This is one of the absolute best "how to videos". They didn't waste a second and I had a job that needed to get done quickly. Really the best and concise. Thanks
Some tips from a 35 Year drywall pro who's done 15 years of nothing but repairs- 1-When fixing a popped nail, also drive a screw right next to the popped one to lock it down, or it will pop again. 2- Don't try to smooth out an 8" repair with a 2" knife. It only looks smooth on video but I promise, it's most likely not. Use a 10" knife. (I demonstrate this in one of my videos). 3-NEVER use regular joint compound over mesh tape. Always use fast setting mud, or you increase the risk of it cracking (I learned the hard way, and the manufacturer even says to do this). Use paper tape if you choose regular joint compound. 4- When doing a knockdown texture, wait several minutes before knocking it down or it will smear flat and look terrible. 5- Practice on some scrap before doing any of these things to avoid failure. Hope that helps, as it's my goal to help you all do a much better job on your drywall. Good luck, and feel free to ask me questions (probably best on my channel as I may never see it here)
Hey, Kilted Guy, I LOVE your channel. Good advice, and everyone should go check out his channel, he'll teach you the right way to do drywall repairs and he tells you all the little details you need to know.

My brand new home has just finished being built, & I have been at Lowes everyday since then. Lowes is a lifesaver for new home owners that have no idea how easy it is to do minor home maintenance & these diy videos make it even better. Good job Lowes.
What is this channel? The production level is amazing, the audio and video are clear, the information is quick and informative. Spend like 3 days binging these videos and you'll be ready to start those home projects.
My English Bull Terrier just ran down the hallway at mach 1 then tried turning at the end of her runway.... epic fail ( polished hardwood floors) Now i have a 1 foot dent in the drywall.. thanks Lowes for teaching me how to repair her runway crash zone. Easy education. Other than medical, law, psychology, and pot growing there truly is no need for college. Not for us guys who joined the workforce career over the books.
I used to work at lowes and people would always complain about the spray texture in a can not working. It works great, but make sure you follow the instructions or else it will make a mess! Good video!
Yep, watched this video then drove straight to Lowes for joint tape, drywall screws and compound. Had cut a fairly good size piece out of my bathroom ceiling where I thought I had a leak... The cut out piece of drywall has been leaning against the wall for years. Never found the leak, but thanks for the inspiration Lowes!
Found this video before I renovated a large bathroom and put in a new kitchen and had to fix the walls in the adjacent eat in kitchen room. I used what I learned here many, many times to complete repair of walls damaged after removing tile in the bathroom. Everything came out perfect and my wife couldn’t find where I had done the repairs and large patches. This video also helped us patch the ceiling Sheetrock where we removed the large 6” recessed lights and replaced them with the new 3” LED lights to update the new kitchen. This video was amazing and very helpful including the best way to fix nail pops.

You are a lifesaver! My cats have shredded and taken chunks out of the drywall under the window they love to look out of. Awesome tut, thanks. I am changing the location of a lightswitch box, and I think I will use the method of cutting a patch of drywall for the old opening.
