+Kris I've watched a lot of pendulum's performances, a lot. He doesnt use autotune, he uses some kind of a vocoder to slightly change his voice, thats absolutely not the same and I've also heard performances without it, the guy definitaly can sing.
@@kingprone7846 This is true, Rob swire uses pitch correction. But listen to the way he breathe, you can hear he has the technique to use his diaphragm. Rob swire has some pretty good lungs for singing!
this guy is who all dj's want to be. there are few of his kind. he was in a band, he can sing like a god and he is now a famous dj. the only other guy with the same experience is Skrillex
@@UhhCheeto Yep Rob Swire is from Perth, Australia, moved to the UK and started Pendulum where he was the lead singer, then started a little unknown side project with one of his bandmates called *Knife Party* :P
Rob uses a talk box (not auto tune needed) while performing the other side. Rob uses pitch correction a bit when he is performing live but it is not noticeable unlike other artists who use it live. Have a listen to pendulum performing granite at camden crawl 2010 (its the only time i have heard rob's pitch correction)
@keerlz of course he's nervous, he doesn't normally do this song live, but agreed, he still does a great job, not a bad singer considering he originally didn't want to do singing...
Sounds like his studio sound is on in the backround, that might be the reason why it sounds autotuned sometimes

+Kris a big N.O.P.E Because he actually doesn't. What he uses is a Vocoder. Live performances are without autotune. (Not denying about productions, but lives are without.)
I think Rob is singing overtop the actual track with his voice in the background as well so thats where the autotune distort is coming from. Or he maybe singing into a special mic to give him that echo-type vibe, which kicks ass. Fuck wahtever he sounds amazing.
@AmbienttElectronica yah but in the studio version there's pitch correction and synth to fix his voice up, he doesnt sound bad live but thats why theres such a difference aha
Yeah, he sings it for the front part ( the part that sounds like he sings it) and deadmau5 just plays the back part ( the part from the original track that's autotuned.) to help with the chorus' chords.
Pretty sure the other vocals we here are just from the original backing vocals. Doesn't seem like they are cheating with him singin on top of the lead vocals of the track. And definately no autotune!
i think its pretty known among pendulum fans that rob is just quite obviously not confident with his voice, it will explain all the auto-tune he uses even live. but he really doesn't need it and i wish he saw that.
aMpeDDUp im 6yrs late but i think its just coz the vocals from the song in the background and his own were at the exact same pitch at that moment because a second
there's zero autotune, compare it to the studio version. his raw voice sounds completely different here from the electrified one on the original. he has a powerful voice and is a good singer. if you still think it's autotune you must be deaf.
there was no autotune, have you ever heard live performance of watercolour or the island by pendulum (rob swire)? the guy is an amazing singer..

Nass 2017, he sounds like the recordings
he is using pitch correction it is fairly obvious. it is full of artifacts.
@@kingprone7846 This is true, Rob swire uses pitch correction.

Rob swire has some pretty good lungs for singing!
He uses pitch correction but honestly it's more about the uniqueness of his voice and delivery
bless him all nervous up there without the rest of the boys
Oh my god his voice is touching my soul directly

Connor Blake how about Skrillex’s founder lol. Put some respeck on the Maus’s name mate
Mau5 is great but I don't think I've heard him sing before

Rob's got pipes--I just love his voice.
This is amazing. Rob Swire's voice is so amazing here. Love it!
rare to see an amazing singer who's also an incredible producer. this guy's got talent by the bucket load
Raw beautiful voice

Rob sounds so nervous.
rob sounds off but I will take it any day
I wish this was an actual video.
+Macho Bravado there is but it's a really shitty cellphone video. it's on youtube somewhere.

@@Desertime oh god thank you for this - I've been wanting to see this performance for years, be it with bad quality.
He sounds abit nervous. Still amazing singing though!
@keerlz of course he's nervous, he doesn't normally do this song live, but agreed, he still does a great job, not a bad singer considering he originally didn't want to do singing...
Just an fyi for people, this is the vocalist from Pendulum
1:16-1:29 I really wish he'd sung that part properly. The rest of it is so addictive to listen to.
He did though, the pitch change you hear in the original song is from the backing vocal.
actually he is singing the backing vocal coz he is probably struggeling to hit the high notes live
Sounds like his studio sound is on in the backround, that might be the reason why it sounds autotuned sometimes

he uses autotune/pitch correction live. for sure.
Here's a video of the performance. The quality is really poor, but that's the best one can find I guess

Rob Swire is my GOD
He's my idol
u again ratman?
Same here
+1 for Team Swire, he's amazing!
1:16 I thought this song was about to transition into Circle of Life.
+G4T0R4D3xEN3RGY lmaoooo
That is the legendary comment LOL
What?
If I'm not mistaken, people are mistaking the vibrato in his voice and bass frequency interference in the mic for nervousness. Confirm/Deny?
I’m so fucking happy to see him perform them but do you have any of the video footage?
His Voice is really unique and I do like it pretty much. :D
Even when he kinda screams it, it still sounds really good, not many can do that. :)
Exactly especially the grgrgrgrhr

Rob Swire has the perfect electronic voice. My mind tells me his voice is always edited
he was a singer in a goth rock band before he was a DJ before he started Pendulum :D
I really can't imagine rob singing on stage without a band or even a Z-tar. . .
And skrill plays guitar, drums, bass and generally songwrites too ;)
Sounds a bit shaky :/ BUT I've heard other live videos, he's mad crazy good. Must be odd singing without an actual band.
Fuck no autotune here, this guy can fucking sing.

I wasn't expecting him to be that flat or to take the higher parts to an octave lower in some places.
is there a video of him singing?
Pendulum live like witchcraft its beatiful
download link?
@AndyII6III9 its no were near uber-soprano really :') it's just more expected in a girls range
HOLY SHIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT
DrunkVoice of God
Electro house can't be compared to drum n bass
True Dnb is far superior
yeah listen to pendulum live
Dead mau5
I think Rob is amazing nontheless
Yeah :) I managed to find this live again XD
@xXPendulumRuleXx I don't think so, sorry :/ (not even amateur shot... Yes, I have searched lol). This come from a radio stream, so...

by the the way that's a singer of a band
+Elizabeth Benningfield Yup, Pendulum. There will be a reunion soon, he's in Knife Party atm - but I guess you already know that.
he sounds nervous.. but still a cracking song..
@wetnappy08 aw a fanboy/girl. how cute.
Vocal processing too here...
Reverb maybe?
2:11 sounds very autotuned. could it be rob swire's voicebox has a tune module?
aMpeDDUp im 6yrs late but i think its just coz the vocals from the song in the background and his own were at the exact same pitch at that moment because a second
Maybe its not just him. Maybe its the fact that most of his fans are 9-14 y/os that dont know good music.
deadmau5 is DJing, Rob is just singing. If you want to see rob DJing, just check out Knife Party. They're AMAZING!!!!!!!!! ;D
it's not THE AMAZING voice like every think...but it's good at least
There's definitely autotune there. Not that it matters.
you can hear the autotune glitches all over the place X_x
knife party suck.Pendulum was ...just amazing..band
and that's why rob uses pitch correction and a ton of fx live 😂
He really doesn't this is a good performance
Skrillex is horrible.
Skrillex cant sing well anyways.
