I’m really surprised you, and no one in the comments, had listed satanic Warmaster. The album ‘carelian satanist madness’ is my personal all time favorite black metal album, it is just the catchiest riffs you’ve ever heard one after another, highly recommend anyone reading this checks it out.

OMG...So happy you put Vadak by Thy Catafalque on your list! My favorite album of the year, no contest. Thank you for putting me on to this album in your best of June video. I haven't listened to any of their albums pre 2010's yet but Vadak is probably my favorite of the 2010's and newer material.

Cladan Brood are actually singing about the fantasy Book Series: Malazan Book Of The Fallen by Steven Erikson (Caladan Brood is a character in the series I think) I haven‘t read it yet, but its supposed to be rly good!

I had been into Caladan Brood for sometime but never bothered to look up what the name of the band or lyrics were referring to. Then picked up this book completely unaware of the connection. I think my jaw actually dropped when I came across the name Caladan Brood in the book. It really added to my enjoyment of both the book and the album for me.

My favorite black metal record is transilvanian hunger. Hasn’t really ever changed, but I go back and forth between that one and Panzerfaust
Potestas Magicum Diabolia by Asagraum would make my list probably. I am trying to get more into black metal, and they are one of the more recent bands I’ve checked out. Both albums are great!
I would have Drapsnatt, Svartidaudi, Infestus, Battle Dagorath, Darchon, Exiled From Light, None, Thy Light, Wolves in the Throne Room, Limbonic Art and Epheles on mine, so quite a bit different. Agree on Xasthur, Emperor, Bathory, Darkspace, Leviathan, Summoning, and Caladan Brood though.

I don't have time to think of/write a list, but 'Welcome My Last Chapter' by Vinterland is my favourite. The only thing the album lacks is Necrolord's iconic artwork.

Dude have you heard Acid Witch? If not you should check out some like Stoned To The Grave, and Worship the Worm/Witchhouse and Midnight Movies. It's not black metal. It's like stoner doom, death or something idk. You might like it.
Under the Sign of Hell by Gorgoroth is peak black metal for me.
