In this video you can see prices of a few things from different stores, where to buy groceries, how to drive, where to buy alcohol and ect.
I know some of you might think this is obvious things like how to drive or not buy water in Iceland but this is what I see tourist do every single day so why not make a video out of it aaand well there was a little bit of wind in the video as well...

When I visited Iceland several years ago, they had alcohol, junk food & pop in the hotel where I stayed. If only the had a microwave in my room then I could have bought healthier frozen food!

Iceland is just a beautiful country plain and simple as far as the weather it doesn't matter to me it just mother nature doing her thing. Most traffic laws are pretty much same as u.s slower traffic stay in the right lane.yield the right a way. Just some common courtesy turn signals and defense driving.😇

So here's whats in my mind, after astronomy ill make my phd in order to become a doctor In astrophysics, and then, maybe, I could try with my best efford to learn icelandic... Why would you do that? Ur probably asking urself. Well, my dream now is not only to visit iceland but to live there. My biggest fear is that I would never do that if im not helpfull to the country somehow, so ill try my best to work in the university of iceland or doing something relate to my work in astronomy and physics! This is so random I know, u're probably thinking im crazy but no. I swear to every god ill live there.

If you drank the tap water in the us you’d have some serious problems..for instance even with a shower filter the shower water made my scalp bleed in Florida ! Iceland rules

Going for 7 days in Iceland this November, everyone says food is expensive there, but for me living in The Netherlands, i find it about the same for what i see...eating out and alcohol is however a different story, eating out here is also very expensive.
It's still a bit cheaper than Iceland, I live in amsterdam right now and I find that I spend a lot less here than at home in Iceland

Hey! So it depends on the country you are in, if the inner or outer circle has to wait but in Iceland we have it by law that the inner circle has the right over outer circle :)

That's awesome! If you are only staying in reykjavik I recomment Perlan. Perlan has been building aurora room and they have a cave in there, it's like 0 degrees or - something in there and it's really cool if you do not actually go to a real cave!
If you want to go swimming then sundhöll is the most popular one downtown. We also have a penis museum, I made another video where I went there and a couple other places wich I will link as well.

Kphotography thank you, that museum looks fantastic! Do you know any good pub that's affordable? My mum has birthday while we're there so I wanna take her out for some drinks and I heard that alcohol is rather expensive. I'm mostly looking for thrift stores that offer more than clothing like books etc.. Also good places to eat like take away. It's just a short trip from Friday to Tuesday morning
@@Kaopuschel So if you are staying downtown they have places like Sæta svínið or Fjallkonan that are not as expensive but yes alchocol is always more expensive in pubs or restaurant then just from the store it self.
If you want to thrift clothes we have a store downtown called Spútnik and a store called ExtraLoppan in the mall Smáralindin.
We also have Góði hirðirinn but that store has mostly furniture rather then books.. We have a lot of take away places and home deliverys like Dominos is everywhere.. If you are staying downtown we have Subway, Mandí, Hlöllabátar and many other small places you can walk to and take away.. If you are not staying downtown and not driving then it's a little harder sometimes to walk to a close by place for take away..

Bonus hell yeah :D We live in north Iceland - Olafsfjordur, it is 60 km from Akureyri. During winter we always do biiiiig shopping in Bonus (for one month, but if the weather is very difficult we buy more food - sometimes roads are closed :P )
Yeah I have never wanted to drive anywhere other than reykjavik over winter time haha I can only imagine what the weather is like there!

At an unmanned gas station, there's usually fixed amounts to chose from on the screen. How do I know what amount I should click on?
you can always click on the highest number if you are not sure and then they put the amount you didn't use back on your credit or debit card, it's just to see if your card has enough money on it :)
I'm strongly considering coming to Iceland in April 2020, the only thing I'm worried about is that I don't drive, and it seems to see the nature outside of Reykjavik I would need a car :(
Hey Evan! it really depends on what you want to see and go. From the airport to downtown they always have a bus and to see for example the golden circle or northern light, there are many trips you can take so you don't need to be driving. If you are staying downtown you are fairly close to a shop and some things to explore by just walking around. We also have alot of out of town bussess that go to places like, Ísafjörður, Akureyri, Selfoss and more but you have to by a buss ticket and they are expensive.

thats amazing! right now they are literally closing down almost everything unfortunatly. There are only 20 people allowed to be in the same room together and a mask requirement at all times.
But for new years there are always fireworks at Hallgrímskirkjan and thats something they do at midnight, its really beautiful and downtown so I do recommend going there but just be safe.

Hello, would you happen to know which supermarkets offer gluten-free prepared meals? Nothing crazy, roasted chicken or lamb for example would be perfect.
Hey, I know that in almost every big supermarket for exaple Bónus you can find glutenfree section but usually something that doesn't really need to be in the fridge. If you go to Bónus you can see where they usually keep the milk, cheese and cold thing, they will have meal packs there, vegan, vegeterian, meat.. I am not 100% sure if it is gluten free but it is the only package ready meal I can think of right now that is ready to heat up in the store.
We also have a place called Gló that offers vegan or gluten free food www.glo.is ,really recomend them, not to expensive and super good food

The only place is vinbudin as it's illegal to sell alcohol in grocery stores or specialty stores. The other places you could find special beers would be in bars and restaurants but it's a lot cheaper at vinbudin for the same stuff

Hey, so in many gas stations like kvikk, 10-11 and such, have a sim card that you can top on in most gas station or online.
The most popular one is called Nova and they all usually are bought with the intension on choosing between 3 types of card, for internet, calls or both and how much you want to spend

to be honest, we had many souvenirs stores for example in the mall but they closed down. We have a few stores down town in rvk but I think they all have around the same price. I believe your best bet for cheaper price is book stores, sometimes they have some souvenirs. Hope this helped :)

I'd like to know if there are Van's for wheelchair accessible for rent? Or is there public transportation with wheelchair accessible??

There are also vans that you can rent yes specially for people using wheelchair and others, there info is here ;

Also there are taxis who are bigger and take wheelchair but they can be really expensive so I recommend checking the others before hand.
