  • First year picking corn with our restored Ford 602 mounted corn picker. Field averaged 150 bu/acre and picker handled it no problem.

Nice machinery! Enjoyed seeing the tractor and picker in action; almost like time-travel back to the late 1950's.

Thanks for the nice comments. I've got a couple more videos I need to upload and we plan to run the picker again this year as well as a picker/sheller so should get some videos of it too

Always is a pleasure to watch your videos! So glad that you took the time to paint it, decal it, had everything set up correctly & then put it to work in the field as it was made to do instead of putting it in the shed only getting it out for shows!! I see the corn screen on the front of the grill did it's job as well! I really need to take more time in the future to video some of our stuff when we run it like you guys do!

That brings back memories. We ran the same setup until the 80's. We have a 971 S-O-S on ours.

my Dad had the exact setup, his 961 was a gas model. traded in late 60's. sold picker to someone. My Mom doesn't remember who.

I have a woods bothers 1 row and I have yet to hear a picker as quiets as a Ford and woods. They just run so smooth and quiet I will never get rid of my ford picker just cant beat it.

On our farm in Missouri, we had a ford 2 row corn picker like that one mounted on our row crop Fordson Major Diesel.

That’s awesome. I haven’t seen one mounted on a Major but heard of a couple that were done that way. Where in Missouri was/is your farm?

@@ford9000puller , it was west of Hopkins, about 15 miles north of Maryville; when I was a teenager I picked a lot of corn with it. The Major did well, It had plenty of power to operate the cornpicker.

We had the same exact set-up other than the 961 was a diesel. We also had the sheller attachment, Ford 501 3pt sickle mower, Ford baler, and Ford 2 bottom plow. Do you guys still run them in the fall? I'm from Chilhowee Missouri. I would love to come see the Fords in action if you do!!!

Yes we still run them. Be glad to have you come watch. Planted corn late this year behind oats that I baled trying to make up hay from last years drought. So it will still be a while before we pick. Send me an email with your phone number. hillvalleyfords@gmail.com
