With the cpu optimization. COD does heavily tax the CPU but by reducing the graphics and resolution, you're actually making the CPU work harder because the GPU can generate more frames than it usually can. In order for the game to keep up with all those frames it needs to do calculations for each of them. Imagine having to do calculations 500 times a second vs 100. For a more consistent experience I would reccomend capping your frame rate or actually upping the graphics settings to lessen the burden on the CPU.
I've been PC gaming since 2008 and I never realized this until now with CPU-heavy games, I think I subconsciously knew but I never understood why until now. Insane.
Indeed. Capping fps and or putting more load onto your gpu can help reduce the load on your cpu. Some games do have a couple settings specific to cpu load itself but I haven't bothered looking into this games settings to know what it's got going on.
I max out settings for the most part and then do dlss and cap frame rate at about 120. This seems to have given me a fairly constant frame rate with few frame drops aside from packet burst happening. What do you do for settings?
All Omni movement has done is actually make Dolphin dive useful and not a gimmick, Omni movement in the end isn’t really a big change but still a nice one that feels fluid and changed the pace for the better imo
This! I don't understand the omnimovement hate. If we're not going back to BO2 movement or jetpack era skill gaps I think this is a good compromise going forward for the series.. at least until Infinity Ward inevitably nerfs it and makes their next game feel as bad as Ghosts or MWII again.
It has also given everyone the equivalent of tac boots in MW3, so you slide farther and can ads while sliding. It lets you take gunfights with more momentum. What it doesn't do is actually make you go faster. The movement speeds feel about the same as mw3 on average, though the lmgs and snipers feel even slower than MW3 until you get the movement stocks.

I'm water cooled and temps are good. Render worker count is correct. Running optimized settings. I'm running the latest microcode/bios. No crashes or issues in cinebench or any other game. This game is not more demanding than cinebench so it makes no sense - they just suck at optimizing.
Did you not hear about the massive intel issues for the 14900k (and 13900)? They are inherently faulty chips, the microcode/bios updates were just a bandaid.
