- Multi stage compressors/double stage double acting compressor horizontal axis are used in industries for developing high pressure to maintain air/gas flow. In this video we shall learn and understand about internal components of compressor and its function through Howden C series compressor.
Good contribution to the Technical side
Student having vigorous knowledge in this field. Appreciable sharing through videos.
Thanks
Thank you so much for this video.
Glad it was useful!
Very nice video....full concept clear by this..in so easy language.👍

Great video
Very nice and informative video
Thanks
Wow
Nice
Thank you for this amazing video. Could you please share with us how to adjust and install the unloading valves?
There are two type of unloader. Mechanical and pressure switch operated. In case pressure switch unloading is there, you can set pressure switch for high/Low limits of pressure. Pressure switch shall sense the pressure and signal to solenoid valve which is three way valve. The solenoid valve shall be set open to de-energize and send pressure to suction valve unloading assembly to unload the suction valve. You can refer catalouge of your compressor manufacturer. The above system is followed in Kirloskar Pneumatic make reciprocating compressors such as 2HA2ST ..... modle.
great video.
I wonder why the grooves on the rider rings are slanted?
Grooves on rider rings are having 45° cut by placing piston rings 120° apart if there are three piston rings to make perfect sealing. This also increase surface area of cutting edge to prevent leakage through cutting edge. If rider rings are cut in straight, then surface area will be less and compression will not be perfect due to passing of air or gas to low pressure side. The similar methodology is applied in gland packings to prevent leakage from stuffing boxes of pumps and conpressors.
Very useful.. Thanks
You are welcome
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Very nice sir👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Excelente video. Disculpa en qué programa le haces ese video del compresor? Podrías poner la opción de subtítulos por favor a tus videos, para entenderles mejor?

BAHUT ASSA VI🙏🙏
thank you for the explanation! I have one question, how gas moves from low pressure stage to high-pressure stage , through the compressor inlet, or it moves out of compressor and then re-enters to high-pressure side?
The gas is first compressed in LP cylinder and it goes to intercooler first and cooled to remove moisture from high pressure gas/air and also to make compression isothermal to save energy. Through intercooler it goes to inlet of HP cylinder through suction valves and then compressed and discharged to discharge pipeline through discharge/outlet valves.
Mr thanks
Very good Explain Sir ..
Glad you liked it!
Good bro well explained 🔥❤️
Thanks ✌️
HP cylinder side piston thermal expansion setting by using pillar gauge
LP and HP cylinder thermal expansion settings can be done by soft lead wire and filler gauge by adjusting piston rod lock nut with crosshead. Both the methods are applicable.
Sir bdc से tdc ka clearnce jayada kyu hota hai
Osm brooo
Glad you liked it.
Hello friend
How can I get teaching aid models for compressors
Wonderfully video am enjoy it
But am using these type of compressor but during compression sometimes inlet pressure valve closed and recovery valve open as well as end sewage valve and compression failer to complete .
What are the possible cause on it
help me.😌
Can you elaborate your question please.
good one
Glad you liked it!
Hello Sir,
I want to know, whether you have put up any video showing an external double stage (v design) compressor?
The reason for asking this, is I am not able to understand this video, in which you are showing compressor internally.
On seeing an air compressor externally, whether the cylinder near the motor is high pressure cylinder (small in size) is what my query is.
And also whether an safety valve is present on an air compressor when we look at it externally?
Though I'm a mechanical engineer, I only understand things when told in a simple manner.
Hopefully you have understood what I want to say.
Thanking you,
Regards
No I have not made such video. Thanks
Kindly explain clearances value and how the clearance setting is done.
The TDC and BDC clearances of compressor is generally kept as per OEM recommendation. However the general thumb rule to kept TDC and BDC clearances in 60:40 ratio. For example the double stage double acting reciprocating compressor model 2HA2ST of kirloskar pneumatic is having total piston float 3.5 mm and TDC and BDC are kept 2 mm at TDC and 1.5 mm at BDC. The clearance setting is done with the help of lead and moving the flywheel with special rotating tool. We must use special rotating tool for flywheel otherwise accident may happen by rotating manually by pulling belts. Remove TDC/BDC suction/delivery valves of HP and LP cylinders, rotate flywheel to reciprocate piston, put lead strip in the cylinder keeping half outside and half inside of cylinder in TDC side, hit the piston and measure the thickness of lead by Vernier/micrometer. If desired results not achieved do small adjustment by nut loosening/tightening on crosshead for piston assly. and ensure final desired results. Journal bearing diametric clearances are kept as per OEM recommendation and are generally .001 inch per inch diameter shaft.
plz make another video for compressor. like as parts type, flow rating. how calculate flow. etc..
Thanks for the feedback! We will make another video soon as per your suggestion.
👍👍
Dear Sir, first of all. Great work... all the best for your future. I appreciate your efforts...💐💐💐
My Question is that According to the thumb rule or as per OEM instruction, We are maintaining more clearance from TDC and less clearance to the BDC like (2/3 for TDC and 1/3 for BDC). But from the Double acting cylinders TDC And BDC both sides are having compression, producing the pressure and getting thermal expansion on both sides right. But Why we need to maintain more clearance specifically from TDC. This is my question. Thank you very much in advance for the answer...❤
In BDC side piston assembly is with piston rod. Hence air volume shall be less equal to piston rod volume. Therefore less clearance is maintained compare to TDC.
What is the OEM could you please explain
@@s.pradeep5210 Original Equipment Manufacturer
@@SkillOnTech But Someother OEM are giving both side equal clearances. What is your opinion regarding this...?
Thanks brother jest I'm asking for OEM that's all. Thank you for your replay
Why use air line on elements 1 discharge valve and elements 2 section valve on Chicago pneumatic compressor.
Your question is not clear to me. But suction valves are provided airline tapping from discharge for unloading the compressor. If discharge pressure exceeded than set discharge pressure, pressure switch will signal to solenoid valve to supply discharge air to suction valve to get it idle to unload compressor.
Please provide training on overhauling each part
We have a video on maintenance of double stage double acting reciprocating compressor. Please find it here ua-cam.com/video/H1kjxjwGLLg/v-deo.html
Plz provide for more video for compressor all components and its maintenance.
Okay
Hindi me batao English word mixture ke saath to jyada fayda hogaa 👍👍👍
Thanks for your nice suggestion!
Sir kpcl 1200 ka explain kare
Can you please confirm the model make/series for the same.
Mm
Did you take video rights to publish this in youtube from HOWDEN..... Please check this.....
