I need to mention this: The orange juice robot was featured in the PvZ comic books as a bonus comic, it was an invention of Crazy Dave's. A bunch of pirates found it on a little canoe, where they pick it up, before it suddenly whips out an electric razor and shaves the captain, at which point he is embarrassed by his lack of beard and the robot hops back in its boat.
The files for Zombopolis are named "Brain Street", so it's kinda safe to say the new Turf map would've been Main Street, along with zombie Garden Center (Aqua Center). I wish both Zombopolis and Brain Street got released together tho. We only got Wall-nut Hills.
It’s always interesting to have a look at cut content in games. Being able to see what could have been to only unfortunately never get it’s time. I’m personally intrigued by Imitator and the Goats the most.
The idea of imitater is pretty interesting, because imitator would force zombies to think like plants when facing him due to summoning hostile zombie opponents, meaning you would have to use zombie weapons against something zombie weapons werent designed to fight
4:42 Theory: You know how you can change out characters' abilities? Perhaps this was supposed to be a flying mech, as it does look a lot like a Z-Mech. You could use the imp, then swap out his normal mech for the flying one. The reason it was scrapped might be that... Well, if you use two abilities to fly up and down like a drone, and one for eject, you have no abilities for missiles or melee. So it would be a flying mech with no abilities. In addition, the mech might be able to get to wacky places. Finally, there are other mechs for the other variants, so would only the regular imp get this vastly different mech? Would other variants get the same mech, which would be too boring, or a mix of their regular mech and the flying one which would be too much work?
so i was scrolling through the string files, and i saw some interesting things 1. renegade imp has cosmetic strings "renegade face" and "lil renegade cap", which means he was probably meant to be a selectable character before being a boss 2. the crab robot has a name, and his name is "fiddles the crab" 3. the e3 z tech factory self destruct sequences text can still be found in the files
I found out in moon base z trailer of gw2 a lot of things, citron was going to have 2 different primaries, one being a rapid fire laser attack similar to that of sunflower and the other one is shown when he attacks the mech, which is a laser burst attack, citrons shield was going to be like bfn citrons shield, in both trailers of gw 2 and boon base z, his shield was able to sponge zpgs and missile madness, its broken if you think about it. Then rose, her time snare would of looked like a big version of gravity grenade, and corn, his running animation, where he moves his arms up and down instead of left and right
2:31 my favorite part about this ‘self destruct’ state is that the scrolling text adjacent to the portal changes from a promotion about Zomboss brand brains to “something very bad is happening…”
There is also concept art for multiple variants from scrapped to existing. It's such a shame we won't see theese pieces of cut content return EVER considering Popcap and EA are now more focused on the 2D tower defense part of PvZ after the flop of Bfn.
I think that as a curious fact it should be added that at some point they added Crazy Dave and zomboss as "playable" characters or possible bosses, however at some point the idea was discarded
Man it's so sad watching these vidoes, it's so clear the devs had great plans they wanted to implement but they never got enough time or funding to truly get it out
I have a theory that some of the cut bosses were intended to be at the end of each of the quest lines for imp citron deadbeard and super brainz specifically I think they would’ve been assigned as follows (this doesn’t cover all of them because some of them just don’t fit in for any of them which kinda makes this theory lose credibility but whatever ig) Beet boxers to imp because one of their quests was about shutting down music to help imps sleep Orange juice robot to deadbeard because one of his quests was about retrieving orange juice to cure his scurvy Super chilli bean to super brainz because he already has links to the regular bean in the form of his last quest thats in game Renegade imp to citron because his quests focused on hunting down different imps so he just fits in quite well
it would have been so sick to have gotten a zombified version of every gardens and graveyards map from GW. That main street looks so interesting, damn.
In the E3 Trailer that was revealed when the slot machine is shown there is an unused boss icon we can’t be clear because of the motion blur I’m unsure what it could have been but if anyone could go to the files and look at the boss icons and see what it truly is but I can say that it looks like separate objects or things it’s main colors are I think Bronze, sliver and a gold, it looks like statues so maybe it was finished at the time but was never showed to the public and was removed the next year in development
Very Spooky and epic that’s good video dude hmmmmmmmmm I remember this unused thing was Rise the flag what I found was Zen Sensei and Baron Von Bats where supposed to be in the last wave for rasie the flag they did appear it when the game was in beta but they Removed them in OPS it’s Unknown I have theory about how it might have happened Baron Von Bats is a tricky boss sometimes people say he is annoyance of using his Bat Warp and bat beam and he’s kinda strong Zen Sensei is more tricky actually challenging to defeat him in raise the flag he’s one abilities seems he runs after you and kicks you knock out even his jumping might be to difficult for the plant players to defeat him
My guess is that the flying vehicle that the imp was going to use was scrapped because of players escaping out of bounds and going to areas where players weren’t supposed to go to, and in the trailer the speed of the vehicle is very fast but I’m not sure if it was just for the trailer, and probably players could’ve gone on top of the space ship and could glitch out of the map, also probably they weren’t able to fix this because if they turned off collision then it could have fallen through the map or the imp would fall out of the car or space ship which could have caused a soft lock if you were alone
Sprint smash actually would be anability that gives ms to the player playing Torchwood and couldnt use anyother abilities because 1st he had to find some one to hit or cancel the ability which is weird because it has the sprint but i believe the one you are assuming to be the right one is the right one
I really wanted a Boss Hunt where the plants and zombies are both trapped in a completely different part of the Gnomiverse and must fight together where both their health bars are both red instead of green or purple and can even revive one another and their abilities can now be used for both side’s benefits as both plant and zombie survive killing waves after waves of gnomes until confronting a powerful infinity being possibly a different creature form the Gnomiverse or even King Gnomus himself and once the boss is defeated the plants and zombies must help each other escape to reach the portal and return home to the backyard battle ground 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Or the boss could even be M.O.M AKA THE MINISTRY OF MYSTERY 🔥🤯🤯😱🤯🤯🔥

I can imagine that the main objective would have been reconquering the street by destroying a vital structure of the zombies stationed there, what that could have been I'm not sure
And the mini game at the end could be the same as the original but more open on the inside and a few more places to place dynamite and during it, crazy Dave would comment on how zomboss should have made his own original plan and that copying the same plan is lazy (just for fun on the dialogue)
