    What do you think about those nifty add ons? I forgot to mention that the daypack folds inside out to turn into a packing cube, and it also folds into itself to store away nice and compact. So cool!

    “…and there’s a huge tree about to drop on us” - added suspense to a backpack review appreciated!

    I'm liking this backpack. I do wish that it had an option to convert it into a rolling backpack as well but that probably would add more weight. The question would be if I could get away with using this as a backpack/personal and have a separate carry on. Dumb question but I don't have much experience with international flights

    • @ProjectUntethered

      Not a dumb question! I think it’d be tough to get away as a personal item as it pretty much maxes out the limits for a carry on. Perhaps if it was half empty and you could squish it into the box somehow, but I’d honestly use a smaller backpack as a personal item just to play it safe!

      Makes sense. I do like that you can add the day pack as an add on and use that for personal items. I'm a bigger person so I always try to have things to keep me entertained at the ready as not to not get in anyone else's way. If I pack light, I could see using this for my travels abroad

      @x-train the day pack that doubles as a packing cube is clever, but I actually use Aer Go Pack 2 as my personal item - it also can pack away inside the carryon quite well (behind the zipper flap) if you only want to carry one bag but have the option to have 2 once you arrive.

    Thanks for the us video, it’s been super helpful and I love that it’s cheaper

      You bet! We’re about to test out some more expensive ones, so we’ll see how the two price points compare 🤓

    They raised their prices immensely. $249 now

      Yeah looks like I got it while they were still new. I’ll have to do another newer bag review soon! (I still think it’s a good bag that can fit a surprising amount, but now that it’s more expensive, it has more competition with other bags in that price range ).

      This should work as a carryon, but not as a personal item

    Holy hell.... 3.7 lbs., You trade a lot of carry-on weight fit those features.

      I’ve never had anyone actually ask to weigh our carry on before, but it’s something to consider if that’s something you’re worried about!

      @@ProjectUntethered more prevalent in SE Asia and Europe budget airlines. Plus, I just just detest carrying a bunch of weight as I get older. Just give me a decent looking sack and I'll fill it with some clothes and a some toiletries. :)

    3.7 pounds! Who travels with such a heavy bag?

    • @ProjectUntethered
      @ProjectUntethered  3 роки тому

      I’m pretty sure my osprey bag is heavier than this one. Plus if you don’t have to check it, odds are weight won’t matter much!

    • @thomasdc2439
      @thomasdc2439 3 роки тому +1

      @@ProjectUntethered well, that's unfortunately not true for Europe or Asia. The weight of my carry on was checked in most cases. And online check-in seems to be often not available since the covid situation started.
      And besides of that … weight is always the main problem when packing. It is pretty easy to compress all your clothes and to save space by choosing wisely what you take with you. But it is not always easy to stay underneath 8kg (or even 7kg for Asia). Especially if you have a notebook with you.
      I'm constantly looking for a good backpack under 1kg. Or even much less.
      Unfortunately, I didn't find one yet.

      That’s interesting! I’ve yet to visit Europe so I can’t speak to that, but we’ve never had a carryon weighed in Asia. I wonder if it has something to do with not being able to do online checkin due to Covid like you mentioned. I hope you find what you’re looking for!

      @@thomasdc2439 I like them because of their lifetime guarantee. I’ve had a couple of my bags fixed and replaced for free (minus shipping) despite having roughed them up with several years of constant use. That said, if you discover the perfect bag, let me know!
