The new generation with the semi-translucent casing has bluetooth, you can connect your phone to the mic with bluetooth, you can connection their action4, pocket3, etc - but the previous generation does not have bluetooth so it is unfortunately not possible with a software update. Individual mics are thankfully available now at a pretty reasonable price :)
Thank you!!! Your explanation was the answer to my question for at least a week! I didn’t purchase the creator pack and went through so many videos trying to figure out! Greatly appreciated!!!
mine worked until recently using the transmitter.... i wondered if the new update stopped the mk1 mics working, i dont get the mic bar across the top anymore. Anyone else getting this issue?
Bloody hell. I wish I found your video earlier thank you for helping. I didn’t buy the creator bundle because I already had the DJI mics which I thought would automatically connect. They should be a lot clearer on their website to ensure they let people know that no other mics will work as easier than the one that they’re selling.
Thank you so much for this informative video. I recently bought DJI Mic and it has been very challenging to try to connect especially trying to find when the blue light will appear!!! Hopefully DJI will rectify this major issue soon. Cheers.
I was stressing right out. Reading so many files and comments. Oml, I can't thank you enough! I was like surely it can't be this hard and then wallah you done it. Thank you thank you!!!
Right before it was released a bunch of creators had put out video reviews and most all stated that the old mics wouldn't work with the new camera, that being said DJI did say you can hook up 2 mics (but they have to be the gen. that came with the camera)..... I did see one video where a creator knew someone else who received a pre-release pocket 2 and borrowed her transmitter to show you could do it but DJI hasn't started selling the new gen. transmitters as a single unit yet.
This is awesome thank you for this. I was really stressed about connecting the original DJI mic + tripod option. I'm glad I can still connect my tripod even if I have the receiver connected.
Interesting. I never heard that the old mics would work. I guess I missed that. I think DJI screwed up bc I notice they call the old mic, Mic 2, but they are also calling this new on Mic 2. Perhaps that is the issue? The "mic " from the creative combo will be out standalone soon though and it will 100% work. I don't think they will be able to ever get the old "mic 2" or 1 to work, doesn't have the right hardware.
Superbe ! It works although it's a workaround. Shame on DJI that they didn't mentioned it on their website. It could help building more trust in DJI. Your video as a consumer, a client of DJI, like I am, should be thanking you for being so loyal and pragmatic.
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad it helped! I’ve actually taken the plunge and bought the mic 2’s. It was only a planter of time until I broke off the receiver
I’ve actually really enjoyed using the camera, and I’m happy there is a work around. I just wish I didn’t need to work around a problem that I feel shouldn’t exist

I’m glad it helped! It took me ages to work this out too 😊
Thank you! This saved me a lot of time and was exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for sharing.

Same problem. It stops working and keep saying failed connection. 😢
Thank you for making this video! We too thought the same as you and have been baffled as to why we couldn't connect the mics to the pocket!
I’m glad it helped. I couldn’t find a video that explained it at all, which is why I made the video

Yeah, unfortunately I don’t think I saw all those reviews. It’s ok as I can work round it, but I wish it was just a bit better

i understand this frustration. i hate how dji purposely didn't make them compatible on the go is because they want you to but the mic 2

That’s where I got it from as I’m sure they called the old mic’s ‘Mic 2’
@@Firefly_UAV I am pretty sure too, just like the dang goggles, DJI is the worst with names IMO.
See I have the googles 2 and not the goggles V2, how could anyone get confused, lol
@@Firefly_UAV lol, truth, its advanced algebra to figure out what model you have!

@@Firefly_UAV Now you have 4 microphones 😀
Well 5, as I have a Rode one too. I need to sell the original DJI mics
Does it connect both mics to that one?
It does, although they are in both in mono
They sell the dual mic kits now
Yeah, I’ve seen that now. It’s just a pain having to replace something that’s just over a year old because it’s not compatible
Good points. This is one of the reasons I have not purchased this camera.
I’ve actually really enjoyed using the camera, and I’m happy there is a work around. I just wish I didn’t need to work around a problem that I feel shouldn’t exist
Yes, very true, wish we can just connect without limitations.
Let’s hope DJI manage to add compatibility
Really appreciate this video. I'm in the same boat.
It’s so frustrating isn’t it! I have just invested in a couple of new mic 2 transmitters. Although I’ve yet to try and connect them to the osmo 3
Just had the same problem. Smh
i gave your video a thumb up. but please, more light . it was hard to see. thank you
Thanks for your comment. I’ll try and improve the lighting on the next one 👍
