Great reaction. This song was recorded at the end of October 2010 and made its stage debut in November 2010 - Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. The video was filmed and released about a year later (so add 1 to the ages for the video). They were very pleased with themselves for teaching the Babybones guys the choreo - there is a great commentary video with subtitles where the girls watched this (and they did the same for the other early videos) and reminisced about filming them.
Glad you came out of this cuteness hell alive (lol). To answer your part about their shyness: You have to remember Su is literally singing on stages since she's 8, or even earlier, so she had a minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in this video. And this is not counting her modeling experience, she won her first award at the age of 4. And the other two had modeling gigs and stuff like that since they were 7 or 8 years old, too. It's pretty common practice in Japan, especially for young girls. Start with modeling and/or singing and dancing school/workshops, then hope to get scouted by a bigger agency and maybe join an idol group. But Yui was always on the shy side. Even towards the end of her BABYMETAL tenure, she was always the one who said the least in interviews and had a look like "please don't ask me questions". It was the same in Sakura Gakuin, Yui was the reserved one who was "business" most of the time, while Moa was the more brazen and "confident" one (for lack of a better word) who wore her emotions on her sleeve sometimes. Su was something inbetween I'd say, taking initiative to challenge herself. She was always a little bit anti-social, goofy and clumsy and always the one who did the biggest transformation when she stepped on a stage.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ Pretty much everything that followed was because this video unexpectedly blew up online. Their original budget was so small that Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura. The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves. This song covers all of those traditional Heavy Metal themes, like waking up excited for a new day at school, and deciding on your lip gloss and cute hairstyle for the day. : ) The last two times this was performed were for Su's 20th birthday concerts in Hiroshima (Legend S - Baptism XX), in December 2017. Yui was supposed to perform at those shows, but had to cancel at the last minute. I heard it earlier that year at the Palladium Hollywood show.
Suzuka Nakamoto and Moa Kikushi have been Su-Metal and Moametal for nearly half their lives. What is fascinating we know nothing about their private lives, which makes me happy.
5:38 Moa's face changes a lot as she grows older. Now, she is a gorgeous lady. We (The One) love Babymetal so much. Great reaction Stan! Thanks. Keep it coming.
I think her facial features actually reverted a bit towards her younger self again after about age 18 or so. Her mouth-to-face ratio increased again after having a bit of a low.
The group Su was first in, Karen Girl's, played at Saitama Super Arena as part of concert of various acts doing anime songs. Saitama seats about 20,000. There is a story that Su took a nap while waiting to go on. At 10 she was already an old trooper. She'd do Saitama again, the Road of Resistance live MV was recorded there.
Nice reaction! Putting the "kawaii metal" in Kawaii Metal right here. So we are all in agreement at 10k subs it's an entire BABYMETAL concert reaction? よね? Sorted!

The video Doki Doki Morning Rehearsal for me is a lot more fun. It has backstage clips of them rehearsing and in the recording booth then ending with them performing on stage. Which is the earliest "live" performance I've have seen.
As Grington mentions, there is a great audio commentary video with subtitles of the girls watching this song and reminiscing about making it. Su mentions something about the part that freaked you (and others) out with Yui and Moa's faces and the screaming and such, as being scary but she also can't tell which is which. Yui and Moa also said they can't tell who is who in it. They don't perform this song live anymore. The last time they did was in 2017 when they were opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Yui is definitely considered the shy one of the three, often times she would only speak when spoken to in interviews. All three of them seem fairly reserved in some of the stuff we have seen of them off-stage, but they are performers and lock into putting on a great show when they are performing and come out of their shells. Some accounts say Su is the most shy, but being the "leader", she is kind of forced to be the one to talk the most. Moa definitely jumps in as needed and seems like the most open one of them. Even still, it's clear they all value their privacy as they haven't made any attempts to change how things go for them (they don't do meet & greets, hardly do interviews, etc.), and that's ok because they are entitled to their privacy.
