As I had stated to you on another vid about this amp , I have three friends using these . After showing them this vid , one is ordering a Taramps , one a Recoil and the other said he's gonna run it till it kicks the bucket . They all were highly disappointed after viewing this vid . Many thanks again for taking one for the team and showing just what a hunk of junk SSL and parent company BOSS really is . 😉 ( BTW , this is also SPW on my other device)😂
If you value your friend and want the best SQ for him, I would highly suggest that he doesn't buy RECOIL...those amps are fuckin TERRIBLE, they produce so much distortion that it's audible. Even their DSPs are shit..
Yep I just installed the Recoil DI550.4 with the Recoil REM ECHO 6.5 component set and rear coaxials. Had to set the tweeter crossover all the way down on the lowest DB 2 pin in the crossover and also crossed all the mid bass speakers at 120hz on the DI550.4 amp. This Recoil audio system the way I have it set up plays loud, clear, and articulate. I'm running a Stinger 12 inch in their Stinger cabinet port tuned at 35hz port wise, Low pass filter at 70hz, and subsonic filter at 30hz. Amp on the Stinger combo is there Stinger MT 1000.1 mono block amp. All my gains on both amps are set to 55%. This system again plays clean, has excellent imaging, and the subwoofer just absolutely slams without any port noise or cone slap...I play all sorts on genres of music and this setup is just a price to performance CHAMPION. Total cost $607.00 and everyone who has heard it can't believe how incredible it sounds for a budget build...RECOIL for the WIN!
@petedetraglia4776 you said it pal, that is very detailed and impressive system you've got I personally bought two recoil 1200.4 D. They are incredible, paired with stetsom bravo 3k, two American bass xr12,, bunch of 6.5's pioneer and prv super tweeters the biggest ear ringing models. These recoil haven't missed a beat, excellent product clear very powerful sound, the quality is amazing for the price. Two prv 10's midbass. Only had one 1200.4 and had to order another. So far so good. Compared to taramps another in the affordable bracket they are better in sound quality, taramps has a hiss whereas the recoil is very very minimal.
@@TheRepos296 Wow that sounds like a great audio system you have there...I put my word on it buy any Stinger mono amp in the MT series. They send you a dyno test certified right from their factory and my 1000 watt dyno'd at 1069 watts at 1 ohm on a 40hz tone not the misrepresented 1k tone that other amp companies use to rate their power. The engineer from RE Audio designed this run of amps for Stinger and they are amazing and very affordable... Best amp i've owned and I ran some really good Alpine amps back in the day...My favorite tweeters are the M-Shape reverse dome tweeters. My first chance hearing them were in my Mazda 6 about a decade ago when I ran the MB Quart Onyx series components on an MB Quart 500 watt A/B 4 channel amp. They can get loud easily but don't ring out like metal domes do. These M-Shape reverse domes sound very smooth and image amazingly. Focal makes some of the best M-shape tweeters on the market but your going to pay for them steeply...BUT they are worth every penny!
Great job. love the channel. I would love to see someone test the NVX XAD 41. x line full bridge one ohm stable. I picked one up slightly used for 160.00 100watt 4 channel @4ohm. say its a little power house and very clean. has all the goodies and comes with a clip light. must be pretty good because it looks like they are getting hard to find. brand new i think 250ish. and believe the NVX is a house brand from sonic electronics. I hear good things about the whole line.
Look at the size of the caps on that board. Thats probably a 20 to 30 real watt amp per channel...That is the sadest amp board I've ever seen for real! My Recoil DI550.4 does over its rated 80 watts per channel at 4 ohms...I have the amp gain set to 55%, head unit volume set to 70% and you can't think straight in my SUV. I'm running the Recoil Rem Echo 6.5 components and rear coaxials HPF set to 120hz (12 db slope to the Fs 60hz).The DI550.4 was $85.00 shipped to my front door...SSL is a garbage!!!
That was sadly very anticlimactic, lol. I feel in your situation I would invoke the Amazon "30 day money back guarantee". Reminds me of the flea market amps of the 80's and 90's concatenated with today's bags of chips...Cost a lot for package full of air. Sorry I don't have any amplifier suggestions at the moment, fairly happy with my recent acquisition (WA-2K) which you have already done the review for. Thanks Joe👍
lol! Yeah, it’s crazy to think this amp is a little over $100. You can get quite a bit of amp for $100 these days. I’m glad you’re enjoying the WA-2K! Thanks Dustin!
@@stereomojo Been so busy the last few weeks, averaging 110 hours/week that i have not been able to post any type of review for you. I will say that typically 5-7 hours a day I am giving your amp a thorough workout, not to mention the poor subs. Hey Chris! I came real close to buying that amp for my own personal use one time. No, I’ve never done that one. I should though. Thanks for the support!
How does it sound like 😢 that look attractive Old dizine but sound good sometimes stop 🛑 using restive loads and you want blow up stuff 🎉😮 Ghost 👻 audio
The fuses will give you a ballpark of where an amp will perform. 30 amp fuse time 10 is 300, if it's a class d, you will get at least 70% of that in watts but if it's a class ab then you go 50%. That's the math I use and usually doesn't fail me
What i just dont understand is why would anyone buy these shit amps? I can only imagine how bad of distortion these shit box produce. but i am sure these are rated at 3%thd
