I must confess that I've watched your video just for learning English vocabulary about Brompton's parts and listen to the perfect pronunciation of every word... I bought the first (or second) Brompton in Girona: orange and black in a super tiny shop which doesn't exist anymore. :)
It was so nice meeting you Hannah at your Sunningdale Showroom last Sunday with your cute daughter. Definitely coming back to pick up a Bear G this time.❤❤❤
I love the green/grey/orange colours. I find it slightly odd that Bear Grylls teamed up with Brompton. I love my Brompton, but if I was going off into the wilderness to explore, a Brompton isn’t the first bike I’d reach for. I can’t even ride on the cobbled streets in my city on it.
A Dutch Firm named: "Bromptonian" actually makes an "Off Road" Brompton-like bike and repair parts for "broken" Brompton frames! Also parts for strengthening your Bromptons mudguard from breaking during use (I have one of those on my mudguard in front, even though it adds to the weight of my 2019 "SuperlightM6LXBrompton" 😄) (Which is presently down to 9 kilo, and - still with mudguards! I'm a Dane!!!). And I still expect to be able to find even more weight-savings on my bike? Still not nearly as expensive as an about similar weight: T-line, with mudguards, and less gears 😁! I do admit though that the 4 Chain-gears gives less mechanical resistance, but a Brompton isn't a Racing Bike, but an instrument intended for easy transport, when not riding it as a "kind of a bike" 😁! Finn. Denmark
Unboxing with a Kukri - let that inner warrior of yours out and attack that tape with more authority. That's awesome! The masses want more! Handsome color combination on this edition.
So instead of a Brompton toolkit do you get a mini survival knife with a fire lighter to place in the tube and do you burn the box to keep warm and cook some soup on it under a bridge in London? ;o))))
I really love the colour combination green/orange. Also the whole package with the bags. But I have already a Brompton and I'm really happy with her (rolling on Conti tyres now)... Thanks for the video. See you soon... Martin
Thanks for watching and the kind comment We thought it was going to have a logo of a grizzly bear (California Republic style) cooking on a BBQ grill Maybe next time Brompton should go for a less confusing name (though when they told us there was a Barbour bike - we found our nearest mens hairdresser with red, white and blue pole - imagine our disappointment!)

I ordered this because I simply love it and the matching bags are amazing. But I have one question. Can you fit Be Seen Lights on this model? Thank you and loved the review.
This does feel like a bit of an odd (and as others have said, half baked in the accessories list) collaboration, but hey, it’s a Brompton. Thanks for showing it off so we can all see the what will be an uncommon model to find in the wild!
it's simply let another money grab by Brompton. it's a shame nobody challenges their expired patent and starts a brand with a similar folding mechanism but improves on the bike where Brompton seem to have no financial motivation to do so. Instead we get these pointless collabs.
@@gibbson130 This does feel like arguably the weakest collaboration by Brompton, as the brand has little or nothing to do with a faux survival docudrama or its star. At least previous collabs were British brands etc where you could tie anglophilia to the idea to drive sales. That said, they just accepted an infusion of capital for a minor stake, so hopefully that gives their R&D department something to work with to do some minor improvements to the bike. Part of the draw of the Brompton is a lack of major changes, so I don't think I'd want to see the existing models go away, but having a model with disc brakes for touring, proper derailleurs from real brands (or at least the nicer Rohloff hubs), would be interesting.
@@gibbson130there’s actually a lot of clones available. Some of really good quality. I would argue in my market at least, the brompton gets modified with so many Chinese upgrade parts, it’s hardly a brompton anymore.
As per other comments, this collab really makes no sense to me. Previous collab/special editions at least had either some connection to cycling (Chpt3), were another iconic British brand (Barbour), or celebrated something (9 Streets, NYC, London 2012, etc). Brompton's marketing team pops up out of nowhere and says Bear Grylls now likes bicycles and finds this urban folding bike especially useful when, erm, err, he's doing a, erm, err, docu-drama somewhere or something.... He's a survivalist (in the loosest sense of the word), and does a lot of work with The Scouts. Bicycles, much less folding bicycles, have never appeared in any staged bear chase or elephant dung moisture extraction sequences. Bizarre. Coulda/shoulda had a Paul Smith edition (which would have been immensely cool), a Savile Row or Square Mile edition, or even a Coronation edition.
It’s a Barbour with a different color way. There was nothing done to make it more off-road worthy. Some may say it’s reflection of bear himself in that aspect as more show
Thanks for the video. Its very explanatory. I have a question; You mentioned that there is no pump in the box. Does Other C line bikes have pump and tool kit? Thank you.
Thanks for watching As at September 2023, generally (though excluding this Bear Grylls 6-speed / explore special edition) the C line are split into two models: Explore - 6-speed: This comes with a pump from Lezyne - black - though the Barbour bike came with a silver version which is available as an after market option Urban - 2-speed: This doesn't come with a pump as standard - but one can be added at time of ordering or later (if you want the Brompton specific one) Brompton's don't generally come with tool kits (though it's pretty much our favourite accessory) though this can be purchased any time
I particularly enjoy your videos and would love to visit your shop, but alas I'm in the US and would have to buy my first Brompton here. I have enjoyed your many videos because it has allowed me to learn much about maintaining a Brompton, which is good for me since I already have 7 bikes, a bike shop in my garage, and it seems like half the tools that Park Tools make. I need another bike like I need another kilo around my waist. That said, I'm finding stock a bit low in the shops I have called, and the Bear Grylls is one that seems to be mostly in supply at most shops at the time I write this. I'm guessing it's not as appealing to Americans as it should be and hence survived the Christmas madness in most US Brompton dealers. Perhaps the more expensive pricing for this model was off-putting to many. But for some strange reason I am attracted to it and this will be the model I get, along with the waterproof bags. As something to note, your "deadpan" humorous delivery really tickles my funny bone and makes all of your videos both entertaining and informative. I especially enjoy the "outtakes". Keep up the good work and I wish you all success and happiness in this new year.