I also saw this debut song 「Dokidoki Morning」after I got hooked on Babymetal. In a good way, "What's this?" I was confused when I was suddenly struck by something amazing, but I felt happy and Yui and Moa are so adorable and I laughed so much. The great thing about Babymetal is that they makes people happy while being so popular in the world. It is impossible to get out of this once-filled hole. Happy everyone.
I played this as the first track in my commute for _years_ . It was an essential part of my day. Better than caffeine by far. I only recently watched a more recent live performance. And the difference is staggering. It's still amazing, but in different ways. I don't have a punchline.
Great reaction, Stan! This is always a crowd favorite at concerts, since it was their first song. There a few rare videos of Babymetal doing some cover songs from one of their early concerts from 2012. One is a fun cover from the J-Pop group Karen Girl's named Over the Future - ua-cam.com/video/nqlyyq18vI4/v-deo.html , which was the group Su was in before joining Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal, and was also a group both Moa and Yui listened to before ever meeting Su I have to imagine it must have been pretty cool for them to do it live with Su at a Babymetal concert. There is also a cover of a song called White Love that Su does solo - ua-cam.com/video/VNXndUfNzlI/v-deo.html The final one is a cover of Tsubasa wo Kudasai - ua-cam.com/video/wF099a-qdkc/v-deo.html All those songs were performed at the Legend D concert on December 20th, 2012, Su's 15th birthday and all have something to do with Su in some way. Obviously the Karen Girl's song, but the other two songs were from 1997, the year of Su's birth.
Welcome back to Babymetal. :-) And the sound levels are fine. Double bass and little girl pop vocals, how it all started... It's adorably creepy I guess LOL It's not a regular song they perform, last performance was 2017. Their 9nd most performed song, it was their only song or one of a very few songs for a time of course. :-) (116 times of the 300, it's probably more, but those are on setlistfm). In an interview Su-metal said she struggles a bit with singing this song because her voice has changed over time. That's exactly what is so amazing about Babymetal, they perform with conviction. They make it their own, in many ways it always was their own. Some people talk about 'owning the stage', these girls do that. We are just visiting their home.
Oh, it's Babymetal Wednesday! What a nice surprise as I'd totally forgot. Great to see you back on the girls again - and with their, as you say, very kawaii but also slightly scary 1st video. But then opposites - that mix of light and dark, cute and scary, Pop and Metal, Su's death stare and Moa's seemingly never ending smiles - is at the core of all they do. Hope you're staying safe. PS There's an even cuter video where - 3 years on from making this - all 3 girls watch it and comment on what they were like then and the things they did in the video - ua-cam.com/video/Sv3u1h4B79E/v-deo.html
Look at it as getting up in the morning and wearing the right outfit...this was the band trying something a different to find what goes together and what does not...
Would be nice if you do "BABYMETAL - DA DA DANCE (Official)" next, it's the latest official song video they uploaded on their YT Channel. Would be a nice contrast after watching Doki Doki Morning. 🦊🤘
Great reaction, I think the last time the performed this song was in december 2017 at Legend S ( Su's 20th birthday). That concert was also the first time without Yui and the last time they performed a Black Babymetal song.
lol @7:21 that was basically my exact reaction when I saw the video. "Well this is a cute videoomg what the heck is that!? 😱 Just some nightmare fuel thrown in. I just blows me away seeing how tiny Moa was back then and how much she's changed.
I can't believe you still have not done Akatsuki, one of the 4 Su soloes and one of the two you have not watched yet (the other being Amore). For me it's my favorite Babymetal song. Even if it's best in the Wembley concert, the Budokan one is good enough (Legend 1997 is a special melodic version of the song played for that show, not the real song). Doki Doki hmm...I think even if the song was recorded at the ends of 2010, when the band was formed, the MV was probably recorded in 2011 or early 2012. So the girls must have been between 12 or 13 Yui and Moa, and 13 or 14 Su. Actually the first time it was performed was at Sakura Gakuin en 2010, when Babymetal had just been founded. This performance: ua-cam.com/video/C-r4bajuu9Y/v-deo.html This song has an echo song, Uki Uki Midnight. Their second song was written in 2011, iine!, it also deserves a watch for the MV. About still performing this on the concerts...hmm not now, but they have performed it being grown ups. Definitely it was played at Legend S (Dec 2017), and I'm not sure if they played it at Dark Night Carnival (Hlwn 2018).
