      Thank you. Oh man, make the switch. It’s the bomb. I had so much fun hunting with a recurve this year. I used my recurve during rifle as well as black powder. Didn’t even load a gun. I took one during both seasons. Passed on a lot during bow season. But I don’t think I have had this much fun hunting since I was a kid. Thanks again for the kind words and I hope you have a blessed week.

    Great video. I haven't shot a bow sence i was a boy.
    I picked up a recurve a year or so ago at a garage sale for fairly cheap and hung it in a corner. I would love to shoot it but really know nothing about them. Any information I can get is greatly appreciated.
    Just subbed.
    Thanks for sharing and God bless.

      Oh man, thank you so much for the kind words and the Sub. Yes sir, they are so much fun to shoot. If you have time find us on FB and send us a message. I can help you get started using the one you have hanging in the garage. I will just need to ask you a few questions about the writing that should be on it. IE, brand, poundage, etc. from there we can start with some different arrow shafts to find one we can get your bow tuned up with. I have been teaching Angy how to shoot started this past fall. She is already shooting bulls eyes after the first day of shooting.
      Thanks again my friend and have a blessed weekend.

    a bow is like a guitar, if you like the sound and vibe from your arrow weight match to the bow, you'll enjoy feeling and hearing this tune. .as far as game are concerned, they can hear you flicking your bic @ 30 yards, in the right conditions. .so that besides slowing down your arrow, providing another visual clue, and making you think puff balls when you shoot, the things could've bought you another arrow

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  5 років тому

      There is, I have used rubber one with great success. This is one set made by Limb Saver, I actually use these as well.
      amzn.to/2Q8hGsS
      You can also use these that look more like the Beaver Pelt, but made from rubber as well.
      amzn.to/2Hr9Vf2
      One of the big advantages to these over the more traditional fur is they will not swell up with water if you are hunting or shooting in the rain.
      Thanks for watching, I hope this helps, have a blessed week my friend.

    Why would you use the string to take the bow down real archers do it with no tools

    • @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
      @HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors  3 роки тому

      Excellent question.
      I have Ben using a bow since I was a kid. So the simple answer is this, I am not aware of everyone’s skill set. If you string your bow improperly by hand with out a stringer, it can damage the limbs. So not knowing everyone’s skill set that will watch this video I am using a bow safe technique for anyone from old to new. The way this string works, less chance of twisting a limb and or causing damage to the limbs. However if it makes you feel better. I generally don’t use one.
      Thanks for the question and have a blessed week.
