I think this might be my favourite video of yours I've seen so far this year. The editing, the song choice, and most importantly that sense of genuine authenticity and great exploration of ideas - this is some of your best work, Nikhil!
Just came back to watch this for maybe the 4th/5th time now. Can't stop myself from watching that intro on repeat. Something about the cinematics, the vibe, the aura that you're giving off is just crazy. And here I am, still tryna getting to grips with videography. But it's the journey that matters. Keep it up Cap, tryna be like you 🔥🔥
4 Samurai principles: No mind: don't think, just do Wu-Wei: Make your actions effortless Intuition: cultivate it and trust it. (5 ways to do this - 1) sleep to completion, 2) meditate as much as possible, 3) focus on 1 thing at a time, 4) spend time in nature/awe 5) do it if it feels weird) Live Impeccably: Aim for perfect presentation and unshakable determination.
This video is a Captain Sinbad classic. So many quotes and perspectives that can help me get back on track. I had been feeling lethargic, and not putting in full effort, and this video was the slap in the face I needed.
Thanks man, I really needed this. I felt like my focus was deviating and was losing my way since last week I started to focus on my relationships. My work was taking a hit. I had forgotten that I needed to treat every moment with respect and put everything I have into each step I take.
Very well done video! I grew up in Japan myself and have always admired its very unique culture/philosophy. I actually have this exact book collecting dust on my bookshelf and you’ve inspired me to pick it up again, so thank you very much :)
Wow mate! And until now I thought you were just a guy that did Goggins impersonations! What an incredible video this was... Thank you so much for your work! You have a new subscriber. 😊
You're telling me that I've been writing extensively about the warrior mindset and the whole "a true warrior needs no sword" mentality for so long and I've never heard of the "Swordless samurai" book until now? Sounds right up my alley.
Approaching things with a clear mind takes such a load off. When you stop chasing it allows opportunities to get close enough to actually seize. I'm going to work on practicing stillness.
I absolutely love, love this Movie!! Great that you did a video on it. This was a great video as well. For the past few months I have been (surprisingly) becoming more and more disciplined and fully engaging in things I don't want to do, regularly. I'm moving past what's easy, easily attained, very comfortable and just pleasurable to what's a lot harder challenging uncomfortable and unwanted by my ego personality. I want that to be my new norm and even of my new pleasurable desires as well. I'm glad people like you exist and have such a huge following by the way. More people like you are Needed.
ADDING A PINCH OF MY THOUGHTS 1. You will always feel like doing what you have to do at any given moment… If you happen to need it, use discipline just enough to get started 2. Once you started, Don’t Think, Just Do… your intuition and your state flow will take over… let your body and mind move through the intricacies of the action 3. Anything becomes enjoyable and fun when you focus on it. 4. Focus on one thing at a time 5. Aim for an 8/10 level. When you feel that you already did a good 80%, grinding could lead to diminishing returns. 6. Take some time a day to think. It will always be a good use of your time.
For a look at the shadow side of Japanese military culture, research the Rape of Nanking and the Baatan Death March. The brutality and depravity are astounding.
I've been following you for years now on and off, your material right now is the definitely the best it's ever been. In the past I even remember it being more polished, but it's real and authentic now which is super rare. Keep it up.
Nikhil, dont underestimate your talents, from the bottom of my heart I can see you on the hollywood big screens. You used to say in your old videos thats what you aspired to become. Well im still waiting! And I fking beleive in you
I struggle with this in my discipline towards myself, but I am able to be completely present with people everywhere I go. I speak slowly. I stop and actually look at them genuinely and softly ask them how are you today, and I'm willing to listen and just give them a moment to feel seen. This has greatly benefited me, and I also bring food or random acts of kindness. I'm in front of the people I see daily to show action, and in turn, I'm treated like Im a part of their family. I know all their names, and they always give back to me in not only getting deals but also a smile that says thank you. I appreciate you, and you made my tough day a little better. Today, I tried to pay for the next person in line, and in turn, the lady gave me my food for free and said I'll pay for the next person and to go help someone who needs it more. I could see how she went from. I hate this job to being completely in awe and inspired by my gesture, and I was dancing with headphones to not worry. Be happy as if no one was there, and of course, everyone noticed. I sensed how the room completely changed by how I just showed them that letting go of the fear of judgment and just dance if you feel it. I changed the entire room, and all of them will be more likely to take that and ripple it through their day, and perhaps it will be felt by people around the world
Love the videos! I will say though, please please PLEASE wear some sort of jacket or armored gear when you ride ALL the time. I used to always ride with a jacket on, but the one time I didn't wear a jacket, I got hit by someone not paying attention, and had severe and deep road rash that I had to get surgery on. 3 weeks in the hospital, more weeks laying in bed at home not able to do much, out of work, and bearing extreme pain for months, I will never not ride without a jacket again. Be safe SInbad.
I left a comment a few weeks ago about how your tone had changed and it felt like we weren't on the journey together anymore. I can tell you read it and considered it in the feedback and every video since has been a solid 10/10. **Question for you today, what's the difference between Playing The Loser's Game like in Poor Charlie's Almanac and Playing To Win like you mentioned today?
Losers game is important for avoiding speculation or unnecessary risk. Playing to win is setting an intention with the day. Making the resolution to make to THIS DAY great.
This is easily a 9.5/10 (hell, even 10/10 for the cinematics) content. Many of these ideas are familiar to me. However, you managed to convey it in a way that is not only original, but also makes [a lot of] sense. I don't know how to explain it, but it somehow just.. clicks? I bet this video is 8/10 or 8.5/10 effort-wise. 🔥 as usual.
I’m loving this video. That idea of doing something the best I can is so important. This is featured in the Jesse itzler book about living with monks if you’re looking for another fun read
I watched a classic samurai film and there was one scene that a line stuck to me: “The way of the true samurai, is the ability to live through death.” - “Lightening Swords of Death” Lone Wolf and Cub. That stuck to me because, it forces me to accept that my inevitable death and live the way
As a student pilot , the "don't think, do" of Top Gun is extremely controversial in reality for aviating. Everything is checklist and procedure oriented, the human factors element is actually taught to not be foolish and reject taking chances outside of the checklist and resource management.
Honor is self respect. Self respect is self approval. Self approval is the highest form of confidence. To approve of one self is the only thing we must reach for. Let regret be your guide line.
Always love your videos brother!! If I may ask you, could you please make a video about social anxiety & awkwardness? I'm sure many people would appreciate it - especially nowadays when the world is connected via internet more than ever :) Anyways, keep it up!!
Everyone can take one or two derivatives from this video but not everything. I really like the idea of stillness cause it can help people to recognize themselves. Cause everyone finds ideas differently. You don't approach challenges or let others challenge you without recognizing yourself first.
I think that if we were left to our devices(natural senses and instincts) rather than overpowered by electronic devices we would have fared so much better with everything (mental health, attraction, peace of mind). Nice of the current civilization lifestyle to destroy our true nature and potential.
Japanese culture is highly derived from the Indian culture. Samurais are same as Kashtriyas. And kashtriyas have higher code of conduct and even more old culture. Bodhi dhrama( a hindu scholar) invented Kung fu for Chinese.

