Wow I absolutely love Henry's tank. Just amazing what he has achieved in just 5 months (many are still in the ugly stage at that point). With that inspiration, an LPS tank might just be the long term plan for my current mixed reef. Congratulations Henry and well done
Stunning tank, amazing corals, amazing fish, has a bit of everything in there, jam packed, beautiful, and another great video Sam, sensational. Loved that Deshi,,,,
This tank and sump is the same size as mine and it make me realise how far behind in coral and tech I'm, great video it made me realise how much more can I do with a small sump , thanks for the video and thank you for your help in the shop !
@@henryorcustus3412 hi Henry thanks for your reply and yes I don't think I need all the gadgets you have but one thing I like to try is filter roller I'm sick of cleaning my socks, what brand is the one you have and did you cut the socks chamber to put it in ? Nice tank you have. Thanks Henry.
@@antoniofaustino2548 Thanks Antonio. I use clarisea 5000. The sump needs to have the baffles removed. I broke mine in the process and ordered a custom sump.

@@ParkersReef I hope my nano tank look even slightly this good in a whole year 😂 I wonder if it do so well because he have so many corals he has slowly introduced lots of beneficial life from all the tanks the corals come from 🤔 I’d like to see BRS TV investigate this way of starting a tank too! It not exactly a cheap way to start a tank tho 😅🥰🐶
Great video Sam! Henry, thanks for sharing your tank with us! Check out the balance issue of your alk and calcium with an old BRSTV macna video that talks about the see-saw balance between them. If one is high the other will be low. If you lower calcium to the normal range you will help your alk come up.
Thanks Michael. I am aware of the see-saw reaction of Calcium Carbonate precipitation. However I've always had them in good balance before reaching PH 8.9 partly due to my elevated Magnesium level. I'm still testing a few things to see if I could narrow it down.
Crazy - I love the Kalk methods we are using - definitely the future of the hobby and I think in a couple of years 8.5pH will be standard. Now I just need to get a pH monitor :D
I absolutely love this tank, amazing work Henry. It’s an inspiration for many of us I’m sure. I’m hoping to one day achieve something like what you have. I’m about to start my first reef and will use this for a lot of info. Thanks also Sam, great work on another video. You touched on keeping in touch with other reefers as much as possible, I’m in Ballarat so not far from you guys, are there any local groups or pages anywhere I can join that you know of to learn from and ask more questions at all? Cheers

Glad you enjoyed the tank tour, be sure to check out the many others I have on my channel while here :) In relation to staying in touch with other reefers, Facebook is the platform for the time being. Lots of groups you can join on there to link with local and nation wide reefers :)
Yes brand new. I used Dr. Tim's method of fast cycling. But my Nitrite test kit was actually broken so I was dumping corals 1 week after filling the tank with water. In reality my Nitrite was through the roof. Corals don't seem to care about Nitrite though, very odd. I did lose a couple of corals but 95% survived.
Hi, Love Henry's reef, but a question for you regarding return flow. i have a 48x24x30 tank and a 48x12x18 sump so how much flow would put though the system with a return pump. my system i would like to keep more SPS corals with LPS and a few softies.
It's not quite as important as some will have you think, nor do you need as much flow as some people would suggest. Personally, on a system that size, I'd aim for about 4000lph. But anything from 2000lph to 8000lph would be fine
"if i can afford a proper refugium"??? what is this dude talking about.. he has like $10k of corals...and $10k of equipment .. come on man haha ! awesome tank nonetheless
5 months. Is not showing what he is able to keep. Just like when they set up tanks a shows. They all look good. It's easy to have a tank like that if you buy all coral at one time. All colony. Wow really

The gear are definitely not mandatory! I'm just lucky to be in a position to try out technologies without the burden of an established tank.

Yeah and Henry packs a lot into that cabinet!!
great vid sam and stunning tank love the lps in his tank and night bud lol

What a tank 👏
The more people that explore kalk slurry the better. Interesting to see if we will continue to chase pH vs alk in the future

Never a rush! Slow and steady is good too 👍🏻
Exactly mate. As you know I got to get rid this GHA first. Day 10 today since flux rx so have my fingers crossed.
Hopefully any day now

hahaha I think we all say that from time to time! Henry has somehow managed to fit about 4 times the gear anyone thought possible into his sump!
Thanks for the advices and inspiration Sam! Was a great catch up!

