I really like this, could potentially use them as a base for ceiling lights too.
How beautiful ❤️ wish I was this handy and had all the tools 😮
Thank you! Inspired to try
Let us know how it turns out, Tara! 💙
Thanks for the information! 🤗 I’ve been wanting to do something like this in my home.
What gauge was that nailer?
Hi Carlos, this is an 18-gauge Cordless Brad Nailer from Kobalt, here is the link in case you’d like to learn more! www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-24V-XTR-18-Gauge-Nailer-Bare/5012963341?cm_mmc=vc-_-c-_-prd-_-tol-_-yt-_-mn-_-how-_-hta-_-s01-_-.
Finished picture would be nice.
I wish there was a shot at the end showing the finished room. Also did you us glue between the seams or putty to hide the seams?
We used wood glue with finish nails to hold it together, and filled with stainable wood filler to make sure everything was perfectly even.
You cut beam edges at a 45 then glue them
I love wood beams, a modern rustic look. I'd love to see a fireplace mantel also. Also, how to change out a glass door on the front of a fireplace. I painted by brick fireplace but it needs a wood mantel and a new glass door.
Great tutorial
I had this idea as well to house pot lights within these beams.
OMG I've been looking for a video like this. I'm doing a victorian theme in my house, and the first floor has such a boring ceiling.
What a great theme! Best of luck with your ceiling makeover.💙
It looks like you use something to cover the seams between the lengths of the full beams but I couldn't tell what you used could you put a link to what it is in the description and maybe tell how you installed it.
They are called ceiling beam covers. You can choose from stick on version, or a bracket style that you can screw into the beam.
I think you're talking about a wood filler, it's a putty like tan colored that matches the wood color, well most.
@lowes can please add a link for the covers? Thank you
How do u know what size beams you need ? I have 16’ ceilings and a 28’ run
Hi there! Larger or thicker beams are what many use for higher ceilings, but the most important thing is making sure the beams are proportionate to the room size. You can always visit your local store so one of our design team associates can assist you further.
Are you related to Jody Foster in some way?
How to put wood in a tray ceiling
Hi I’m a man, duh.
What is the purpose of that? It doesn't make any difference... especially the dark color of the "thingy"
Not a fan of the stain color......
Minwax offers stain colors in all sorts of colors and finishes, so you can pick the color that best accents your home and style!
In France, they don’t have faux ceilings, because faux ceilings are fake. That’s what the word means in French.
But................Why?
