Really nice job on the “re-maiden”! Wow that engine and cowl flaps are really cool! That big 4-blade acts as an air brake when the power is low so it’s a bit of find the right setting on approach (my Bearcat was the same- too low a throttle setting and it nearly stops on final). Looking forward to seeing more of this one!
Yeah i knew that would be a thing...but was suprised by just how quickly it slowed hahha. Power off on the back side of a loop is like you tossed a parachute out the back hahahaha
I'm embarrassed to say how stoked I was when I saw the 1st 4cyl flight vid was up! Awesome test flight and landing! She's gonna sound awesome on full step. Reminds me of the ol Madera QSRA days....good times! I get its of "your crazy" with my ideas too. This just proves again that the best nose weight is an extra cylinder or 3...
Beautiful bird, and the engine sounds great. Be careful of those flaps. They can get you right up to the stall in a hurry. One thing I do with warbirds and flaps on landings is once the mains touch down, I raise the flaps. This helps to plant the landing. Yeah, it's not scale looking. But it can save your bird from bouncing back into ground effect.
Really flying and looking good ! You already have so much great detail with the engine, cowl flaps, cockpit / canopy, etc. Interesting that it does so well without much rudder required on take off. There is a lot of flap there huh ? ( Nice scale touch - as she would need it to plop down on a carrier. )
Great job Brendt, love the functional cowl flaps. Nice flight. Sorry i haven't been on UA-cam for a while had trouble with it needed a update but i didn't have memory on my phone. Too many picture and downliads. Now its fine by itself 2 weeks ago?? But i am back now.
You aught to be happy with the way things went after a year. It flies nice like you said it would just keep climbing with that motor and prop big loops. 👍
Great flight! I have the same motor on my CARF P47. I upgraded it with Bowmen rings, walbro carbs and added half additional petals to each side of the reeds. It runs like a beast and smooth. I found that the gurgling that your hearing is from back two cycliders as they run rich which is a good thing for breakin. You can lean them out as you go. I. Running a 34x12 two blade. The vertical is crazy. I have much more power and reliability then the guys running moki 250.
Thats great to hear! Yeah i leaned it out a bit after this flight. I need to put ngk plugs in it too. I heard about the stock carbs so i may switch those out yet
Yeah did 5 flights today and they were all decent. Had a ground loop on the last flight which was odd. Whats even crazier is how straight this thing goes down the runway with little to no rudder input
Nice flight with that beast motor. Plane is dying for more efficient prop. Please keep us updated with prop choices. I like Engel more than Biela for speed flight. I have same motor on couple warbirds at finishing stages...
Honestly im not really looking to go 150mph. Its a warbird not a jet. I like the scale speed to be honest. May just end up staying with this prop. Might try the 28x14(this js a 28x12) then i can come off the power a bit

Awesome bird! Smooth maiden too!
Gawd that motor growls! Very impressive cat.
We got more video with the motor tuned a bit better...check back in a few days!
Congratulations, Well done !
Very nice, excellent work!
Bearcat is my favorite warbird and this is awesome looking, prop is massive and looks good on it. Probably have to land it like the real deal.
RIght on, love me some bearcat!

Hell yeah man! Wait till the next vid...

Congrats on the successful maiden! Still blows my mind you have a 222 in there !
Whats crazy is how little rudder input is needed on takeoff. I guess that side thrust is working hahaha
The Bearcat is a great model but that short nose begs for a big motor to balance things out nicely, looks great in the air and super nice landing
Great job Brendt, love the functional cowl flaps. Nice flight.

NICE details with the Cowl Flaps.
That had to feel good. She flys sweet 😊
Sure did! Thanks!
Love the cowl flaps!
Neat lil touch!
Outstanding bro! Man I'm looking forward to seeing everything you do to it! Flew great!
Thanks man! The next video i wring it out a bit...check back in a couple days...
Well done bro! That 222 fits it well. Thought it was way too much initially, but it flies it perfectly.
Great job Brent. I really like the sound of the engine.

Nice flight Brent, the sounds good but your right, something is holding it back. Good stuff bro,
AirHammer out!!
Well that flew pretty nice. Did see a little torque roll to the left when it rotated. Might need a bit more prop. Very scale speed.
WOW!!! Talk about over powered!!!
Absolutely WONDERFUL brother! Great flight (like I expected anything less...), and BUTTER landing! Congrats!

@@hechtspeed Awesome!!
That's pretty stinking' cool! Good thin you have all that nose weight LOL
Well done, perfect landing, the best feeling 👍👍 try a bit more pitch in the prop 👍👍
Yeah once the motor is broken in ill probably go for a 28x14
Looks great and flew great, awesome!
Thanks!

Good JOB. SOUNDS LIKE SHE WANTS TO GO FASTER! Prop choice seems to be pretty close. But on video, it's really hard to tell. Nice girl there.
Yeah she was running fat on the first flight. Well get it dialed in :)
I donno if that's enough engine for that model... Lol, nice plane!
Holee kanoleeballs!!!!
What a great project and flight. Triple deuce a little fat, but better fat than skinny, right?
Yeah well get her leaned out and happy :)
Really throaty motor.
Wow is it that loud or is it the Mike?
Oh..its loud lololol
Oh its loud lolol
😲😎
What receiver are you using?
Spektrum 12ch power safe
Your canopy is separating at full-throttle. Be careful with that.
Yeahnit shakes a little. You shpuld have seen the original canopy lolol
