I've always seen phoenix point as pure pain with a side of ufo aftershock game and story wise When i was honestly expecting something more like aftermath
Whenever I go back to Phoenix Point, I remember how much Julian Gollop hates making things easier. I wonder what's to blame - the original UFO: Enemy Unknown being stuck on easy, or him being stuck difficulty-wise in the 90s.
I like the idea that Enemy Unknown being stuck on easy mode caused him actual trauma. That's why his games are so rude, man's stuck on a lobsterman cruise ship terror mission of the soul.
I've never actually gotten around to getting this game. It's one of those funny situations where I'm interested every time I hear about it, but then promptly forget its existence the moment anything else comes up. Real goldfish hours for me with this game apparently.
Same! I was interestedly following development for a while and then I just stopped, I wishlisted it on Steam and let it sit there for a few years. It's always been kind of on my radar as a thing I might potentially enjoy but very low down the list of priorities. If a friend hadn't picked it up recently it'd still be down there.
