citizen before the USA does. I think it's probably pretty likely, which is awesome for the Cameroonian people and just highlights the fundamental failures the US is becoming so well known for around the globe. 👏 Way to to go us, we are nailing it, just being ridiculous as fuck and then patting ourselves on the back and claiming to be the best country ever on the planet.

Wow bc he can see out of one eye he has to go away to a hospital that would shatter me. I understand there are rules and there are others in more dire need, but wow...

I love the training idea but how much of Citizens really get that training? Also how many fatalities what’s the ratio? How skilled are these volunteer doctors?? I realized now they want citizens to think they need “surgery” when the bush man up the road probably have the ailments they need and they don’t have to go through that I’m not against diagnosis or biopsy but treatment of surgery is not always needed especially if it’s not an emergency. Healthcare in America sucks it’s always about money so going to Africa to heal is that really the sole purpose??? People again I’m not against them training others I think that’s very valuable just don’t think that’s all their there for feel me? White doctors always had a very bad past don’t forget your history not all are bad just be VIGILANT and be two steps ahead and do what’s right for your people! Try to set up a program for African Americans to come I would love to volunteer I’m just a bit skeptical about mercy and this whole religious b.s. to join

I met a family of white evangelical South Africans who lived 5 or 6 years at a port city in China, waiting for one of these ships to be repaired. In the meantime, they were living in a huge expensive condo, their children went to the best international school of the area, had the best health insurance, and overall they had a pretty good upper middle class lifestyle. My guess is that they were not the only family in the same situation, and I can't imagine how much money it would have cost to repair such a ship. Who do you think was paying for all this? Mercy Ships of course. I ask myself, was it necessary for this charity to pay a whole family 5 or more years of an upper middle class lifestyle in China? If their real purpose is to help African families in need, they would use all that money to help locals get the skills and resources to build and use their own local hospitals. In my opinion, these ships are just an other white-saviour scam. I hate how they use images of people with physical deformities, make gullible people donate them money, and then pose as if they were angels. I'm disgusted tbh. i.stuff.co.nz/world/africa/111345047/better-way-to-support-people-than-white-saviour-culture-of-mercy-ships