Legend S was the last time, and I think it will stay that way without Yui. It was their first song together, so I don't know how they see it, but if I was in their shoes, the song would be something like a sacrilege I wouldn't touch anymore without the original members. But it would be super cool to hear it again with her matured voice today (the same with her solo songs, especially Akatsuki).
Do they still perform this? Not really, but they performed it for a long time. I think they've performed it as recently as 2017? They probably will again? Who knows? They have so many songs now it's hard to get any song on the setlist. I know they performed it at the Tokyo Dome. It's easier with the 2 night shows but they still have way too many great songs. Did they not want to perform it or did they want to perform it but couldn't squeeze it in? Only the Fox God knows. They used to do cover songs too they were super cute. I think the two night show at Budokan was the last time they did a cover song (Kimi to Anime ga Mitai). I'd love to see a new performance of their cover songs. Budokan was the only time a cover was performed with the Kami Band.
I look forward to your Babymetal reactions which add a lot to the Fox Hole ecosystem. Creepy-adorable another sort of combinatorial magic. All three are on the shy side, but become transformed (actual true testimonial supported lore) for performances when they are indwelt by the spirit of the Fox God. BTW, a set of three Funko Pops on your shelf would look perfect - just sayin.
Ahhhh! Lol, like with a Doki Doki Morning, I'm running late! Lol! I'll be heading to you latest BN reaction right after this, but wanted to at least leave a comment for YTs AlGoRiThM....so here it is! Kitsune up! \m/
No they don't play this anymore, like most of the songs from their first 2 albums. Their latest tour consists mainly of material from their third album, Metal Galaxy, which is fair enough as that's what they're touring to promote.
On the most recent headlining tour, they performed 8 songs from the new album, and 5 songs from the first two albums at most shows. Like most groups the new album is heavily featured, but there are several classics in the setlist as well.
@@rickwagner- They don't have much of a choice given their relatively short shows. I would assume that this is one of the songs they wouldn't play even if they were longer, though.
That's interesting to know you've worked with kids before, that adds a totally new perspective when watching you react to Babymetal's older videos! I've been enjoying all your reactions to them, and looking forward to your future content :) It's always nice to have someone react mostly towards the girls and their singing/dancing/charisma prowess rather than all the technical metal aspects (which is honestly overdone at this point).
First you need to realise you dont come out of the foxhole your stuck in it and you will end up worshipping Su as a goddess like the rest of us ! Not complaining though🤘 😁🤘. Moa changes a lot cute Moa in 2018 came back in 2019 and the fans where WTF happened to Moa ? She got hot thats what happened and from seeing her close up in London Absolutely stunning . All 3 growing up to be Absolutely beautiful. Did not get as close to Su but still stunning and i could seen her eyes sparking as if they had stars in them ❤ just wish we could see Yui again. You mentioned shyness Yui is a bit shy and arguably Su is shyer but on stage becomes Su the Goddess Moa i would say is a bit flirtatious and is in her element interacting with the fans her smiles are awesome. Here is a live version of Doki Doki Morning for you to check out for yourself ua-cam.com/video/6YmLiQmoYeY/v-deo.html
Hi! Can you react to "Bye" and "Baila" (ft. Momo Chahine) by JEJE LOPES (aka Jennifer Lopes Di Gaspare), just to analyse from your perspective in German Pop..
Felicitaciones por quererlas de esa forma. Cada uno de nosotros experimentamos nuestro amor por las bebés de manera personal. Debes ampliar la imagen de su majestad Suzuka y que ocupe un lugar más grande en tu muro.