Amazing job.
Great result indeed!
Stunning tank, I may have missed it but where does Henry keep his nitrates & phosphates?
Yeah good question, I don’t think we covered that. Hopefully Henry will fill us in here :)
Ha I'm here. Nitrate is 35 Phos is 0.02, trying to lower Nitrate by dosing Phosphate as it kept getting stripped by Kalk.
The man himself!
Wow 🤩 Impressive for 5 months.
Yes, if you ask 5 different reefers a question you get 5 different answers . 😂
Agreed!!
Congratulations for the video, it would be very nice to know the parameters this tank is running. Thanks
I’ll see if Henry can fill us in, thanks for watching :)

One question, did the tank start with brand new bio media or established one? It shocked me as a 5 months old tank. The tank looks amazing for sure!
I think new media, but Henry will respond!
Hey Sam. Not sure if this was in previous comments. But in what order did he put his tangs? For future reference. Thanks heaps
I am not sure sorry, hopefully Henry will resopnd :)
Beautiful tank-what are the dimensions?
Hey Michael, it is a waterbox aquariums 4 foot tank :)
awesome tank....any chance you can get the link for alibaba algae scrubber?
Henry may share here, but otherwise I’m sure you can find it with a little searching :)

Bare in mind that is a return pump flow recommendation. In tank flow is a completely different game :)

Awesome tank Henry. Just after eveyones opinion on Coral Beauties being reef safe.
Dwarf angels are all a roll of the dice, but coral beauty are fairly safe
Hey, did you ever try the Noopsyche K7 Pro V3? Can you please tell me how they are and also how many I’ll need for a 5 foot tank?
I haven't no.
Who makes the glass beads filter media?
not sure who makes these specific ones, but siporax is popular
Does Henery have an instagram and/or youtube channel? Such an amazing tank
I don’t think he does, but hopefully we can convince him to do one!
@@ParkersReef Yes he definitely needs convincing
What are the glass beads that you have as filter media?
Just a glass/ceramic noodle
Where can I get this black box raised refugium? Thanks
Ali baba!
@@ParkersReef I hear him saying that but can't fint it. what's the name of it? Thx
Has the powder blue ever caused aggression in tank?
Not yet, fingers crossed as they can be angry sods!!
I'm lucky my bigger lipstick tang keeps a lid on him...for now. And lots of food and habitats helps with aggression!
You guys want to send any of this stuff to your neighbours in NZ 🤣
Haha afraid I can’t sorry mate :/
Which filter media is in the sump? Those glass beads?
Not glass beads, like a ceramic noodle
@@ParkersReef it seems he loves it and its working. Can i have the product name and brand.
I have a variety of media. Most recent is the sintered glass, which according to Ben from Exotic Aquaculture Australia, has the most surface area.
How did you mount rock on back wall?
He used magnetic islands
Hard to believe
it is pretty amazing hey?!
Where did he say he got the hanging rock from
It was from a local store I think, hopefully Henry can fill us in

I think he should seriously consider a net over the top even if custom made to prevent any fish jumping, which always happens!
Not bad advice actually!
Deep pockets 😜
perhaps before the start of the tank! :P
Should put time stamps on these types of videos so we can jump to certain sections right away.
Good suggestion, can do!
that tank is way too small for all those tangs, there going insane in there
Upgrade is on the way 👌🏻
What's wrong with the collar of your shirt?!?😅😅😅
With a tank this good, you gotta pop the collar!!
"if i can afford a proper refugium"??? what is this dude talking about.. he has like $10k of corals...and $10k of equipment .. come on man haha ! awesome tank nonetheless
Perhaps Henry meant afford in another sense other than financially, perhaps he meant space wise? But either way, we all run to a budget :)
Terrible life for so big fishes in a little Tank! Dont you see the are to big for the place?
Did you hear the part about the 10+ foot tank coming soon?
5 months. Is not showing what he is able to keep. Just like when they set up tanks a shows. They all look good. It's easy to have a tank like that if you buy all coral at one time. All colony. Wow really
Absolutely not suggesting that Henry has worked out the answer to life, but he is off to a heck of a start with this tank you must agree
Die Fisch Auswahl ist völlig für den arsch 👎👎
Was würdest du vorschlagen? Oder noch besser, was befindet sich in Ihrem Tank?
