Was lucky enough to work for Ernie at Reeflections, never had a better job since. His knowledge and laid back attitude was the reason I started keeping marines, when I had always thought it was to difficult. Keep it simple is the best advice he gave me. Ernie its all your fault my bank account is always empty 😂 Miss ya old man xx
Beautiful tank! I think his various advices and carefree/loose attitude might a bit deceiving for many. I do NOT mean this in a negative way. Many aged reefers can oversimplify things. This syle can certainly work for him and his very seasoned tank but not for others. What he’s really got that many many other do not is the most powerful tool of all, experience. Experience and the eye of a veteran are invaluable. an incredible amount of experience!! It’s almost the magic bullet we’re all after! Also, is this tank on natural sea water? Are most Australian tank on NSW? That must be convenient!!
Experience is worth its weight in gold :) Most Aussie tanks would be on NSW I would say, or at least close to 50/50. Most of our population lives near the beach and we have quality water all around us
Wow thanks for sharing this masterpiece Ernie and Sam! Ernie’s store inspired me to get into the hobby back when I was a teenager years ago. It’s incredible to see what he’s achieved in his home years later
What a stunning tank & collection of fish. Love that he’s old school and such success can be achieved without all the scary hi tech gear! Thank you Sam for this video and Ernie for his time & sharing his wisdom!
What a show stopper of a tank. Beautiful corals and fish. Ernie shows you can maintain a reef with limited technology. He’s definitely in tune with his system. Thanks for the tour Sam.
What a stunning tank. Ernie was the first reef shop owner I spoke to when I started 10 years ago and a lot of the advice he gave me back then still helps today. Highest respects.
that is soo beautiful im just amazed the colors and placement are heavenly... im from Detroit michigan in the United States and Iv never seen anything like this .... what an absolute treat!! great convo thumbs up !!
Aside from the fact youve got a true jewel of a reef tank, I've got to say as much on your sump setup. Ecerytime I see a tank half that size if that, the sump looks like something a little better than the Indian power grid. I never fully understood why aside from ad hoc planning, upgrades, etc. Yours is incredibly stream lined. It's clean, organized and pretty simple to follow in the event of whatever. When the time comes when I can indulge in that hobby again, what you've got is ideally what id want for a sump or something comparable. 👍
I love his simplistic approach and he has the vast knowledge and experience to fing it...I all so feel that getting a mega reef nerd to set up and maintain a very automated tank is allso a pricy version of at least keeping it simple and worry free for the owner and knowing the robot is testing parameters a few times per day and doing all the thinking doseing topping off while supervised by a pro can make your tank super enjoyable as well.🐟🐙🐠🐡🦈multiple ways to make life simple.
@@ParkersReef so nice! I really like how he doesn’t have all the crazy stuff (modern electronics and gadgets) also, very much a “just the basics” kind of setup! 🥰🐶👌
Absolutely amazing! The coral The fish wow! And how simple Ernie keep it it's outstanding . Thanks Sam and Ernie for the great video. See you next Saturday mate.
That’s one unbelievable reef tank. Not that we do the hobby for money but I bet that’s a 300000.00 dollar tank here in the US. Wow I’m floored. Awesome 👏🏻 thanks for showing it Parker.
The Yeti is a dream coral for me - abroholensis and the green one is a granulosa I would say Love to see the fishes swim together and love that forked tail wrasse and the anampses
Wow amazing simplicity for the size of that tank beautiful thriving fish and coral, great video if not the best I have watch so far,it makes newbies have hope that you don't need thousands to achieve a thriving reef tank 👍✌

I agree and he is also somewhat a very good videographer with his "story-telling" youTubes video. You be able to tell by watching his videos, it is almost cinematic.
@@tempurax I love his videos, sometimes I wish they had a voiceover tho for when I am doing other things, I could listen to the videos still, but I just try to watch them when I can give them my full attention 🤷♂️🥰🐶
The reason is mostly due to availability of quality bulbs. Getting good supply of 20k radium 400w single ended bulbs was becoming a real struggle. The heat, the power and the fixtures didn't bother me one bit- halides give an incredible light

Killer system dude. Hats off :)

Absolutely gorgeous tank I mean this is what we’re all striving to do so many great corals and so many nice fish 👍👍👍
Certainly sets the standard!
I’m glad he me mentioned giesemann verve, I use to run them beautiful colors and produce the same growth to sps like radion
they do have a loyal fanbase!

Wooooowwwww! Great job documenting this system. What a great guy too. I thought holy grails came from Indo? I’ve never seen one in Oz
we have some here too ;)
@@ParkersReef interesting.. like the Bounce mushrooms that just happen to look identical to the original from WWC?

Thank you! 👍
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
This was a treat! Wow! 👀 Absolute beuuuuuty!
Ripper of a tank!!
I think that small, green, smooth skin sps you liked is some type of branching turbinaria.
perhaps!

I think we all hope our system will be half as nice as Ernie's one day!!!
@@ParkersReef I’d settle for a 1/4 😂🤣😂
Hahaha bloody oath!
holy moly.....amazing, that's a dream. little too much big fish for my taste, but i guess those coral masses are hard to feed otherwise
It's epic, a tank I would give my left leg for :)
Stunning tank.
It’s incredible hey!
very nice greetings from portugal
Thank you very much, appreciate you taking the time to watch!
This ain't a reef tank, it is a coral reef!!
I know right, actually looks like the reef - not a tank 😍
This is absolutely Masterpiece. I'm Jealous i wish this is my aquarium
it's pretty spectacular hey?!
Beautiful tank are you running your kalkawasser 24/7 or just at night
24/7 :)
Did he say what dry foods he is feeding? Using auto-feeders, I’d like to know. Fish look great
yeah sure is, I agree - the fish look amazing so I must find out what foods he is using
Incredible. What I found amazing (beyond the beauty) was the complete lack of aggression in the fish.
and there is no shortage of them in there either!
Excellent Tank, bro. (y)
Thanks for watching!!
When are you going to upload the stream from your visit at Hurstville Aquarium?
It's probably still a couple weeks away, perhaps 3
Nice tank
It’s stunning!

Hi! Which program or preset do Ernie’s use? Por the Radion 🙏🏻
I'd need Ernie to confirm, but it looked like a fairly standard program
Stunning!
isn't it!
I’m very curious as to what his radion settings are? Par, spectrum, schedule etc 😁
What a cool tank 😎
Yeah good question!!
