Something I didn't like about 24/7 mode in 08 (and I'm probably the only one who even cares) is that you couldn't play as a wrestler on the ECW roster. They make a big deal about ECW being in the game, from have the cover say "Featuring ECW", to naming a match type after the brand, Vince even makes a big deal out of it in the 24/7 mode opening cutscene. I know ECW as a third brand in WWE historically was a B-show not a lot of people watched and it's top title was treated as a mid-card title alongside the IC and US titles, but i figured they would pitch ECW as the underdog brand in this game. The one that needed to prove itself. Starting 24/7 mode as a CAW on ECW to me seemed like a good rise to the top style story.Furthermore, I figured it wouldn't be too hard to make it work, as the only title you ever compete for in 08's 24/7 mode is your brand's top title. Never a mid-card or tag title. So I figured the majority of storylines in 24/7 mode would've still worked on ECW. The only ones I could see being a problem are ones that use ECW as an invading force, but that could easily be replaced by a story where RAW and SD invade ECW together since they see it as being beneath them and you have to defend the brand. Maybe give the player the choice to abandon ECW and switch to one of the other brands at some point or to stay loyal to ECW.
Originally ECW was going to have a major part in the 24/7 mode but most of the integral parts of ECW involve Chris Benoit who was going to be in the ECW brand by default and well you don’t need me to tell you what happened to those plans

Well, slight correction. In the PS2 and PSP versions of SVR2008, Sandman comes through the entrance stage like every other wrestler but in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, he makes his entrance through the crowd.

With the struggle submissions, you don't need to move the RS around fast. If you're locked in a submission hold you just have to hold RS in any direction whenever the combination lock shows on your side, and then your character will attempt to fight out of the submission. If you're doing the submission, you hold the RS in any direction to apply pressure, but you lose your grip over time so you might have to let go of RS for a little bit to recover your grip, during which the opponent can attempt to escape the hold.

SvR2008 had an awesome roster. Love this game. It sucks it was missing RVD...he was still in WWE in 07 when this game came out. With all the ECW wrestlers they have in this RVD really belonged. 🤷
Dusted off my 360 during lockdown and got so immersed in this and SVR07...cleaned house in Season & GM Mode and beat all the Legend Mode challenges and maxed out my CAWs.....used the shittiest wrestlers and played on Legend difficulty.

I can't help but agree. Such a big deal made about ECW being in this game just for it to be the pesky third brand that you have to eventually fight.

ECW is also the worst brand to use in GM mode because they only have one title. Could’ve at least given them the hardcore belt for the mode.

additionally, the stage entrance is the one that got ported into the games after 2008