Thanks... I really enjoy your reaction... I love BABYMETAL so much, i just can't sleep without listen to their songs 😆💖 And btw, just wanna ask, the picture on your "wall of bias", is the girl on the white is Park Jiyeon T-ARA? I'm sorry if i'm wrong, i just miss Park Jiyeon and T-ARA so much and maybe make me end up thinking it was her picture 😅
I think the lady you're referring to is IU 😊(the picture under 'BIAS'?) T-ARA are a group I've not checked out yet! I plan to get to them at some point 😊
@@britkpopreacts aaah... I thought IU picture only the one beside that 😆 Wow You should listen to T-ARA songs, it so unique and catchy. They're legend but so underrated because of a "fake" bullying scandal made by haters 8 years ago, which really ruining their career. 2012 is the worst year for them, they got the "black ocean", people tried to kicked them off from stage, no one dare to play their music & another idol just tried to avoid them on stage since people who hate T-ARA at that time will also mad and bullying those who get close to T-ARA, even in a music show, staff didn't give them chair to sit and just standing on stairs 😣 people also ask them to disband and suicide as an apology for mistakes that they didn't even do at all. In 2017, they decided to hiatus and at that time the truth start to be revealed and people start to feel the regret and slowly begin to play their songs again, some member of a girlband & boyband bravely said that they like T-ARA and many people said they miss them. Their story is so inspiring for me. Ooppss i talk to much 😅 Well, if you want to listen to T-ARA songs, here some suggestion: 1. Lies (debute song) 2. Bo peep bo peep 3. Yayaya 4. Roly Poly and Roly Poly in Copacabana 5. Cry cry and Cry Cry short movie 6. Lovey dovey and lovey dovey zombie version 7. Day by day and Day by day short movie 8. Sexy love 9. Jeonwon diary 10. Number nine 11. Sugar Free I hope you'll enjoy their songs 😊😊
If you have grown up watching Japanese manga or anime, then you won't feel some of the images are creepy or horrific. By the way, Jpop girls started learning music and performing at a very young age around 10, they try to maintain natural cuteness throughout their idol life. This is very different from Kpop. In Kpop, 15 was likely the minimum age to debut and the girls almost all dressed in sexy outfits.
@Singulitarian not according to my workplace. I’ve been told it’s only an issue if I have a persistent cough/fever so I’ve just been going along with that. I’ve been following the usual procedures though so all should be well 👍

The irony of you saying "What time is it" is that she's saying "Ima nan-ji?" - basically "What time is it?" in Japanese at that exact moment, lol.
LoL!
I'm going to pretend that was intentional 😁
Glad you came out of this cuteness hell alive (lol).
To answer your part about their shyness: You have to remember Su is literally singing on stages since she's 8, or even earlier, so she had a minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in this video. Another good one! I'll echo what a couple others have said so far. AKATSUKI please.
Look at it as getting up in the morning and wearing the right outfit...this was the band trying something a different to find what goes together and what does not...
Good reaction again man. You need watch this song live, 2013. Is absolutely ammzing! 🤟🏻 🦊 🖤
@7:20 Well, Moa and Yui are listed as "Scream and Dance"
Would be nice if you do "BABYMETAL - DA DA DANCE (Official)" next, it's the latest official song video they uploaded on their YT Channel. Would be a nice contrast after watching Doki Doki Morning. 🦊🤘
もうここまで来たら、SuMETAL のアクターズ広島時代のソロのセレクションとかまで遡ればコンプリート出来るのに❗
まあその前にさくら学院と可憐かな?
*glomp* Yay! You're back with the BM! I was afraid we'd have to wait longer.
Great reaction, I think the last time the performed this song was in december 2017 at Legend S ( Su's 20th birthday). That concert was also the first time without Yui and the last time they performed a Black Babymetal song.
That is not really accurate. Moa sang GJ solo many times on the 2018 tour.
Ok, I wasn't on the 2018 tour, I've only seen the pro shots of that year.
lol @7:21 that was basically my exact reaction when I saw the video. "Well this is a cute videoomg what the heck is that!? 😱 Just some nightmare fuel thrown in. I just blows me away seeing how tiny Moa was back then and how much she's changed.
I see Su Metal on your "wall of bias"
Another subscriber has arrived!