The timing of this video is crazy. I've been reading vagabond these last few days and saw you posted. Common Sinbad W.
The editing is a delight!
Every one of your videos hits hard man, always feel like greatness is coming when I watch them. Keep up the killer work

This is undoubtedly the greatest UA-cam introduction I have ever seen!
this is the best captain sinbad video so far thank you

It was a decent read - but the source material is better
Your videos are just getting better and better
That's a good ass video bruv noted down every point on my dairy thanks for that

I don't know man, I know these videos are serious but seeing 3 men in their 30s playing with wooden sticks just made chuckle
Excellent Video!

A good point
Brah your filming has gotten really good. I have been following you since day one and for real you have improved alot
I've been using your videos as inspired leisure currently - very happy to see another video out to help keep me on the path I want to be on :)
This is exactly what every man needs. Is a mission a purpose a way of being. This reminds me of the Mandolorian. This is the way!
✨ excellent. One of my favorites
I first thought it was one of those funny Sinbad videos and boy was I sooooo wrong. This is deep and I love it.

You know how this being present is what your Indian acting coach said about “being with your breath”.
The intro is literally two grown men seeing a perfectly symmetrical sword like sticks and start playing.

The last samurai is such a great movie fr I recommend it to a everyone it has great self improvement values

Good philosophy, Difference is now, you're not getting your head chopped off. Samurais had to have discipline, because there were consequenses.
