Maybe because people don't get nostalgic when they hear them? Perhaps they don't have any family history surrounding the bagpipes?
I mean, sure, I do myself, but I don't get all nostalgic. It sounds... Well, absolutely horrible. Alone, that is. There needs to be more instruments playing. Not just one bagpipe. Otherwise it sounds like shit.

people need to stop hatong on the bagpipes.
if they don't like it then they can shut up and go somewhere else.
granted, you can hear a bag pipe from miles away, but still.
and i have found that me and all my friends with Scottish heritage seem to have an ear for the pipes. the pipes seem to strike something in us that just screams "home".

The first tune is the 6-part hornpipe "The Clumsy Lover", composed by Neil Dickie. It's followed by 2 jigs - "Paddy's Leather Britches" which is traditional, and "The Seagull" by P.M. Donald McLeod.

I wonder if anyone of you could suggest me a book or video or whatever where I can read more about playing techniques, range, notation, etc… I am really into it and I would like to take a deeper look and maybe write a composition for pagpipes sooner or later, just for my own exercise. Thank you in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a good day