Edit: thanks for reacting to BM
Thank you for the sub! 😊
Great reaction!

Next Babymetal Akatsuki live budokan...
This performance: ua-cam.com/video/C-r4bajuu9Y/v-deo.html
This song has an echo song, Uki Uki Midnight.
No performance at the Dark Night Carnival show.
The Legend S concerts were the last time its been performed.
But could his heart handle Akatsuki

@@martinmetal7481 he should also do the unfinished version to
Do they still perform this?
Last two performances were at 'Legend S - Baptism XX', December 2nd and 3rd, 2017.
With just Su and Moa.
The cult begins!#
I look forward to your Babymetal reactions which add a lot to the Fox Hole ecosystem. Creepy-adorable another sort of combinatorial magic. All three are on the shy side, but become transformed (actual true testimonial supported lore) for performances when they are indwelt by the spirit of the Fox God. BTW, a set of three Funko Pops on your shelf would look perfect - just sayin.
I do like me some Funko Pops, I wasn't aware there were Babymetal ones though! 😲
@@MacTaipan For sure. If they ever bring this song back, it will be for a special occasion.
@@rickwagner- 10 year anniversary is coming up Japan still on lockdown?
@@markyg236 Things seem very up in the air right now, even though coronavirus cases have been moderating recently in Japan.
Supposedly they haven't played this song since Yui left.
That's interesting to know you've worked with kids before, that adds a totally new perspective when watching you react to Babymetal's older videos! I've been enjoying all your reactions to them, and looking forward to your future content :) It's always nice to have someone react mostly towards the girls and their singing/dancing/charisma prowess rather than all the technical metal aspects (which is honestly overdone at this point).
want to see something check out System of A Down cover of Babymetal's Megitsune
First you need to realise you dont come out of the foxhole your stuck in it and you will end up worshipping Su as a goddess like the rest of us !
Not complaining though🤘 😁🤘.
Moa changes a lot cute Moa in 2018 came back in 2019 and the fans where WTF happened to Moa ? She got hot thats what happened and from seeing her close up in London
Absolutely stunning .
Here is a live version of Doki Doki Morning for you to check out for yourself

Hi! Can you react to "Bye" and "Baila" (ft. Momo Chahine) by JEJE LOPES (aka Jennifer Lopes Di Gaspare), just to analyse from your perspective in German Pop..
Please react su-metal when she's 11 old. Singing "asu e no tobira"..
Felicitaciones por quererlas de esa forma. Cada uno de nosotros experimentamos nuestro amor por las bebés de manera personal. Debes ampliar la imagen de su majestad Suzuka y que ocupe un lugar más grande en tu muro.

Thanks... I really enjoy your reaction... I love BABYMETAL so much, i just can't sleep without listen to their songs 😆💖
And btw, just wanna ask, the picture on your "wall of bias", is the girl on the white is Park Jiyeon T-ARA?
I'm sorry if i'm wrong, i just miss Park Jiyeon and T-ARA so much and maybe make me end up thinking it was her picture 😅
I think the lady you're referring to is IU 😊(the picture under 'BIAS'?) T-ARA are a group I've not checked out yet! I plan to get to them at some point 😊
@@britkpopreacts aaah... I thought IU picture only the one beside that 😆
Wow
You should listen to T-ARA songs, it so unique and catchy.
Ooppss i talk to much 😅
Well, if you want to listen to T-ARA songs, here some suggestion:
1. Lies (debute song)
2. Bo peep bo peep
3. Yayaya
4. Roly Poly and Roly Poly in Copacabana
5. Cry cry and Cry Cry short movie
6. Lovey dovey and lovey dovey zombie version
7. Day by day and Day by day short movie
8. Sexy love
9. Jeonwon diary
10. Number nine
11. Sugar Free
I hope you'll enjoy their songs 😊😊

They are not shaping!!!
of course, they are natural face.
I'm a huge horror fan, so I'm used to horrific images, but that bit still creeped me out 😂
Did you get a COVID test?
I didn't have any COVID symptoms thankfully, just a standard cold 😊
