Do you remember the Penn's landing trolley ? A nice little operation using vintage trolleys. The city of Philadelphia killed it.
Thank You me and my grandma went on a bus trip years ago. This church was a beautiful sight. I thought the body was weird as a kid. I remember the gift shop and the outside. She will enjoy seeing this again.
You're doing a great job! I loved the scoot thru PennyPack park! I grew up in "London town" near Byberry I remember. Positive People like you Making The City of Brotherly love Safe again.
Enjoy the scooter/walking trips around the city. 👍
I really enjoyed this tour. I love your Philly voice and I love all of the same things about Philly that you do. I was born in Philly and raised in SJ, but have been to Philly frequently enough. Thank you for these videos. I hope you are going to Mass every week. God bless you.
We have the best city captain in the entire country 🙌🏽
art bell. nice. would listen to him after phils games on 1210 or 1150 am. best overnight show ever.
G'Day Captain, It's always a hoot. To watch you go for a scoot.
Oi
thanks Captain, we'll be on a school trip to the Museum of the American Revolution this week & we'll be sure to swing by Elfred's Alley & other area historical locations you've pointed out.

I had a Philly Captain day…I went to John’s Roast Pork then walked down center city…(side note) John said he had a burst of business after your video went up

Omg I live on 11th and wash, had no idea they tore up the stage in penns landing. Big chunk of my childhood summers sitting on those stage amphitheater like steps watching all the free performances with my mom and enjoying all the cultural sessions.
All this time and I finally see what you look like. I miss Philly. I'll be back some day.
Getting it ready for 2026
Really cool to see up-close updates regarding the cap project that started last year. I don’t think it’s to conclude until 2026. Please be sure to provide further updates in months to come! :)
Hey Philly Captain, great video, history talk, tour & more around Center City, Penns Landing, N. Liberties in downtown Phila..OK, TOODLES
Love these videos. You get it!
If purchase a house on Elfeths Alley. You got to be a people person. People taking pictures outside of your house. Sitting on your steps. Otherwise don't get peace and quiet.
RIP Original Penn's Landing. We will miss you.
Thanks!
I used to have keys to the third street Wells Fargo and it's parking lot. If I was going down to South I used the lot keys and parked in there at night
I love the videos!!!
Awesome video Jon!

That house for sale on Pine Street is in forclosure

Raised Catholic w/ 12 years of Catholic school under my belt ❤
Art bell. he always told the truth.
Yes that is one hood of hell ornament!
The Painted Bride looks like people are taking souvenirs from the walls.
Its posted 1991 but it was started back in the 70s. Sad to go
People who work with the artist are taking off the mural. I wouldn't be surprised if people are taking parts of it.
Does Pennslanding still have the Liberty Bell Boat, Spirit Of Philadelphia, and the helicopter they were all on PennsLanding.
I don’t know about the liberty bell boat but the other remain
I say 2 million. My ancestors on my grandfather's side came over with William Penn on the ship Welcome in 1682.
Awesome history 👏
I met a descendant of a man who crossed the Delaware with Washington. He is in the painting that portrayed the crossing. But I forget his name.
It's listed for $999,900
Good morning
I knew a guy who owned a house on Elfreth's Alley. The historical society went at him for flying a British flag. Being an attorney, he challenged them and they admitted they were preserving a particular historical era and he pointed out that the colonies were under British rule at that time, so nobody should be flying the colonial American flag - they should ALL be flying the British flag. He was eventually allowed to fly the British flag unchallenged. All that said, I'm surprised the historical society is ok with that hybrid flag.
You still go to the Philly union games
I usually go to one game a season
Why is it called headhouse
Jon are you sure incorruptible was the they might be giants song title?

I was at this church for funeral
Not many people can say I was at a funeral with two bodies.
I was at a funeral for 2 family members back in August 2016. Very sad . They were husband and wife. They were friends of mine.
I like your accent. It is so original!
forclosure for 999,990$
Make a right on N 4th and you're at APR
221 PINE STREET $999,900
Actually, Aviles Street in St Augustine, Florida is the oldest street in America. St Augustine was founded 120 years before Philadelphia was and 60 years before the pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock. But St Augustine was founded by the Spanish, not the British, and that’s probably why you never learn about it in school. Our history classes are very British centric.
I didn't say the Alley was the oldest street. I said it's the oldest street that has been continuously lived on
@@ThePhillyCaptain technically, you’re right because Florida wasn’t part of the United States until 1821. It was controlled by the Spanish up until that point.
Coast to Coast late night in the desert with Art Bell 👽
