Im 20 and feeling old joining the Navy, because most of people I know are 18 and 19 joining. This video puts it into perspective and that 20 is still very young tbh. Plus having a year of college and 2-3 years of work experience already I feel more mature compared to when I was just 18. Although 18-20 we pretty much are still baby adults 😂. Good video!
Really needed this. i'm 39, been regretting all my life. Why i didn't join the navy... but 2 weeks ago i told my self: is now or never😅 and here we go hopefully i go to bootcamp next month
I didn't enjoy bootcamp at all but i made good friends, did lost 27 pounds, finish bootcamp and now i'm haft way at MA A school, is been way better around here, they been sending my division all over the world, some are going to Bahrain, Japan, italy, spain,Guam, cuba i got stateside Georgia

Joined at max age. 41. Didn’t want to regret it. Life happened. Family health issues. Best shape of my life. Had my kids. Crushed ACFT. Never going to regret joining later. Been a federal employee for nearly 15 years too. VA Army National Guard. To all the oldies…. GET SOME!!!
32 with an age waiver for a SWCC contract. Originally chose MA. Never too late to learn something and better yourself. Good luck to everyone. Great videos brother. Thank you.
Good luck, you'll definitely need it. A friend of mine dropped SWCC training for a medical reason, after an injury his ribcage was slowly separating and opening up as he exercised, so he became an MA. I hope your career works out, glad you enjoy the videos!
I met this guy irl and he is so nice!!!!! We traded patches and had a drink together. He told me all about what he does when he's at work and I think I'm going to have to cross rate over to MA because that sounds like the perfect job in the Navy!
I wanted to join in my early 20s but i ended up with a daughter and wanted to be there for her as a child, now she's older and I'm 35 I want to join the army
I joined at 29 and am currently in A school. I definitely relate to the fraternization thing. It’s frustrating to me that most of the people who are within 5 years of my age are off limits in terms of hanging out with, due to them being fleet returnees or staff. That being said, I ended up being much more social in the Navy than before due to the ease of meeting people versus post school civilian life. I joined the reserves so fortunately I don’t have to deal with housing outside of A school and while on a ship, if deployed, but I’d imagine I’d go crazy if I were forced to live in the barracks. The rules absolutely treat us like juveniles and the asinine inspections are hard to deal with after having lived on my own and with a spouse for so many years. That being said the Navy has already given me amazing opportunities. Plus if you’re looking for a career reset it’s a great option. But being lower enlisted means you get treated like an immature 18 year old, who deserves to be punished, no matter how true that is in actuality.
@@saulbeiza7303 just met with MEPS a few days ago and they're processing everything still. There were also like 5 other people there that were joining and were 41 so I wasn't the oldest one.
Thank you for this. It helped to calm my mind. Back when I was in high school, the military recruiters visited and I was drawn towards the Navy. I was thinking about joining after high school, but I was too scared to make that commitment at 17 years old, so I just decided to go to college instead. Over a decade later, I am now almost 29 years old and I am currently working as a civil engineer after getting my degree in civil engineering. I love my job and want to continue doing what I do now for the rest of my life, but I still had that lingering regret in the back of my mind about never joining the Navy. I am currently overweight and out of shape, but I have been making progress on my weight loss, diet, and health overall over the course of the past year. Once I get into better shape and a healthier weight, I am thinking of having a serious conversation with my local recruiter.
Thank you. I enjoyed your videos 🤗. I’m in my 30’s and going to join Navy. That’s one of my goals to work on my retirement. It’s very important to work on retirement from your 20’/30’s 👍🏾 it comes back to you IF you plan correctly.
The earlier we start on our retirements the better, but the last thing most 18 year olds or even 30 year olds think about is retirement. It feels like it's 500 years away or that you'll never get old. Probably the same how people never plan their will or funeral, people don't want to face the fact we get old or the fact that we'll die and what happens when we do. Best of luck, you're ahead of many people already.
You're convincing me to join as an MA. My life sucks and I need stability Only hurdle is that I am overweight from sitting around for so long and struggle with doing pushups and pullups due to that weight
Thank you so much for this, I’m an older guy 35yo. Not joining when I was 18 is my only regret in life. I’m finally getting the discipline to actually lose the weight that prevented me from joining in the first place. 😅 I haven’t talked to a recruiter yet still exploring which branch and job I would be most interested in.
I join at 35 was going to join the Navy, but got discourage with some things i heard on the internet. So I join the Coast Guard, it was difficult for me having to be treated like a child, I would also get intimidated by the company commanders. A lot of general knowledge needed to be learned and memorized in a short time, so I got an administrative discharge. I probably regret not joining navy, but who knows feel bad for not being able to manage it.
@@HaedenBeck Since I quit bootcamp and ended up getting an administrative discharge, do you think that will affect my employment opportunity or to apply to a federal job in the future?
